Best barbecue I've ever had! Had tri-tip sandwich on super fresh bread. Tried the baked beans and the collard greens. Every single thing was delicious. The only regret is that they're only open on the weekends! Seating is fine comfortable and great music playing. Employees are super friendly and helpful. I'll be going here frequently

It's a shame to give this place 3 stars when it's some of the best BBQ I've had in a long time. We ordered the ribs & pulled pork with beans, toast and coleslaw. All were good. I've had better BBQ sauce. The man who took our order didn't great us with a smile or any pleasantries. We did not feel welcome. We didn't finish our food and asked for to go containers which were Styrofoam. Any cook/chef should be embarrassed to put good food in poison contaners. The bathroom was filthy.

driving through los banos on west pacheco blvd towards the 152 to gilroy...spotting hot city bbq to the left on 6th st....really small parking lot...maybe 3 spaces, but easy to find street parking in the residential area...entering to a restaurant space...order counter in the center towards the back with large chalkboard menu to the left and right...browsing while waiting and deciding on the chowchilla special $17.95...1/2 tri-tip & 1/2 link sandwich...short wait and food arriving...extra bbq sauce container, bag of chips and pickled wedge included...it's a meaty sandwich...a very basic bread, meat and bbq sauce sandwich..bbq tri-tip and link was good, but very dense...pickle wedge helped, but some veggies or salad instead of the chips might have balanced out the meal better...

Looked like it been there for a minute. We saw the smoker outside and could see they cook all the meats fresh. Menu was pretty simple. Inside was clean and lots of seats. There was only 1 table occupied. Workers were pretty friendly to us. Prices seem higher for the area though. We were just driving south and happen to stop by in town. We were hungry so we tried here. Basically a solid rest stop.We ordered the Tri-tip sandwich. There was a good amount of meat. The food was yum.Parking lot in front

The food is amazing, I always stop by when we are near hwy 5. They are only open on weekends Friday, Saturday, and Sunday but it's the best BBQ. The portions are huge and my favorite is the Tri Tip. They have chicken, pork and beef. They offer salad, corn bread and iced tea. Service is awesome the staff is super friendly and quick.Parking is limited to a couple spaces but there is plenty of parking on the street. The ambiance is country style and very home like.

Saturday at 2:30p no waitHubs got the tritip sandwich which he enjoyed & I got the $20 half size tritip salad. Hubs practically finished his sandwich before my massive salad came out, then we had to wait even longer for the cornbread. The vinaigrette was a bit overpowering but still worked. I thought the cornbread was good but hubs wasn't impressed. While I worked on my massive salad (that could feed 4+), hubs ordered 2 more sandwiches and half slab of ribs to go.Ribs were good & fell off the bone, but also slightly lacking in flavor (we prefer not to drown/mask our ribs in sauce).

Code 7. You receive ALL the fabulous smoked meats and sides. Hands down great deal. Pulled pork, ribs, tri tip and chicken. Enough for two hearty eaters. Sides are mararoni salad, coleslaw, potato salads bread and the baked beans. Amazing meats as usual. The tri tip so soft and succulent and Smokey. The chicken was a quarter; I got leg meat. Half dozen ribs. Pulled pork was probably 1/3 pound in a soup cup container. And the beans!! Just excellent flavor and loaded with meat. They keep me coming back. Best BBQ in the west.

Pulled chicken sandwich is simple and delicious! I favor the bbq chicken and pork ribs. I can't wait to try the beef rib.... one of my favorites! The atmosphere is a no fuss backyard BBQ feel. Service is great. It's only open a few days a week so I'm sure it's a place the neighborhood looks forward to weekly.

If you're a fan of good BBQ you need to check this place out! Their menu is large so there's a lot to choose from, I had the Tri Tip sandwich in a small size and you would've thought I ordered the regular version! They have a variety of sauces you can try, they're all amazing! The staff is very friendly, ready to serve you whatever you need, we ordered our food and not even 5 minutes later the food was at our table. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that'll listen!

This place is great! We stop in every time through town and have never been disappointed. Every meat we've tried has been delicious and all the sides are worth trying too. You're slapped in the face with the smell of the smoker as soon as you open your car door! In a good way. It's an out of the way spot just off the main drag. The set up is clean and simple. Service is fast and friendly.
