The food may not be Michelin star quality but the service here has always been 5 stars. The large dining room is clean and well-kept. Even the game area in the corner looks free from dust and dirt.Fish & Chips: I had the best-tasting Fish & Chips in a very long time. This classic dish of the British Isles had a subtle sweet and buttery taste. The steamy battered fried cod was accompanied by a basketful of delicate potato chips. I truly enjoyed the delicate crunch that had the right amount of salt. I had my order with coleslaw, which was a good marriage between the deep-fried fish and chips. This dish is definitely a 5 in my book. Lemonade: My lemonade was refreshing - with enough acidity and sweetness. Another 5 of 5.French Dip Sandwich: I didn't taste this but was told it was very good. (5 of 5)Beer: I didn't taste this but was told it's one of the better-tasting beer sold locally. 1850 Bootjack (5 of 5)Onion Rings: I didn't taste this. I was informed the onion rings were overdone and very oily. (4 of 5) The server came to ask how we like our food, and when my friend told him the onion rings were overdone, he offered to re-cook them. Now, that is a 5 to me.Service: You'll get a 5-star service here. The atmosphere is open but the service is warm. Overall, this is a must-visit eatery if you're in the area.

This is one of our must stops when in Ahwahnee. We visit 3-4 times a year and this place never disappoints! The food is delicious and serving size is great. The staff has always been kind and friendly. It's always nice and clean and has a very good family hang out vibe.

I really appreciate the service and ambiance at the Hitching Post, it's has great local flavor! I've been coming here for many years and it has only gotten better with time. On my most recent visit I noticed they have added a shuffle board table and live music on Saturday nights. They are also quite popular for their Friday night karaoke. My servers Sara and Camile were lovely and provided me with everything I needed to have a fun time!

Friendly staff and great service! Excellent ambiance, specially for families. We are definitely coming back.

Food is good, drinks are strong, staff is nice. Overall a really good vibe. My friends and I came in from the Bay Area and after a long drive came here for dinner. We were really impressed. It's gonna be our go to spot from now on.

Shout out to the new owners of the Hitching Post Bar & Grill . The food was Amazing ‼‼‼ I had the Rueben sandwich. My parents had the fried chicken salad and patty melt burger . The portion and presentation was worth the money .

Great local spot under new ownership and I appreciate the changes being made. Definitely leaning more towards a family friendly restaurant with a nightlife after dark. Karaoke on Fridays. The chili is crave worthy and I am hooked! Looking forward to what this place transforms into after years of the same thing. Safe and all ages friendly, hard working, small business owners, and delicious food awaits you!!

What a hidden gem!!! I've passed this place several times when visiting family and never thought to stop. You order at the counter and your food is brought out to you. The place is big and everything is kept clean. We ordered, two egg breakfast with sausage white toast and hashbrowns, two French toast and biscuits and gravy. I wasn't to keen on the French toast. The food was good and everyone was friendly. One star removed because their games kept taking my grandson's quarters lol.

The food 10/10. The service 15/10. The ambience 10/10. Great vibe, no frills, good energy place with great food!!
