Hillside Supermarket

Hillside is close to home, clean and bum free. No vagrants standing outside to approach you and no alcohol or tobacco products sold to attract them! Most items are slightly overpriced but, gas to Fresno, Madera, or Oakhurst could easily eat up the savings if only shopping for a few items. Fresh veggies usually look great and the bins are well kept. The meat from the butcher is top quality Angus beef and awesome cuts. Milk and cereal are so overpriced that I make certain to plan for those elsewhere. Other than the prices, this place would earn 5 stars.

If you guys can't help somebody in the deli, you should close it. It's February 28th 2025 , about 330 so you can check your record. Whatever young man is working in the deli probably shouldn't be there, I don't know if there's a sign he can hold or a chair he could sit on to keep it from floating away, but those would be much better uses of this individual's talent. I was the only person trying to get some lunch meat and I was told that it's gonna be a a while....... My goodness this isn't that complicated. I've lived up here for over 20 years. I rather enjoy the market, but some of these younger kids that are working there I'm not sure if they're helping you guys much. So I got crappy lunch meat that was pre-package rather than venting my frustration and complete lack of faith in young people with a young man behind the counter.

Great people. Great prices. Local is not always good when you live in the boondocks. In this case local is better than shopping on line or out of the area. These people care. Another products and prices reflect that care for their customers.

I would give them zero stars if I could. The manager here is horrible. The store is always filthy. The workers look miserable under his management. Expired food and not enough workers ever. Probably because they can't stand to work under the horrible management. The whole store is just dingy. Rather go into Fresno than here.

They are open till 9, always my go-to! For every item I need... Great selection of meat, produce and anything else!

I don't know why there are negative reviews for this store. It's normal for a smaller store with less volume sales to have higher prices. I go there when I don't want to drive further or to get one of their delicious burgers from the deli. Their double cheeseburger is awesome.

How does this place stay open? People with a dui that can't leave the area with their vehicle? Suckers that don't want to drive North or South? Beats me.The prices here are absolutely outrageous. I've seen some bad stores, this one? Hold my beer and watch how much you'll be charged for basic Staples. The deli and grill has got it going, otherwise that's it. Customer service needs improvement. A good friend who was with me could not carry his basket outside to put groceries in my car. Apparently this is against store policy? Aisles get a little messy at times as well too. It's the last resort kind of stop. Always go to Fresno if you have useful energy to and the ability to.

I order 3 double Chicken sandwiches & I got 3 orders of singles burgers not chicken. This already happen twice & I called about it & they said would transfer me to the deli but never picked up. I payed extra for a double chicken& only received a single burger.

I think phone ettiequte could be better when calling back to the deli to place an order for pick-up. My husband and I have enjoyed our food the handful of times we've ordered though.

I think this store is great. Yes, expensive, but it's a grocery store in a remote area. They do a good job keeping the shelves filled and some of the people are wonderful. Yes, sometimes they close early, not convenient, but this so a small town. I'm thankful for this store and love that it's in YLP!
