Handel's Home Made Ice Cream

We went here on a Friday and had to return on Saturday to try more flavors. Everything you order is extra large so don't get fooled by getting too much. Because who would want too much ice creme? We also tried the shakes and they were also great, mostly ice creme, make sure you get a spoon.Service was quick and friendly. Only one person on Friday and three on Saturday.The selection is incredible and I would try almost everything, given the time.The ambiance is mostly white and a little sterile looking. There are not a lot of places to sit so this is definitely a buy-and-go place.If you order what you like you won't be disappointed!

We decided to check this place out after leaving Annesso last night. I've tried Handel's only once before, in Santa Clarita-- I liked it very much there. Last night's visit was good...... but, not the best I've ever had. First, I feel like they could've done so much more with the place. It wasn't very cute to look at for an ice cream shop. Just some very big ice cream menus and their logo. A few seating options inside and outside. Just meh. Second, staff was okay. Didn't greet us as we walked in, guy at the register was nice though. Another case of... just there for the paycheck. When you work with something as joyful as ice cream.... you better be serving me up some smiles as well. No? Finally, the ice cream. I ordered the Mint Chocolate Chip on a cake cone. My friends got the Birthday Cake and the Cherry Cardinal. Did not expect to get so much ice cream for one serving. Normally, that would be a plus for us but we jusssst had dinner so it was an overkill lol (but I still finished it). It was a touch messy though. I wish the scoops were cuter. Some people may not care-- ice cream is ice cream... but I do. I enjoy taking my ice cream photos. My scoops weren't bad but my friends scoops... eesh! Lol I did the best I could to capture it. I wish they had the Ube flavor I tried off my sister in Santa Clarita. Once they do... I'll be back. Other than that-- I think trying them off this one visit was enough. The ice cream is good, don't get me wrong, but not the best. There's a clear winner in my mind right now and it's going to take a lot to change that. If you're in the area and and feeling like a sweet treat-- check them out though!! Huge variety!

Went for the first time today and tried the caramel coconut flavor and the banana cream flavor. Both were overly sweet and on the heavy side. My husband got the coffee chocolate chip flavor chocolate chunk made into a sundae. He loved his and said the chocolate fudge sauce was excellent. Portions were big. I ordered a small and it was plenty for me, and because it was really sweet I ended up throwing it away. They have some sorbet on their menu, so that may be the way to go if you like less sweet. Service was excellent. We were able to taste flavors if we wanted. A small area inside to eat your ice cream there. Bottom line, they have a lot of flavors to choose from, and if you like heavier, creamier ice cream you might give it a try. For me I prefer the fresher tasting lighter ice cream.

Came in with a few parties ahead of and there was only one employee working. She was hustling to take orders and then scoop so it took a bit longer. We waited for about 5-7 once we got to the register to order. She apologized and thanked us for our patience. At this time, another worker came in from the back and the line curved into the shop because no one wanted to be outside since it was pretty cold. We ordered the sampler for $7.95 which is the best bang for your buck! It gets you 4 hefty scoops of any flavor. We tried the banana cream pie, rocky road, butter pecan, and heavenly hash. The butter pecan had one pecan in it and the rocky road had no marshmallows in it and definitely didn't have the texture as seen in the picture. Usually rocky road is filled with almonds and marshmallows and we got none of those in the scoop. Im glad we did the sampler so that we got an opportunity to try several instead of just one. If I were stuck with the rocky road, I would have just given it to my husband. I can't do straight chocolate ice cream. Inside feels like a nostalgic old school ice cream shop. There are blue benches and some countertops. Probably not the best for very large groups although they have a community table in the middle. More space inside than Clovis Ampersand if that helps at all. I still like Ampersand quality and freshness better. Handles is a better bargain, though!

Hands down the best ice cream. Only been open 5 weeks now my first time trying. Lots of great flavors.Already pre made flavors. The service was friendly the staff was knowledgeable. There is 100 flavors and handmade which makes it so good. The cones tastes fresh. Long lines on the weekend. Word is getting out.

If you know about Handle's, you love them. I first experienced this franchise when I was down in San Diego, and was absolutely blown away by their flavor combinations and creamy rich ice cream.I visited this location at 6:30 pm on a Monday night. The place was virtually empty, and everything was incredibly clean. I was immediately greeted by this wonderfully kind girl. She walked me through the menu, and explained all of my options. Tonight I chose the lemon bar ice cream. It was delicious! It had a beautiful tang and a wonderfully rich sweet creamy lemon flavor. It was honestly just a joy to eat, and I instantly regretted not getting a bigger size. If you haven't checked out this place, it's totally worth it. This is one of those places that produces a great product, and with so many combinations and flavors, you'll never get bored.

On our way to our dinner date we saw this place and said we would check it out after. We went inside and instantly we were in wow with all the flavors. They have sorbets too! We mentioned to the staff it was our first time and she told us how the sizes worked. We went with small scoops, which are 2.5 scoops, and omg it was a lot. They might of gave us an extra one because it was huge. They have different cones that are also coated with chocolate, vanilla, sprinkles. We loved our ice creams. I like the clean, simple look and how it's opened. They have some sitting outside and inside. Definitely will be back!

Handle's is new to Fresno. I loved the consistency of the ice cream and tried the Carmel pretzel crunch, birthday cake, and chocolate peanut butter brownie. The 4-scoop sampler is the way to go! The inside isn't super welcoming to sit and enjoy your ice cream but I would go back!

took my friend out for some delicious homemade ice cream. It's a franchise that started in Ohio and they make the ice cream on site. Great prices. I tried butter pecan. So creamy. A small waffle cone was 3 scoops of one flavor for $5.75

What a great find in Fresno! I am addicted! First of all the ice cream is pure quality and the size of the monster shake is amazing for the price. Our tall scooper was helpful and patient because there are so many choices to choose from. He offered great information on the choices since he said he also makes the ice cream for the store on other days. I've been here when it's packed and noisy with like a 10-15 minute wait and when it was empty. Regardless, it's so worth it! The pink shirts for Valentines were a nice touch.
