Halau Hula I Ka La is the perfect place to learn beyond the surface meaning of ALOHA. This is the place where we learn not only how to Hula but to understand our Hula, learn the history of Hawai'i, learn the language, learn the traditions of the past and the present. We then take what we learn and we share our ALOHA with our community because Hula is meant to be shared. We come from different walks in life, different age groups, different abilities... But we share one passion!! We are Hawaiians at heart longing to share all that we learn here under the direction of our awesome Kumu, Joydee Padua. Come visit us! We are one big 'Ohana sharing this wonderful journey...

When you find something you love, hold onto it! This is a happy place for so many. Many aspects of Hula to learn through the classes offered by Kumu Joy. The kids classes are fun for the kids and for the parents to watch. They are the cutest of all performers! A great option for event performance/entertainment. The group also offers different events throughout the year for many to enjoy without long term commitment.

Never would u have thought about dancing hula in my life! My daughter starting dancing first. It was always enjoyable to see how much fun she was having. But, seeing how much fun the Hula Moms were having, too, made me think "should I?" I was really hesitant to "try it." But, that very first time I did go on the floor, I was not only encouraged by the other Hula Moms... I was greeted with so much love and laughter! It was then that I realized "I found a new home."If you are looking for a place where there is lots of love, fun, happiness, encouragement, and support... in AND outside of hula, this is truly the place to be. It is where true Aloha and Ohana is being taught and shared. This Ka La Ohana IS my "family away from home."

This is way more than just a Hula school! This is a Hula family made up of people from many different walks of life, all ages, and any experience level that welcomes everyone and anyone with open arms...true aloha. Kumu Joydee's passion and dedication to celebrating and sharing the Hawaiian culture is so clearly evident in her teaching style and her approach with her students and the community. Never did I think I would one day be involved with a Hula family, but now that I am I can't imagine not having these awesome experiences and amazing people in my life.
