Hair N Motion

I went to Hair N Motion for the first time today, at the spur of the moment. I needed a hair cut and wanted highlights, so I called and luckily they were able to fit me in 30 minutes later. I saw Jill, and I only have two (minor) complaints: 1) She wasn't super gentle on my hair and I heard it breaking as she was combing it. 2) Depending on how I style my hair, the highlights can be VERY noticeable -- there is a definite line between my natural dark blonde color and the new light blonde color. That being said, though, I'm sure the color will start to blend in better after a couple days, and I just have to be a little more careful about how I style it. I really would like to give Hair N Motion 4.5 stars, but unfortunately that's not an option. The stylists were all friendly and funny, and it was a nice experience talking to them and listening to them. They seem like a big family. They have drinks and snacks available for clients while they are waiting. The salon is small, but well organized and clean. The nail girl seems really popular -- she had a stream of clients back to back during the two hours that I was there. Overall, I recommend Hair N Motion if you're looking for a new place to get your hair styled. It is staffed by friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient stylists, and they didn't try to push products on me like at most salons. Two thumbs up!

Came for a perm and hair cut with Rose. She was GREAT! And was out in less than 2 hrs. She is very nice and listens to what you want/like. I'm very happy and will return!

Got my hair whacked and shellac'ed yest by my amazing hairdresser Joanie. I told her, I know this is a 4+ hours job, but girl, I gotta git in 2 hours, can you handle it? She DID!Two hours later, my waist-long hair was colored from roots to tips, trimmed and blown out to Cher hair. It's all good for 1/2 the cost of the Bay Area!~Ms. Ali

I have been going to Joanie for over 34years both at this salon and prior. She does an awesome job. When she was ill this year Joey filled in and did her clientele and he also did a fabulous job. The whole salon is very friendly and all of the stylists do excellent work. They are super attentive to elderly and disabled clients which not all salons are great at doing. Joani also cuts and colors my daughters as well as my sisters hair as well. My hair is always cut and styled the way I like it and she does a great job with colors as well. Highly recommend it.

I went to see Jonie after seeing the amazing job she had done with my mom. The place had that "at home feeling". Such a friendly staff! Jonie did and amazing job on my mom's hair and then worked her wonders with mine :)She did the Brazilian Keratin Hair Treatment and a cut on me. She was full of information for me and did such a wonderful job on my hair. I will be going back to see her when it's time to have it done again and I highly recommend her to anyone that is concerned they may have a bad experience. She is amazing and you won't regret going to see her! Oh! And,..... she charged me pennies compared to what I had been quoted elsewhere!!!

I came here religiously while I was in highschool, I have to say that the owner Jonie was always a doll. She was nice and took great care of me my two sisters and my mother. When I felt the blonde crave coming on I always had to come here to get it, no one quite bleached me the way she did. Also in highschool I was a huge gamer and she gave me no slack when I came in with a video game guide and uttered to her "I want that" as I pointed to an animated picture...3 hours later I had it...and I loved it. Fair prices ALWAYS and the products were NEVER overpriced. Definitely check it out...its in my lovely (yes a bit dirty) asian shopping center...BUT this salon is clean and you will not be disappointed.

Well... Here we go... I followed and trusted the reviews I read here. I made an appointment with Jonie (very nice lady btw) and even took a picture of the long layers I wanted. My hair was NOTHING AT ALL to what I wanted or asked for. My hair cut is blocky! EVERY LAYER IS A LINE! Not blended or textured. She is a very nice lady and i'm sure she had good intentions but I'm having to now pay someone else to fix my hair. Not happy at all, even a little sick to my stomach.

JOANIE JOANIE JOANIE...EXCELLENT COLOR SPECIALISTS!!! I had a horrible experience at Reflections Salon by an inexperienced hair stylist there. I started reading about how great JOANIE was on other Yelpers....so I decided to try her out. I went in for a consult for my color correction job from hell and came out with fabulous color! I didn't give it 5 stars only because, the salon/atmosphere wasn't the best...but I'd rather have experience over atmosphere any day!

I actually only know one person here: Joey. He does a FAN-Tastic job with short hair. I saw a girl working at Trader Joe's with a really cute haircut-- short but wispy and feminine-- and found out Joey did it (which is how I found out about him). He is great at color and cuts, and always washes your hair first which feels great! Sometimes an annoying salesperson is in there trying to sell handbags or candybars, which is the reason I'm giving this place a 4 out of 5-- I don't want to be solicited for money while I'm getting my hair done!!
