Good Fill

Thank you Good Fill! So excited for this business in Downtown Fresno. I had been wanting to try this out for a few years and finally made it to their lovely location in the SunStereo Warehouse building on Fulton on a Friday evening. Friendly greeting when you walk in, The Downtown Society Collective shop is so cute and the first thing you see when you enter the building. Small space but everything is easy to see and you can easily move around the shop. The great shop host showed me how the Good Fill process works. You first weigh your empty containers (there are a few recycled containers there as well), write down the tare weight on the dry erase clip board and then fill up and weigh again. I had 3 containers with me and chose a hand soap, body wash, and lotion fill. The body wash has an amazing citrus scent and the lavendar lotion is so awesome, feels good and has a lovely scent. I wasn't sure of the pricing so I didn't fill up each container but I was pleasantly surprised at the value and next time I will fill up my containers to the top. Love this concept, so glad we have it in Fresno and hope they continue to add fill up liquids, maybe bubble bath, hand sanitizer, or cleaning conentrate. Will be back soon. Found a lot of lovely gifts in the shop as well.

I'm a vote with your money and vote with your Yelp kinda gal, and Good Fill, while it's a small operation located inside of a plant store/woman-owned business co-op, it's got all the essentials with options! The premise is that when you run out of your hygiene products (shampoo, body wash, lotion, etc), instead of throwing out the plastic bottle and buying a new one at Target, you reuse your empty bottle and refill it with one of the options at the store. I've done self-service refill of unscented lotion, and recently went to refill my bodywash with a lovely orange scented bodywash. Price-wise, my bodywash came out to $9, which is more expensive than buying new. But, hear me out, a little goes a long way and the lather on it is much better than what I've been using. There's a good assortment of other eco friendly products like bamboo toothbrushes, non-plastic loofahs, solid block dish soaps. While the Good Fill is not necessary a place to get the best value, it's a great step towards making the world a little more eco-friendly by helping Fresnans to reduce waste and reuse what you have. I'd love to see this store succeed and grow to provide more options for consumers!
