Review #8352025-006I've never been to Golden Harbor Buffet whenever I've visited my relatives in Fresno, except for 2 occasions in sadness (post-funeral receptions). Opened pre-COVID-19 5 years ago, GHB serves Chinese, American, Mexican foods with Japanese sushi. The restaurant is located on the west end of West Acres Shopping Center. The dining room is deceptive in size, hiding several private dining spaces, including the large room (seats 150?) that held my beloved Aunt's reception.I selected mostly Chinese dishes. I loved the Chinese Broccoli & filled 1/2 my plate with it along with Steamed Bass (last portion was slightly rubbery), Ho Fun (noodles were overcooked so they're broken), Braised Beef (last portion was a little dry) that I topped with some Chili Oil without dripping onto the Custard Bun (tasty bite of creamy custard) with a 2nd plate of specialty rolls, tuna & salmon nigiris, tamago sushi (fresh Sushi Boy-quality sushi), & bowl of Hot & Sour Soup (yummy but mild "hot" heat). Reusing my sushi plate, I went back for a 2nd round, adding fruits: Honeydew & Pineapple, Mango Pudding & Strawberry Jello, & bowl of Tapioca (mild, watery concoction with clumpy mini tapioca pearls; should be creamy & milky with vanilla/pandan, coconut taste). I washed down my lunch with a well-made Arnold Palmer. 2 stations I didn't try was the Pho/Ramen & Taco.Buffet prices are really affordable for the quantity & quality of food choices! I didn't expect 1 YOs to be charged (how much can they really eat); another posted prices pic 5 years ago & they remained the same -- wowza! Though I'm unsure of the actual price since my cousins took care of the bill. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We had 1 amazing server handling drinks order & clean-up for most of our lunch; for the turnaround, she was pretty efficient! If the website's prices are accurate, I can imagine Golden Harbor Buffet having parking issues on the weekends.I believe some of the entrees, sides, & desserts (there used to be a chocolate fountain) rotate, I would recommend trying this buffet if you're in the area, & suggest selecting hot foods that are freshly plated or mostly new, not less than half empty ones (been sitting awhile).Buffet Prices (January 2025):Lunch: Regular: $12.99, Senior: $11.99, Child: $2.99 (1 YO) , $4.99 (2-3), $8.99 (4-7), $10.99 (8-10)Dinner: Regular: $16.99, Senior: $15.99, Child: $3.99 (1 YO) , $5.99 (2-3), $10.99 (4-7), $12.99 (8-10)Weekends: $17.99Drinks (soda, hot tea, coffee): 99¢Dim Sum: Sponge Cake, Sticky Rice, Shiu Mai, Chicken Feet, Beef Louver, Honeycomb Tripe; Buns: Peach (actually looks like one), Taro, Custard, Twisted RollEntrees & Sides: Fried Crab, Steamed Chicken & Bass, Braised Beef, Orange Chicken, Stir-Fried Chinese Cauliflower, Green Beans, Ho Fun, Chow Mein, Calamari, Potato Skins, FriesSoups: Shrimp with Vegetables, Hot & Sour, Seafood, MisoFruits: Honeydew, Mango, Pineapple, Orange, Lemon, BananaDesserts: Puddings: Honeydew, Strawberry, Mango; Strawberry Jello; Ice Cream: Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Rainbow Sherbet; Ice Cream Crepe + Cotton Candy station; Rainbow Rice Crispy & Raisin Crisp Treats; Chocolate Cake; Tiramisu; Vanilla Roll; Tapioca; Egg Tarts; Sesame Balls; Fried Donuts

This pricey buffet is strictly hit or miss. Vast assortment of food. Maybe it's fresh and hot or maybe not. Either way it's going to be pricey. Service is spotty at best.

Stopped by for dinner with some local friends because we were told it's the best buffet in the area. It was okay. The options were plenty though the actual quality wasn't anything to be desired. I usually like to try a little of everything when trying out a buffet but I did not at this location. Some of the options just did not look worth it.I did like their little dim sum area with the roast duck. That's probably one option that was different from most Chinese buffets but can totally be missed since it's hidden in a little corner. Service was almost non existent. We ended up getting refills from a busser who we saw having to help the tables around us as well. I get why they have you pay before seating because they've already got your money. No need to provide service. It was annoying and I hope the busser received our cash tip. She ended up disappearing too.

Definitely okay! Lines were long when we came at 2pm! You walk in, get on the line on the right to pay, and then move to the left line to be seated. Expect to wait about 10-15 minutes if it's busy. For about $30 a person, I can't say that I'll be coming back here. My mom, on the other hand, really enjoyed Golden Harbor! She absolutely loves seafood, and was fully taking advantage of the fact that this is a buffet. There's a really wide variety of food! Sushi, seafood, pho/ramen, buns, and desserts line each table. Something really nice was the chocolate fountain and also there is an employee that makes crepes and wraps it around a scoop of ice cream for you. Also, cleanliness will always be an issue with buffets because people will mix serving spoons and such. I had an allergic reaction here (this did not bring the rating down in any way btw) but if you have allergies proceed with caution!!

Golden Harbor boasts an impressive selection of food, but unfortunately, nothing truly stands out. I tried the jalapeño chicken, one of my favorites, and was disappointed to find it lukewarm. The sushi options were underwhelming--mostly rice and imitation crab with no rolls worth a second bite. The saving grace of my visit was the made-to-order noodles. They were phenomenal and the only reason I'd consider coming back. Service, on the other hand, was nearly non-existent. I found myself searching for a server just to get a drink refill. While the buffet is spacious and accommodating for large groups, the $35 price tag on a Saturday makes it a "maybe" at best. Golden Harbor might work for special occasions, but it's not a spot I'd visit regularly.

The food is not good. They won't refill your drinks. I got sick eating here. When we walked in they had a sign advertising lobster and that's why they were charging 10 dollars extra that day and there was no lobster.

It'll be a long time before I come back here. I like coming here on a random weekday for lunch so I don't have to really decide on what to eat. The price, however, keeps creeping up.I decided to bring the kids here on a lazy Saturday to be greeted by a near $90 bill for one adult and two eleven years old children, no drinks. There were a few options here that are generally not here on weekdays, and honestly, the price for me was worth it. The price for the kids, however, was extremely high.
