Love this gem of a place where the peaches, negaterines and plums are fresh right out of the packing shed. Their fruit last a long time and is full of flavor not to mention nicely packed in lugs!

Large fruit stand on a working farm. Large selection of ripe and soon to be ripe fruit. Who knew there were so many varieties of peaches! Samples too! Nice girl packed an assorted box for us. Peaches, nectarines and plums. Just $13 for a large box. I see pie baking in my future.

As crazy as it may sound, I took my family on a day trip from Los Angeles to get some farm-fresh peaches choosing not to visit any of the Southern California farms because I wanted to get to the REAL source of the MOST delicious fruit - FRESNO! I selected Friesen Farm because of their informative website and helpfulness over the phone. Coming from a long ways, I was unsure if they would have any peaches left so I was very glad to reserve an order by phone. When I arrived 4 hours later (cell signal was solid the entire way so you can't get lost), a modest crowd was there and the Friesen team was hard at work fulfilling their orders. I saw them pack boxes of nectarines, peaches, and plums by hand (COVID precautions prevented us customers from selecting our own). While waiting, I saw my order (3 bags) were ready for pick up, but the irresistible smell of their fruit compelled me to purchase more (I had to make the 250 mile drive worthwhile, right?). The associate (owner?) who was helping me assured me that it was no trouble to return all the fruit from my previous order and pack the boxes I wanted to take home. While packing my boxes, we engaged in some small talk and she convinced me that I must return late February to see the blossoms. By the look in her eye, and the excitement in her voice I could tell that it was a must-see spectacle so I hope she remembers me when I come back in 2021! But something makes me think I will be back before then to get more fruit here. Now the fruit is indescribably delicious! I could use all the superlatives to describe how tasty they are, but it's exactly like when you say, "The pictures don't do it justice; you just have to be there to believe it." when sharing your vacation photos. They are juicy, fragrant, and sweet as candy. As she packed my boxes, she made sure there was a fair mixture of ready-to-eat fruit and some that would ripen in 2-4 days. That was such a thoughtful gesture that made me feel respected. It should be noted that none of the fruit I purchased were organic. Not sure if they offer any, but that might be something that matters to you. Also, I did not see any restrooms but they could be available. The parking lot was small (maybe 4-6 cars), and there's no gift shop or attractions here: You're here for the fruit. Lastly, I must say that their prices are VERY fair. If I was a Fresno or Tulare County resident, I would be a regular customer because I couldn't imagine paying more for less quality fruit from the supermarkets. I'm not comfortable sharing their prices here in this review because it may be market-dependent (and they don't list them on their website), so contact them and don't be surprised if you buy more than what you planning to. We all gotta support our local farmers!

The thing is, the beautiful Fresno County Blossom Trail, famous for its Springtime displays, http://www.gofresnocounty.com/blossomtrail/blossomindex.asp, should also be known as the Fruit Trail. After all, blossoms *do* become summer fruit, and the Fresno area has the perfect climate for some of the most prolific, sweet fruit in California.Friesen's is one of many seasonal fruit stands located along that trail. And there are many. Some are big enough for big commercial ventures, some little roadside stands. Friesen's is big, very big. But they also have a roadside stand. And their peaches and nectarines are big and juicy and sweet. Don't take my word for it, just ask for samples. If you check their website, you will discover which fruits are currently being picked: peaches, nectarines, apricots, and/or plums. Regardless, you will not be disappointed. Now keep in mind, the weather is far from desirable during picking season. July-August is downright devilishly hot. So make sure your car air conditioning is working well, and bring plenty of water. And maybe an ice chest. And, so, my friends, leap in your car, seize the day, and find yourself buying way too much fruit than is humanly possible to eat, and maybe a jar of jam, cobbler, or pie, too. Those chain grocery stores simply cannot compete.

I read online that calling your order in was recommended, so I did just that. They were very responsive, and my fruit boxes were ready to go by the time i got there. I was greeted by two sweet girls, who were so nice and accommodating to what I wanted. We went home with two big boxes of peaches and nectarines. Each box was only $12, and there had to be at least 40+ fruits in each box. Fruits were so crisp and sweet! What a turn off the beaten path. ;)

Whenever we visit family in Selma (traveling from OC), we love stopping by for the tastiest stone fruit around! Several varieties of peaches, nectarines, plums, and pluots. The service is always awesome. We end up taking orders from family members and can place an order via email. Thanks Friesen Family!
