Fremont House

We stayed in Mariposa for our visit to Yosemite and loved the town. Of course, as a good tourist, pictures are not enough to prove we were there and wanted unique T-shirts and sweatshirts to wear at home and remember our visit. The options inside Yosemite were just OK. Nothing too special. We heard that Fremont House was a solid choice for wearables. So we gave it a shot.We should have just started and ended there! First, great staff who were able to help in all kinds of ways. We would go again because it was so nice to find a store where the people working there seemed to care about the store and the products. They were awesome!Next, tremendous selection of wearables focused on both Yosemite and Mariposa. They are very different, unique and fun - much more interesting than we found in the Park. The folks helping us even spent time talking about their designs, shirt colors, etc. Prices were so reasonable and it was great knowing we were supporting local businesses with an eye toward the fashions that customers want. IF you are going to Yosemite and find yourself close to Mariposa, save yourself the LONG, SLOW checkout lines for mass produced souvenirs in the Park and buy from Fremont House. You will spend your time and money with people who you will come to know and realize they care about items that you will enjoy wearing.

Lots of t-shirts to choose from with options for long sleeve shirts and sweaters. Lots of shoe options as well including brands such as Birkenstocks and Teva's. The owners were police and engaged in light conversation.

Went into store, sales person was on phone. She did not acknowledge us at all. After about 3 to 4 minutes she hung up. She still did not greet us or say anything. I am not going to spend my money where the people do not want my business.

This is our local small town shoe and western clothing store with a great selection of top quality products. I went there to get my wife some shoes and they were very nice. Weekends can get very crowded so go on a weekday if you can.

Very helpful staff and easy to work with. The selection was updated and they sell a great selection of Merrell hiking shoes, books, and trailer runners. They even have a great selection of those hideous Keen'sif you like those. My wife loves the Berks for some reason and was happy with their selection of them also. Local decal shirts if your into that also. Priced fair and a nice shop.

This is the perfect place to get your perfect country western attire, especially if you're going to the Mariposa County Fair. The clothing and boots can be a little pricey, but they are quality. You get what you pay for. The owners are super nice and always willing to help out and give you advise. There is a curtained dressing room available to get your perfect fit. They are located on the main boardwalk, don't pass them by. Street parking is available in front and on the side of their building.

Customer service rocks - especially in their shoe department. Prices are good for shoes. Glad we have this store in Mariposa!

Beautiful store with really quality choices of clothing and shoes. I picked up a couple Yosemite T-shirts at reasonable prices, but they also have high end clothing, accessories, and shoes. Great customer service and info from the friendly owner!
