Savourys, Mariposa: 2025 Feb 25 (5 of 5)Several of our neighbours gave this place high praises, so we thought we'd check out this eatery for ourselves. The restaurant is easy to locate. It's right along the main stretch. Parking can be a challenge but we found a perfect spot to park for the evening. Lisa, who sat us, was charming and friendly. We chose a corner table by the windows. The tables are neatly spread out so you're not knocking elbows with other patrons. (5 of 5)Once we were seated, we were welcomed with a tall glass of water, bread and oil dip.The Food:Roasted Garlic Oil & Bread: This simple offering was delicious. (4.5 of 5)The main dishes comes with soup or salad. We chose one of each to share between us.Broccoli Soup: The soup was a tad watered-down and a little under-seasoned but still has an earthy flavour with a mild sweetness. (4.5 of 5)Blue Cheese Salad: Blue cheese has a strong, pungent, and tangy flavor, and is quite salty, but this salad has well-distributed ingredients that made it sweet and savoury at the same time. It's one of the best we've tried. (5 of 5)Maple Leaf Duck Breast: Well-seasoned but a little over. Green beans absolutely delicious. Sauce was over-salted. Onions oh so good. Duck meat can be slightly "gamey" but when cooked properly, the taste is rich and savoury. Personally, I thought the duck should have come out sooner but the taste is still incredibly flavourful. I opted for rice with my dish. The rice is cooked through nicely. The green beans that came with this dish is the best I've had. They're properly cooked through without showing any wrinkles or burnt marks. The sauce was a little salty for my taste but, overall, a truly satisfying meal. (4.75 of 5). Osso Bucco: Oh my, the meat slides off the bone - tender and juicy. Even the potato is well prepared, with enough salt on the skin. Again, tender green beans made this dish superb. (5 of 5)Will we be back? Absolutely. Even though some of the food didn't get full marks, our overall experience made this a 5 of 5.

I hadn't eaten here in almost a decade. They have changed owners since my last time here and I am glad to see report that it was still a lovely experience.I love the antique bar and hostess station they have added to give the space a more "western" or "gold rush town" feel. The hostess, Patience, was soooo sweet and welcoming. She was a delight to talk to.Our server was fine - not overly friendly or enthusiastic, but not a total dud either. She perhaps could have used a bit more personality for my taste, being in a hospitality role. The meal was wonderful. My butternut squash soup (soup of the day) was flavorful and hot.I got the duck, and while the menu said raspberry onion jam for the sauce - it was more like sweet pickled onions. They were still very good.My mom had the salmon. Soooo moist and flavorful.Chocolate torte for my birthday dessert. We will be back.

5 star dining in Mariposa? Mission accomplished. We had a family dinner there last month and our experience was fantastic. My New York Steak was cooked to perfection. We will return when we return to Mariposa in a couple of months.

My husband and I decided to spend the weekend in Mariposa, which really is a charming town. Savourys is one of the restaurants we decided to eat at and we had a great meal. The ambiance is so romantic that spending our anniversary there was perfect. I had a bacon wrapped dates, delicious, lentils soup, lobster tail, and panna cotta. It was a solid meal. The staff is wonderful.

Frederick's is one of the best restaurants in Mariposa! This is a nicer establishment with a classy atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is on the expensive side but the flavors in each dish is delectable. I got the scallops which were cooked to perfection, the mashed potato's and carrots were pretty standard but paired well. I would come back here for a nice night out

I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my recent visit. While the hostess was accommodating and swiftly seated us with water and complimentary bread, the experience declined when our waiter, possibly named Taylor, appeared disinterested. Her demeanor and delayed service, including no water refills, were disappointing. My friend and I waited for 15min before she showed up at our table to take our order. After finishing our meal, we waited another 15-20 minutes before she came over with the check. Deciding on a 10% tip, we were surprised when the bill arrived with a mandatory 20% service fee. We did not see that there is a mandatory service charge on the menu before we order. And we are a party of 2. This unilateral decision on tipping seemed presumptuous. Despite appealing decor and decent, albeit pricey, food, the overall rating is 2 out of 5.

From the moment we walked in the customer service was absolutely wonderful! Everyone was super nice and greeted us with a smile! The portobello mushroom was absolutely devine! The steak was cooked to perfection! The Chipotle pasta with prawns was the perfect blend of creamy and spicey with fat juicy prawns. I highly recommend this spot and can't wait to come back!

Visiting "framily" in Mariposa, they treated us to dinner at Savoury's. First impressions upon entering the establishment--YES! The victorian gothic elegance is just our style. From the beautiful wood bar to the colorful amulet chandeliers, this is a place we would frequent if only we lived closer. Alas, we are, in fact, here for the food. So let's go! First, we were offered warm, delish bread with olive oil, vinegar, and roasted garlic. Very good bread! (I suggest the owners check the olive oil company across the street, CostaLivos, and work a deal to co-market, because their oils and vinegars are so yummy! But that's for another review!) We ordered the bacon-wrapped dates and blue cheese and bacon dip for starters. The dates were very good, drizzled with a balsamic reduction. Sweet and savory! Personally, I like the bacon a little less crispy, but I still had two of the six pieces! The blue cheese dip is a crowd pleaser! For me, it's too rich, but I was definitely the odd person out in my opinion. Then dinner. Our party of five had the scallops, NY steak Diane, two filets, and the ginger cilantro pasta with prawns. All come with a choice of soup or salad; baked, mashed, or French fried potatoes or rice, and a veggie--this night, green beans. (No veggie with the pasta.)I had the scallops. They were perfectly seasoned and that created a slightly crispy crust on the perfectly seared mollusks. These were served in a garlic herb cream sauce that was so good I dipped my baked potato skins in it. The green beans were fresh and maybe slightly overcooked, but still yummy. I had an inedible tip on one of my beams and noticed a co-diner had an entire inedible string of green bean. Not a deal-breaker for a five star review, but something the prep team should be aware of. Both filets were cooked to our diner's wishes--one medium rare and one medium. Both raved about thier meals. Same with the rare NY--he even commented that it was truly rare--not often attainable in restaurants these days. And lastly, my husband had the pasta. Because we weren't sitting near each other, I have to take his work that it was cooked al dente with moist prawns and quite tasty. Lastly, the service was great! We had several people checking on us, and each was concerned that we had an excellent meal. We will be back on future visits to Mariposa!

It has an excellent atmosphere and a well-priced menu. The food was delicious, well served, and brought promptly. The staff are very friendly and polite. We are on vacation for a couple of days here, but we would certainly come again, given the chance. Highly recommended.
