Service was on point (even with a large lunch party that came in). Been here numerous times and the food never fails. It's delicious. (Steak, sushi bowl, salad).Cassidy (bartender) makes a great Old Fashioned. Servers didn't stop moving the whole time I was there.

Since I was visiting Turlock for work trip, I came to try the sushi rolls. To my expectation, it was okay. The rice ratio was too much and the rice felt mushy. The sushi roll fell apart and it didn't taste that great.Would come back to try other things since not much options in Turlock.

Been looking forward to the chance to try out this place after looking at the menu for weeks. The menu looks super promising and a great variety. Sadly it was a disappointing lunch. Basically everything was bad besides the fact that we got lucky with parking. To start it all off and to set the scene for you yelp readers, the whole time we were there it was dead silent, no music was playing. It made the environment feel awkward because it felt like everyone next to us could hear every word we say and vice versa. We first ordered cocktails and appetizers. We got the Cali Heat, Mexican Firing Squad, and a Michelob Ultra. The beer we received was the wrong one, my husband said it didn't taste like a Michelob but we didn't say anything and sure enough on the bill it said "Coors Light." And then I'm positive that we didn't get the Mexican Firing Squad, looking at other yelp photos on here, my drink looked nothing like everyone else's Mexican Firing Squad. I even questioned why it was the color it was when I received it because looking at the ingredients on the menu, I didn't understand where the purple color of the drink came from. Although the Cali Heat was correct, it wasn't the best. It lacks that balance in Mezcal-to-agave ratio.Moving on to appetizers, we ordered the cucumber salad, crunch sushi roll, and wagyu dumplings. The dumplings were definitely the only star of the show this lunch outing. If you want to play it safe get those. On the other hand, the cucumber salad was such an inconvenience to eat. It comes in a spiral cut but it should be easy to come apart still, not these ones. I had to cut up the cucumber as if it was steak so that way we were able to take an actual bite. Flavoring was also nothing unique. Lastly, the crunch roll was just awful. My husband said it tasted as if it was frozen previously. I feel like it was the exact same sushi they serve at Safeway in the Deli. Our entrees arrived and that was just the cherry on top for the experience. We got the Skirt Steak & Truffle fries and the Thai Shrimp Coconut Curry. The hopes were very high for these entrees but they just didn't fulfill the expectations. We ordered a medium cook on the steak, ended up being far from medium. The seasoning on the steak was burnt off and the truffle fries had minimal truffle flavor. The Thai Shrimp was the most saddening because there was so much potential there. I love curry and this dish lacked so much of that authentic curry seasoning, it was bland. The coconut rice had only just a hint of coconut. And to finish it off, I didn't know if the tails were suppose to be on or off on my shrimp because I had a mix of both in my dish. Really inconvenient to have to be on the look out for the tails, wouldn't recommend. Of course we ended up skipping out on dessert, it's not worth another let down. This place has a variety of different Asian fusion flavors provided on the menu, but it cannot execute one. It's not worth coming back for a round 2.

We went here for a family birthday and had a wonderful time! It was our first time most of us had been there. The service was great as our server was delightful, cheerful and on point! Atmosphere was very nice great for a date of some sort! The food was excellent as they have a diverse menu from ramen to steaks and even sushi! We enjoyed great cocktails, beer, and wine! You may not want to bring the family as it a little pricey! I definitely will be back to enjoy First and Main again!

I had the chicken sandwich and I got food poisoning after. You can tell that the tuna is not sushi grade which is dangerous to be serving to people raw. It tries to be upscale but it is not and they still charge upscale prices. The drink I had was good though!

My niece picked this place for lunch. This place was just bleh! The inside was super spacious, however we sat outside which you get to see the beautiful trees, plants and greenery from other local places. It was very cute! The only thing you want to consider if you sit outside is that it's near a train track so when the train goes by it's blaring and very loud!Their food style is fusion! So if you don't care for fusion this place is not for you. Just like how it's not for me. I got the Tokyo chicken bowl, my chicken was overly salted and I just didn't care for that. The waygu beef dumplings was nothing special. My niece got the bah mi and she said it was just ok. I did try her onion rings and those were delicious! Crispy and the whole onion didn't come apart when I bit into one. Server checked on us once and that was about it. I'm assuming it was because we were outside?? I probably won't go back because it's not my style of food but kudos for a beautiful restaurant and presentation of food!

Been once before for lunch and had been wanting to try dinner only menu items. My girls and and I went after the downtown tree lighting ceremony. They have a nice selection of holiday drinks, so I opted got the peppermint martini. It came with a black sugar rim and was delicious! Not overly done in peppermint and a nice cool finish. We decided to get a full order of ahi nachos, Shanghai dumplings, pork bao buns and the rainbow sushi roll. The nachos are huge! This easily could have been a full meal for the 3 of us. It has ahi, avocado, several sauces, edamame, green onions, tobiko, cucumber and spicy crab. The Shanghai dumplings were good, but very small. You get 6 for $16, which is kind of pricey. My youngest found them too spicy. I think the sauce contained chili oil. The rainbow roll had a pretty nice presentation, but the bites were really thick. The rice wasn't what I normally have at a sushi restaurant, so ill probably be sticking to rolls elsewhere. My girls enjoyed it though and it came with a pile of seaweed salad in the middle. The pork bao buns came in a pair. Pork belly, carrots, pickled radish and BBQ sauce in a bao bun. The bun was like a little pillow. So soft and fluffy! Again though, the price $18 for 2 buns was a little expensive. We decided to end with the campfire smores dessert. It was a waffle, with melted chocolate and a perfectly toasted, gooey marshmallow on top. Served with fresh strawberries and blueberries with Graham cracked crumbs. We gobbled this up quickly. I would like to come back to try a few other items, but it's definitely not a place I could eat at often. Our server was fantastic, though! So friendly and helpful with any questions we had and always checking in.

Came here for the second weekend with friends from Modesto who love this place. Jessie our server today was amazing! Kept the drinks coming and jived well with our men. Highly recommend. The bar is off the chain. These bartenders know how to make a mean old fashion.
