It's a gorgeous facility! The gal who does the tours is so sweet! My mom was all set to move in and then denied because she is fully-wheelchair bound but can pull herself to a stand. I was told this was okay as long as she could transfer. The nurse evaluation was over video call, since mom lives 3 hours away now, and the evaluation didn't go well, due to mom being hard of hearing and she has speech aphasia. I asked if I could hire a nurse to do an in-person evaluation, but my mom was denied anyway. We were about a week away from moving her when the nurse called to say they denied her, it was devastating for my mom. This evaluation should have been done 2 months ago, when I first started looking. Not a week before the actual move. I paid movers, professional organizers, everything was rolling on our end. The moral to our story is, if your loved one isn't mostly-mobile, look elsewhere. Even though they have various levels of care, and pricing based on that, wheelchair-bound individuals should look at other places. We have a referral agency now and are only looking into "continuing care" facilities in the area. (Note: I feel like I can't offer a true star rating since we only began the process and mom didn't live here. But this rating is based more on the initial process/sales staff/honesty about who is and isn't accepted)

Still one of the best senior living communities in Fresno. I'm sharing feedback I've heard from some of the resident ladies.Food...is not as tasty as it was in previous months. Comments about spiciness though I'm not certain this is a concern, rather it's an observation. Senior palates tend to be on the bland side.Activities...are not as frequent and do not offer the variety that was previously offered. I'm inclined to think the staff is trying to change things up a bit.Turnover...servers of course will move on and change frequently makes sense. Management appears to change often as does kitchen/chef staff. Haven't heard complaints but the seniors tend to be "bothered" by the change.Grounds...I noticed the entryway flowers are dead...come on Fairwinds, this is an easy fix. The grounds landscaping is quite nice, so a little attention to the other details would be nice. Would be nice to see more low water plants like succulents and native California plants.Accommodations...are quite nice. I would however change the bathrooms. The gigantic tubs are useless as the water pressure is low and the water temp is kept at a safe temp for safety purposes. It would take me a week to fill the tub and a month to heat enough water to enjoy a nice bubble bath. The 2nd bathroom has a giant tub only...useless. remove the tub, replace with a shower. And while you're at it, add another vanity. All in all, this place is a-okay. It's the details that need attention.

We have taken our tour and will be moving into the Fairwinds Woodward Park. We ordered off the menu the wedge salad, grilled Salmon and a real test the sirloin. Surprisingly the sirloin was cooked to perfection medium rare and not tough. The grilled salmon was not dry but perfectly delicious. The wedge salad was crisp lettuce with chunks of blue cheese and balsamic glaze. Delicious. Sold us since we will be eating three meals a day. Looking forward to move in day.

I visited recently and was appalled at some of the things I saw. A form is filled out for residents to be approved to move in. It states that they need to know everything about resident. I have no idea y they ask anything because they don't seem to actually look out for the welfare of the resident once moved in. That's all I want to say.

After reading the negative review. I cannot imagine why anybody would have written that. My grandmother has lived at Fairwinds over the last 7 years. My grandmother is extremely happy that she chose Fairwinds. Health and wellness, kitchen staff, marketing and general manager have always gone above and beyond to make the remaining years for my grandmother perfect. My grandmother was in independent living and needed more care and before I even knew that she was declining the nurse called me to inform me that it was time for assisted living. I want to think of the Health and Wellness staff as family because they truly are. I have recommended Fairwinds Woodward Park many times and will continue to do so! Thank you Isaac, John and Health and Wellness team. YOU ROCK!!!

Love love love the customer service and staff as much as I love the location and amenities available! Thank you Fairwinds for the support you all provided to my Mother-in-law during her time at your facility. James and I really appreciated your effort to make her feel at home! We will miss going to the dining room also!

The management of Fairwinds Woodward Park in Fresno, CA were the most unkind and unprofessional I've ever dealt with, in any arena. The previous Fairwinds general manager (GM) who was responsible for the safety, and well-being of senior citizens, including my 95 year old father, was horrible. She was non-responsive, uncaring, and rude beyond belief. When she was finally forced to respond to me, her communication was harsh and condescending. She was devoid of humility, compassion, respect and professionalism. She had zero customer service skills, and based on what I saw, heard, and personally experienced, she led the Fairwinds residents and staff by fear and intimidation. My 95 year old father lived at Fairwinds for 4 years, and I was the person he has entrusted to handle his affairs. Soon after moving my dad in to this facility that calls itself a "5 star Assisted Living" community, I began identifying problems, and having questions. Almost immediately, a very old gold ring that belonged to my dad's father, disappeared from my dad's nightstand. Very upsetting, but I had no proof of what happened. I contacted the assistant manager because I wanted to offer a reward for its "no questions asked" return. That person never followed up with me, the reward details were never communicated to the staff, and the ring was never returned. Soon after that, I started noticing issues with the food, food servers, housecleaning and laundry services, so I started by calling the front desk staff to discuss these. They were mostly disinterested and unprofessional and would transfer my calls to different voice mail boxes. I left several messages, that were never responded to. Later I was told by a Fairwinds manager, that the staff "doesn't access their voice mail". At that point, I started reaching out to Fairwinds GM. I tried communicating with her by email, most of which were never responded to. When I pressed her for a response, I would often receive a rude, dismissive response, full of condescension and irritation. She basically treated me as though I had no right to bother her. I was almost never given a direct answer to any of my questions, by the GM or anyone. I began requesting a face to face meeting with the GM, which she refused. What I did get from the GM was a scathing email, demanding that I stop bothering her with my "barrage" of emails. After months of this, I decided to contact Fairwinds corporate office, Leisure Care based in Seattle WA. A Leisure Care corporate executive actually called me back. He listened and spoke to me with what seemed like empathy and respect. He even admitted that I should not be treated disrespectfully and denied a meeting request with the GM. I finally got my meeting, with the GM and assistant manager. It was incredible. They told me to "move my dad out!". And they said that right in front of my dad who attended the meeting! Unfortunately, many Fairwinds residents and staff are unhappy with the negative atmosphere and lack of services at Fairwinds, but they are fearful of retaliation if they voice their dissatisfaction. I was constantly concerned for my father's safety and well being, particularly with the medication mistakes. Mistakes made by new, untrained and unqualified staff, as well as totally antiquated and disorganized policies and procedures for handling medication. I did everything I could to rectify things and keep my dad safe, happy, and protected. He has since passed away. I filed a complaint with the state, for which violations were found in the Fairwinds handling of my dad's medication. Bottom line. This place is probably a decent place to live for a healthy person in their 60's or early 70's, needing no "assisted living" services. Once you need assistance, the only safe option to is pay thousands of dollars more per month, to hire a legitimate outside care giver to come in and provide those services. Your aging loved ones deserve better.

My parent lives here. On the overall, it's a really nice well maintained facility. The employees are kind. However, one huge area of complaint for the residents is always the food!! The residents pay for it, but Fairwinds does NOT provide high quality, fresh food that is well prepared. Here is an example of a side salad which is only lettuce with an onion sliver, and a Cobb Salad entree. The Cobb Salad dinner entree has NO dressing, no egg, no bacon, and no blue cheese (only a mozzarella like cheese product). Since the residents are on lockdown, food is one of the very few things they have to look forward to and Fairwind's cheapens out and leave the residents disappointed that they cannot get a good meal with all of the hard earned money they pay. It is a shame they do not value their residents more.

I live at Fairwinds-Woodward Park, because my age makes moving difficult, and costly.. Larger apartments are great, but expensive. The whole facility is very nice, after a massive remodel, at the expense of a huge inconvenience to the residents. Food and service in the Red Star restaurant needs much improvement. That is why I give the place a generous 2 stars. A wait of 35 minutes for a seat, is not rare, unless you eat at 4:00 or 6:00:PM. Lunch is a little better. An over abundance of starch in the specials do not offer a balanced diet. Food is rarely hot. If you like canned green beans, corn, carrots, or overcooked spinach, just plain, you may like the food, if you do not get tired of monotony. Before you move any place. eat several meals, especially dinners. Eat with, or speak to residents, at random. Read rental agreements carefully.

Horrible Assistant Living. If you care anything about your loved one you would not move them here. They did not deliver meals. Housekeeping was not done on a weekly basis. They said the would assist and then said they were not trained to do so. Very disappointed
