El Toro Loco Supermarket

Wow! It's been a long time since I'd shopped at the grocery store on the southwest corner of Shields and West. I used to work in the neighborhood and would stop in after work. It was a different name back then. This store looks nice and fresh and clean. The produce department looked great. The meat counter on the back wall is the whole length of the store. There was a check cashing counter, a Western Union counter, even a jewelry counter. The draw for me today was to check out another counter in the store...Brans Sweet Treats. They had such delectable desserts to choose from there. I will definitely go back to this store for all they have to offer.

Parking lot is a nasty open dumpster and homeless spot... The 'recycle center' is taking everything down and folks are getting angry about the lack of oversight, clean up, containment. You want to run a gauntlet of panhandlers and piles of crap? Will never shop here!Get your area cleaned up and start doing something about it, consistently and caring for your curb appeal!-G

Great clean fresh products and great customer service very down to earth supermarket it makes u feel like part of the family.

I saw their add online regarding Ranchera meat on sale. Thats what attracted me to check this market out. I do have to agree with the reviews about cleanliness. The outside is pretty rough with bums and trash everywhere. However I don't let that determine the quality of their meat which is what I really came for. I have to disagree with all the negative reviews about their meat. I got some Ranchera meat and some chicken leg meat(marinated). The Ranchera meat didn't taste funny or seem expired. I marinated it myself and came out just fine. The marinated chicken leg meat was delicious. It wasn't too salty or overboard. I would come back again to get their meat when it is on sale. Not sure whats up with all the negative reviews about the meat. You know what they say. You only hear about the bad experiences on reviews and rarely the good ones. Well mine was great!

My to go store. Very clean and always fresh meat and meat. Thank you toro loco for providing us with the best and lowest prices.

do not get your meat from here. when i got marinated meat from here. !!! when i got home to cook some pieces, i tasted a piece of the cooked marinated beef and i noticed it was super dam salty like if they put 5 whole cans of salt in. i even tried to take some of with paper and it was still saltyyyy , i went back to the store and tried to return or atleast change it for meat that is not marinated and they denied it because i have already opened it but how was i suppose to know if it was so salty. they didnt care at all!!!

Gave me bad meat twice. The first was a bad chuck roast and then it was bad ranchera meat

Went today for a sale item i seen in an ad at my sisters. My first time in the store and cashier was semi rude telling me they had a limit on the sale item. I respect rules but let her know I inspected the sign before throwing a few extra in my cart and sign had no limit. Cashier said, "well it comes from our boss. People like to take advantage." I replied, "ok, you guys should just write limit on sign." but she cut me off by saying, "well today's the last day." I respect a stores rules, however the tone and attitude from a person can really be a turn off. I was trying to be as nice as possible and remained calm despite her tone that was making it hard.

They sell expired food ,the stuff they put on sale its because its expired !! I bought expired items and let the people know they didn't care !!! Zero stars

It's my favorite store and I love going there every weekend and they have a lot of great deals!
