Tlayudas de Tres Carnes. It is the size of a large pizza. Chicken, beef, & chorizo. So delicious!

I don't often write negative reviews but probably won't be returning to this restaurant. I was exited to find mole restaurant in Merced so I ordered the chicken mole for $18.oo The beans and rice were ok but the chicken mole was probably the worst I've ever had. The mole was very bitter and the chicken was a completely dry, flavorless piece of chicken breast chopped in half. I make my own mole at home and boil the chicken so it's very tender but not sure what they did to this chicken but unfortunately it wasn't edible :[Hopefully they can figure out the chicken situation for future customers and the mole definitely needs some abuelita chocolate.

Great food and service. Definitely adding this place to my rotation. I only wish it were spicier, but I am unsure if that is common for the region.

ABC,123... and away we goA is for Ambiance... umm nope. It feels like an empty box. You can see the photos for yourself. I think I would have been more comfortable sitting in my car. It's so quite, you can hear a mouse fart! Bring a boom box or something! B is for Bill... umm nope again. The cost is ridiculous for the food served! I understand they have to pay rent and things have gone up, but lort have mercy! The molcajete was almost $30 and it was the size of a kid's cereal bowl! What really kicks, you ask.... let me tell you. The menu says one thing, but the bill reflects something else! I've been running into this issue in several Hispanic food restaurants in the Merced/Atwater area now. Be careful!C is for Coming Back? Umm nope once again. This is my second time here. I always give a place a second try just in case the first was a fluke or people were having a hard day (we all bring it to work ya'll, no matter if you admit it or not). The first time, the service was rude. This time, she only wanted to talk to my husband (he is pretty fine ), but when he tells you that she'll order for herself and you can't figure that out . We saw her once to give us a menu, and then 2 min later to take the order (felt like I was in beat the clock). What I chose wasn't 'available', so my hubs suggested something, and baby is magic. You can have anything you heart desires.. magic... I digress. Then once to deliver the "food". As soon as he asked for a refill on his coffee, the magic ended and I quote:"You want a refill?" "Are they not free refills?""Let me check. "..... 15 min later ....."Oh yes they're free, do you want it still?".. "yes please""Oh... ok"1. Not recommended2. Service was oddly funny3. Not returning Don't let the world steal you joy!

Great authentic Oaxaca cuisine! Ambiance is very minimalist inside but the tray of the food makes up for it! I recommend the tlayuda and tamal de mole. Service was fast and friendly. Overall great experience.

Oaxaca is one of my favorite places in Mexico in part because of the food. It is hard to find outside of Mexico so when I spotted this place on yelp I knew I had to try it.The food is delicious and authentic. The molotes were just like I had them in Oaxaca. The tlayuda too. These are huge so you might want to share. All the portions were generous. Even the rice and beans which I usually ignore were delicious. For those who aren't aware, mole negro, oaxacan mole, has a bitterness to it. I noted some reviews complaining about it. That's authentic so if you think that is not up your alley order something else.Highly recommend this place. If you want to try food from a region that is famous in Mexico for its cuisine come here.

Authentic flavorsI am so happy to have an authentic Oaxaca Restaurant in Merced!!!The service was quick to take the order but a little slow to receive the meal , and only because part of the meal was definitely made fresh which was fabulous. The restaurant and bathrooms were extremely clean. The rice and beans were lacking a little flavor The Mole was amazing!!!Tamale was amazing!!!Cafe de olla better one in Merced so far

This small local family run place felt and tasted like a loncheria in Mexico. Tamales are what I remember but and everything else was very good too.

Wow! Authentic Oaxacan Mexican food with huge portions! Very flavorful. We tried the Tlayudas de Tres Carnes which is the size of a large pizza! Sooooo good with chorizo, tender chicken and beef on top of cheese and beans. Huaraches con Pollo, delicious! Add their homemade chile verde salsa on top. Also tried the Chile rellano plate. Probably the biggest Chile rellano we've ever had and was stuffed with melted cheese. The side salad had sweet grilled corn, black beans, toasted corn tortilla strips and a light vinaigrette and was light and delicious. Everything was so good! We will be back for sure!
