El Rey de Barbacoa

Located on the corner of McKinley and Clinton at the Shell gas station. My husband and I stopped by to try. My husband was the one who ordered. No prices posted on their menu. We ordered 3 tacos (pastor and asada) and one asada sopes all totaling to a pricey $18. Waited about 15-20mins. First off the food was actually pretty good. The sopes was huge and loaded almost covered the whole plate with so much flavor. The tacos were also very good the meat was seasoned well. Came with 3 salsas all pretty spicy the red sauce and guac was good the green salsa tasted like it was old/spoiled. Our only complaint was the service. The man with glasses taking the orders doesn't have the best customer service skill which makes the visit unappetizing. After my husband ordered and paid the guy was giving him a hard time with his change. My husband asked for his change and the guy said he will give it later. Which make NO SENSE when the transaction already happened how is it so difficult to give the change right after. There were other diners there and he didn't give them a hard time. My husband asked if the guy did that to them and they all said no he gave them their change right way. While waiting for our food my husband asked again and the guy said that he told him he'll give it later. The man gave no explanation as to why he couldn't give $2 worth of change right away. We were definitely a bit annoyed. He eventually gave it up there was no reason for that kind of attitude a simple explanation would be nice too since he had not problem giving other their change at the appropriate time. Overall the food was without a doubt good but because of our interaction with this guys we probably won't be coming back.

Food - was tasteless so I wouldn't dub thee as thy Rey. Rey pending is more like it due to the potential. They've got all the ingredients and it smells nice but never hit the palette which for me says add more please. Service was what you'd expect from a truck. Greet, take order, serve, and move on. There was seating so kudos for preparing for a crowd. They are in a good spot so it is expected to have a few stopping and sitting awhile as long as weather permits it. No covering.

They have the best service and they never fail. I finally found tacos that my whole family likes .

This truck is awesome! The tacos were great, the service was really friendly, I can't wait to try more items on the menu!

The meat (asada) was pretty dry. The tortillas are good though hecho a Mano (by hand). Pricey for a taco too when other taco trucks around area are cheaper.

Decepcionado completamente me dejé llevar por el nombre y sinceramente es una vergüenza. La carne tiene buena textura pero huele demasiado, pedí 2 tacos a mano y el menú decía $3.50 con tortillas a mano por taco pero me cobraron $13.67 pero bueno tenía hambre y no pregunté por que me ganó el hambre. Sinceramente no vale la pena el servicio es de lo peor parece que están enojados cuando te atienden

This place is pretty solid for a quick bite close to the hotels. Chicken burrito $11 plus al pastor taco $3. The burrito was pretty huge and would have been more than filling on its own. Ask for a side of grilled onions and peppers.

I've been here several times. The first I watched the young lady take money then start helping to cook without washing her hands. We left. We were in line. Second time I asked for burrito w no beans. I Drove home and there was beans. Tried it a 3rd time. It's on my way home. Again burrito w no beans add sour cream. No beans but they put cheese not sour cream. It's pricey too.

Prices seemed fair. Lacked prices on the menus display on the taco stand. We paid $3 for a asada taco & $6 for a good size cheese quesadilla. Kids got filled off quesadillas. Tacos were a ok size, but where a little on the greasy side from the Manteca they probably use. Salsa & napkins where included in the bag.

Such a great variety of tacos, their Al Pastor and Pollo is so good. Also their drinks are fire!
