El Nuevo Mexicali II

Blend of nostalgia and simple cooked food... First went here almost 18 years ago. Went back recently with friends and family after a funeral. And our waitress was great for 25 of us. Food was solid. Margaritas were strong. Carne asada is our favorite and we enjoy the margaritas.

The food was very delicious especially my pozole verde so yummy and huge. I took about 80% of it home and had it for a couple more servings. My husband really liked the menudo and it's huge too. He had the pata on the side. The chorizo plate was good too but they need to add more chorizo - the rice and beans took about most of the space in the plate. The service was great every time. The ambiance is just right, I liked the warm sun coming through the large windows they have there. They had Mexican songs playing and two TV's showing a football game. Their credit card went down at the time we were going to pay but luckily we had enough cash for the bill. Great food overall.

Hello,we walked into the establishment and we'll clean they sat us down quickly and the server came and was ready to get our drinks and our order we were waiting for our other clients food came out amazing.it tasted okay .it almost Christmas so they took the time to decorate it inside it was nice and clean.but my stomach was making some sound after I left ahhh

They don't have salsa for tacos , the enchiladas have a weird gravy on them , it definitely does not taste like food from Mexicali , more of white washed Mexican food .

Pretty good food. We've been going there for many years. I think it's faltered some in the last 7 years.But we always get a decent meal

Food always hits the spot, and prices are great! I had the chile relleno burrito that is on their secret menu and it didn't disappoint! Green pozole is also my other go to favorite. They also have great Micheladas!!

Hello everyone! My boyfriend and I came in to this establishment and right away we were seated and given drinks as well as chips and salsa. Our waitress was very kind and patient with all of my questions. You could tell that she was not fluent in English but she did her best and once we learned this my boyfriend began speaking to her in Spanish and she became so much more comfortable with us knowing it would be easier to communicate. We ordered chicken quesadillas, cheese enchilada with double rice, and a big asada burrito. When we asked for a more spicier salsa they happily brought us more and my boyfriend, a spice fanatic, loved it! We will definitely be coming back... coming around the early lunch hour is the best time to go we had the restaurant to ourselves for a good 20 minutes and it was very private! :)

They charge $12 for a tostadas which is just meat a tortilla and a whole ass lettuce head cut up on it they don't deserve to have a Mexican name for their restaurant it's like some caucasian guy tried his hardest to make Mexican food the horchata is amazing though!

If I could give ZERO STARS I most definitely would. There is nothing authentic about this place. The beans are canned, the chilaquiles are made with the Tostitos red dipping sauce from Walmart. and I asked for potato's instead of hashbrowns and I just got cut up French fries. I came with a group of 5 and we all left our food.

Food was great Ambiance as well SERVICE not so much the gentleman that helped us was not rude but he only visited our table twice including to drop our drinks off take our order and bring our food and that was it the whole time and we waited an absurd amount of time for him and then having to get up and ask for boxes the check and even to be cashed out, Now i'm writing this mainly because the dressing on my salad was out of date when I addressed it to the young lady in the front with the pink hair clip she said OK and was quite rude about it she was also rude when I asked her if she could cash us out she's the one to thank for this review worst experience I've ever had there
