El Girasol

They were open late in order to order dinner after a long hike at the Sequoias. After we ordered our food, the business there picked up quickly. There was a line of 3-4 cars. They didn't have anymore adobada (seasoned pork), so we had to order beef and chicken quesadillas. There was A LOT of food for the price. There were 3 large pieces of quesadillas with pickled vegetables and all sorts of sauces and salsas. The quesadillas were loaded with cheese. The chicken quesadilla was very well marinated and very juicy so it didn't need any additional sauces or salsas. The beef enchilada by itself was kind of bland and needed sauces to make it taste better. The food definitely hit the spot after hiking 12 miles though.

My husband and I recently moved to Exeter. We came from an area with an abundance of authentic Mexican food and food trucks on every corner in town. Prior to finding this gem, I was so disappointed when we had a few local Mexican restaurants well so they advertised themselves as Mexican food. I can say they weren't authentic at all. Sorry, local Mexican restaurants but y'all are considered more Mexican American food. Nothing wrong with that but not my favorite. I was convinced there just wasn't good Mexican food in town. But one evening, my husband and I were on an evening walk and saw this food truck. We decided to give it a try and WOW....NOW THIS IS AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD! We had the Arroz con Camaron. It's just that, Mexican rice mixed in with sautéed onions and mushrooms. Served with a side salad and tortillas. The plate is huge! Plenty for 2 people. By far my favorite plate! We also had the Mulitas. These are basically corn tortilla quesadillas with your choice of meat. They sound so simple but something you can't go wrong with. The meat is flavorful and what I like to do is make 2 tacos out of one Mulita and add all the fillings. This is our go to weekend meal especially later in the evening. Everything closes so early around here!! I can go on and on but all you need to know is that this food truck is delicious! Simple menu, authentic, fresh, flavorful!

This food truck is wonderful. The food is fresh and delicious. The owners are very sweet. Great place!
