I love Edo-ya! I think it's a very authentic Japanese restaurant. They even have a tatami dining room experience which I love! Teppanyaki is good and Especially love the sushi bar. My favorite here is their signature seafood salad... Seaweed, lettuce, asparagus, avocado, shrimp & tuna topped with crab legs. So yummy good! I recommend you try this if you never have.

I try to be fair. I really do. But this place really was a huge let down. In a town full of Teppan you NEED to be on point. Edo unfortunately was really off. I can let the dingy stickiness of the place go, I really can. But when the two steaks they bring out are VISUALLY old and turned, and the chef still sets them on the grill, it's a sad day. As they cooked I could SMELL they were bad. I ordered a New York and scallops I got an old rancid New York way overcooked and 1.5 scallops cut into 5 pieces. The chef either had zero clue to his job, or just did not care enough to notice they far past due date steaks and his horrible portion mistake. When the waitstaff picked up our plate with nothing eaten, and set down a $150 bill, you would think they would have asked if there was an issueNope.I invite the owner to contact me if he wants to make it right. And I will adjust or delete my review.

Walked into Edo Ya and we had a reservation. We were I guess you could say "greeted" with an attitude by the hostess at the front. We sat at our table and received our soup that was watered down. The salad was okay the dressing was watery. Our silverware was a plastic flimsy fork that we were told to keep for the night as that was our silverware. Overall disappointed with the service and quality here.

Not the best night. I didn't realize how run down this place is. Took my son for his 14th birthday. First we noticed the holes in the wall. Then a roach crawled on the table right in front of the couple next to us. It was pretty embarrassing. I was ready to get up and leave but my bf said we should just stay. Food was still good I guess considering all things aside. I really suggest a major upgrade to this place. I'll take my teppanyaki cravings elsewhere from now on.

I don't really need to say much. Pictures do all the talking. It's sad how this restaurant gets worse every year. Killed a baby roach on the table we were eating at. When I looked down, it was visibly obvious this place is gross. I come came for a birthday but my go to and yours should be Hino Oishi or jap kitchen.

Edo-ya fell short for us. Come on guys, you gotta pick it up! We specifically went for teppanyaki. The soup appetizer was really bland absolutely no flavor(dang it). The dinner salad had almost enough dressing but not quite. You could taste the cost cutting changes right away. The rice and veggies were delicious. The shrimp was average. The chef was BORING!! No fun tricks or laughs. We got the dry as TOAST chef...womp womp. Edo Ya... we miss you! Where did you go? We want the old Edo Ya back!! It is absolutely the cutest Japanese restaurant in Fresno.

The Box dinner is an amazing amount of food! I shared with my friend but it could have fed 3 of us! I loved the array of flavors and items in the box. The tempura was delicious!

The Service was extremely slow. I'm not sure if it was due to being understaffed or not, our host did not communicate to our table. She did not check in on us once. Not only that when we found roaches on the plates, our host didn't accommodate us or ask us if we wanted to discuss this further. High manager didn't come by either. We were pretty disappointed. We will not be returning.
