Eddie's Bakery Cafe

They did such an amazing job with decorating my cake. I loved it! I got the red velvet and it was super yummy. It was moist and the cream cheese frosting inside was really good. The only thing is the outside frosting was buttercream and there wasn't an option to have cream cheese frosting on the outside. Not a big deal, the butter cream frosting was really good too, just a preference I will definitely be going back.

The sourdough is great. The service is always fast. I always see a lot of people enjoying themselves. If you order a bread for the next day; make sure it's sliced as they don't automatically slice it.

Came here in hopes of Fiery Mocha. Sad that seasons done so went with Havana Cappuccino. It was OK, but tasted a little off. I want to come back when I am looking for sweets.

Eddie's has a wide variety of baked goods from cookies, macarons, cupcakes, pastries to cakes. The Mexican wedding cookies, butter cookies, cheese croissant and pink champagne cakes are some favorites. On my last visit I ordered some macarons and the pistachio one was delicious. However, the cake slices can sometimes taste dry or stale. The staff member assisting me on my recent visit was very friendly and helpful. They also have a large seating area for anyone wanting to dine in.

My MIL, got these little treats as a surprise for us and it made my morning. The bear claw was super soft and had great texture. They use real shaved almonds on top, not the prepackaged chalky ones. The scones kind of blew my mind. Dense, but with a light and fluffy mouthfeel... how? The flavor was on point as well with the fruit not being overpowered by the glaze. Blueberry was my favorite of the bunch. I'd never heard of this place before and now I need to experience their actual shop IRL. I love free bakery smells!

4/5 only because prices are a bit highOn this day I was in for a birthday cake for my husband. I wanted to get him a carrot cake but I don't particularly care for the little frosting carrots that are on the top of the cake. They just look weird. Instead, I opted for a banana cake with a simple cream frosting. I would have liked less nuts on the side as my grandchildren were also going to be eating the cake and they don't like nuts. The cake was delicious. I asked that Happy Birthday be written on the cake. This is the first time the sentiment was written in red gel on a piece of plastic and placed on top of the cake. In the past I was asked to select a color and the sentiment was written on a banner and placed atop the cake. Hmmmm....

Stopped in for a quick dessert and it's just as I remember it. It's alright, still! Lol. I used to visit more often years ago when I worked nearby. It was always a nice treat, because everything is so pretty, lol. Display of desserts are still as beautiful as I remember. They also offer lunch and Peet's coffee! I've always appreciated the ticket system they offer to assist customers.I got a slice of red velvet cake to share, it was for about $6-7. We both agreed it was okay. Lol. Inflation is real everywhere and my bank acct cries a little every time my $$$ isn't worth the purchase. Lol. We've got a favorite place for red velvet so their slice compared to our favorite wasn't up to par. The cream cheese icing is on the sweeter side with what tastes like more like buttercream. I prefer a stronger tasting cream cheese frosting. The cake is moderately moist. The next day, I worked on finishing the slice and the frosting and cake were on the drier side. Eddie's is still very special to me, just not a top favorite bakery. I believe they'll be here for years though because they are a local favorite!

I have NO idea why Eddie's Bakery doesnt have a higher rating on Yelp- this Fresno staple has always been our family's go to spot for cakes (I personally love their chocolate cake). I visited this morning for a business meeting and I loved their bee sting breakfast sandwich (with honey, cheese and bagel on a yummy bagel). The matcha latte was good, but nothing amazing (I'm honestly just happy they had matcha). I will absolutely come back when I need to buy a cake, but not necessarily my first choice for a cafe (good food but not overwhelmingly amazing for me to give it a 5 star).

I stopped there because I have trusted them with special occasion cakes. They are always delicious and everyone loves them. Today when I went to pay for my cake the writing was super small and only written on the upper portion of the cake. Leaving the lower part completely blank. I asked if they had something to fill the space. I was thinking maybe a ribbon or some plastic decoration. I would have gladly paid extra for it. When she ask her supervisor she was told no. I just could NOT get over the asymmetry. She offered to take it off and redo it, but I'm not sure it would look good. Plus I don't trust sending items back that we plan to eat. So so incredibly disappointed with service from here.
