Don Pepe Taqueria

Don Pepe Taqueria is a fantastic spot for fast, affordable Mexican food. I recently ordered an asada torta and a soft taco for pickup via the Uber app, which is incredibly convenient these days. I was notified when my order was almost ready, and when I arrived, there was no wait--the order was ready for pickup.The portions were generous; I even had half of my torta left over for a snack later. The asada was flavorful, and the torta was delicious. The ease of ordering through the Uber app made the whole process smooth, especially during the busy holiday season.If you're looking for a cheap, easy, and solid spot for Mexican food in Fresno, Don Pepe Taqueria is definitely worth a visit!

There are several items that are really delicious. We love the tacos. They make them differently. First, each taco has a significant amount of meat or seafood. The beans are not refried or mashed. Every taco has delicious, excellent, whole beans in their tacos. They also come with different salsas that range from burning hot to fresh vegetables to put on your tacos. The price is great ($3.99) each taco. Last week we tried their shrimp burrito ($12.99). Absolutely delicious beans and a generous amount of shrimp. You can order it spicy if you like eating with pain or a more mild salsa. lol! The salsas and condiments the come with the tacos included, cilantro, diced onions, lime and typically four or five different salsas. They range from mild to extremely hot salsa. Great food at great price. Yummy!

Forced tip at point of sale 15%+. I tipped cash before paying with my credit card and still was faced with a tip with no way to select no tip or custom tip. 15% minimum. Also the chicken is undercooked and under seasoned.

The spicy shrimp burrito was on point with a Pacifico brew. Perfect breakfast before I had to head back to Los Angeles. I definitely will stop by again once I'm in town.

Tacos are big and filling. I ordered the spicy shrimp and Al pastor. There were plenty of shrimp in the taco and they were juicy. The seasoning and flavor was spot on. Added a little bit of the salsa and it was delicious. The Al pastor didn't win me over though. The addition of beans was a bit too filling for me. The meat didn't have the char and Al pastor flavor I was expecting. I'll come back for the shrimp tacos any day though.

Once again, Don Pepe delights! I started going to the origin Don Pepe 33+ years ago over on Blackstone and Gettysburg. I have NEVER had a bad meal at any of the three I have been to. They are fast, friendly, and prepare great food that is reasonably priced. There is nothing special about the restaurant itself, but it is cozy and clean, which is always a good thing. I sat outside with a friend and enjoyed an al pastor super burrito and a horchata. I've been living and working in the Chicago area for the last couple of months and have not found good Mexican food since I've been here. I had to go back to California to get some. Thankfully it was Don Pepe on the menu.

I go in here every now and then. I had the Breakfast burrito for the first time. They were actually really good. I need to try the other food. Service is a hit and miss. Sometimes they are not as friendly. Place is pretty clean. Service pretty fast too. A bit pricey though.
