My only regret with this place is that I didn't start my son sooner. It was a complete transformation for him, after spending years in different daycare environments. The kids their are very welcoming, and within weeks he had legit friends. The preschool itself is great and my son has learned a ton of new stuff. The teachers there are engaged with the kids and are actually interested in preparing them for real school. They have managed to calm my wild son down quite a bit too. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

First off, I am sad to read some of the other reviews, I really hope those don't detour any parent from giving this school a chance! I have had two children attend Dermer's and I have nothing but great things to say about the school, teachers and owner. Sandy, the owner, takes much pride in her operation and her love for the children is undeniable. The teachers also show such compassion and love to the kids, it has always made me feel safe and trusting to leave my boys there. Both of my boys started in the newborn room at 2 months old. They are organized, well staffed, clean, and the most important part to me, they love the children. They most definitely do the best they can to keep them on the same schedule you have established or if your a parent like me, they help you develop a schedule. They track everything- literally everything that you have a report to review when you pick up. It is awesome. (I tried a home daycare prior, doesn't come close to comparing to this) The boys moved into room 1 - again, a very well managed room from their daily schedules, meals - everything is documented. Kids will be kids, as far as accidents, my son is very clumsy and any incident that occurred, they provide an accident report. They will call you. They will do anything to comfort your baby.Would I recommend them to my friends and family? 110% yes. IF I have another child, they absolutely will be attending. Thank you Sandy and team for a wonderful program!

Horrible! Not enough staff and the communication with parents is nonexistent. This place has bad reviews for a reason. Had we listened to others we would have never taken our child to this place.

I have no stars for this place! The impression of some of the staff is bad vibes. My son attends the infant program and every week he comes home with a severe rash that's so painful for him. I've provided diapers, wipes and per my instruction diaper rash cream and yet they let my child sit in his own feces. I have walked in and caught Gene just sitting there not interacting with children except her own grandkids. Ms Valerie is unapproachable and just rubs me the wrong way. I honestly don't believe they feed them the menu they write out. I don't even think they keep these kids hydrated! My son has had 3 ouch reports all head injuries hmmm I think not... Adam is weird and impatient! And there is some old man that is always on the computer playing solitare when I arrive at 6 to pick up my son. This place needs investigation and better staffing. There are only a couple teachers I admire and respect! Never attending this place again and way too expensive at that.

My kids were here for one month before I pulled them out. Completely understaffed. Lack of supervision. Found my daughter wandering the halls by herself at pick up, the rest of her class was outside...

Where do I start... I made it known to them that NO ONE has ever watched my kids and I trusted that if ANYTHING were to happen they would call me. Dermer's seemed great when we went to check it out, but it's not all what we thought. Once I enrolled my kids I started to notice things weren't quite right. They are out of ratio which made it very difficult to keep an eye on all of the kids. They also have very POOR management. My children were there for only 3 months and I pulled them out! Both of my kids had significant injuries within those 3 months. Twice to the head & 5 bites that left chunks out of my sons body!! The 2nd day my youngest was at Dermer's he "made contact with a rod iron fence" that left a HUGE goose egg on his forehead for over a week! I was not notified and walked in at 5:30 to see my poor son's face. My older son "made contact with a wall" and came home with his ear all bruised and cut up on both sides! They ONLY notified me 4x out of the 7 incidences. The 3rd time I was called and notified my kids were hurt; the teacher/ director both told me they saw what was happening and then would LOOK AWAY (INSTEAD OF REDIRECTING THEM) and that was when the significant injury between them and another child would occur. The director also told me that the kid who bit my son had bit 4 other kids that SAME DAY! My kids were also sick multiple times within the 3 months of being there. I noticed, a couple of times picking my boys up, there were no chaperones when the kids were in the the restroom. One time, I saw about 12 kids in the restroom; when there are only 4 stalls and the boys and girls were watching each other use the restroom. Also, if you have younger children there tends to be more than one teacher in the classroom, but may not be the teacher assigned to your child. I did not like that the teachers were assigned to the kids, but weren't working the entire day. Needless to say we will NEVER be going back and I will not be referring anyone to them. On a positive note: We loved teacher Amanda!

There aren't enough words to express the gratitude my husband and I feel for a place like Dermer's. My son started at a different preschool in 2013 at 2 1/2 years old. We were contacted by the owner 6 weeks after he started and were told he wasn't emotionally mature enough yet to be enrolled. Being this was our first child and first experience with a preschool we trusted the owner's recommendation and put him back at home with my mother-in-law the couple of days I work. We started him again at the same preschool in August 2014. Long story short.... We were contacted again about six weeks in and were told by the owner that the preschool wasn't the "right fit." We were made to feel as if something was wrong with our son. I am not one to stick my head in the sand so I will concede to the fact that my son did appear to have a harder time adapting than the other children. With that said, he was NEVER aggressive or threatening in any way. He was "dismissed" for crying a majority of the day and not being able to stay in a classroom because his crying disrupted the rest of the class. He didn't have a place, a cubby or a classroom. They would just stick wherever for the day. My son never knew what his day was going to look like, which in turn heightened his anxiety. Enter the wonderful people of Dermer's. I met with Sandy the owner and Mary the office manager. I explained all of the above, and more. They were both incredibly supportive and kind. They were confident they could help my son adjust and believed in his success. I took my son twice to visit his classroom before starting and to meet his teachers, Amanda and Nazeli. Within the first week of attending Dermer's Creative Care Too he stopped crying at drop off, we were AMAZED!!! He still cries at drop off from time to time, but Amanda and Nazeli have developed a consistent routine in which the crying only lasts about five minutes then the rest of his day is great. I can feel the sincerity and genuine love his teachers feel for him, and as a mother, there is nothing more important to me than the safety and success of my children.

A fabulous pre-school and extremely highly recommended. Teachers love their jobs, which translates to them being awesome teachers and truly caring for the kids and doing a great job. We never had any issues. Very well run school.
