Degnan's Loft was the perfect spot to refuel after a day of exploring Yosemite. Their handmade sandwiches are excellent--fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. I had the turkey and avocado sandwich, and everything from the toasted bread to the perfectly layered ingredients was on point. The meats and veggies tasted fresh, and the balance of flavors made for a satisfying meal. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with plenty of seating and a relaxed vibe. Even during peak hours, the service was quick and friendly. It's a great place to grab a hearty meal without the long waits you might find at other spots in the park. They have Wi-Fi!If you're in Yosemite and looking for a quality sandwich made with care along with other snacks and coffee items, Degnan's Loft is definitely worth a stop. Make sure you use the refillable water stations before you go. I'll be back on my next visit!

If you came here for WiFi, I've got good news and bad. Good: There is WiFi. The password is/was BridgetDegnan. It works. Bad: It is slow - 1.5 mbps. Good: Your phone also works here. And works well. 195 mbps on ATT 5G. Bad: You'll be using your 'unlimited' data like crazy on your 3-hour Zoom call, withering away in the cafe while you stare outside the big windows at the beautiful nature you can't enjoy. Good: Seating is abundant, and the food prices are particularly reasonable given the location. There's also a fantastic market a 3 min walk away. Bad: You'll be reconsidering your life choices as you work while everyone else plays in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Conclusion - WiFi if you need it.

Whenever I write a one star review, I like to point out my overall statistics. Out of nearly 400 reviews, this will be only the seventh to receive one star.I save one star reviews for cases of horrific customer service or blatant food safety violations. The customer service here has been great. Unless you file pest control under customer service? (I blame Aramark.)Last week, I was enjoying my favorite sandwich from Degnan's: the hummus plus bacon. The sandwich was alright. I don't love their bread selection, but the ingredients are all right.I was eating and working on my laptop when a RESTAURANT MOUSE ran out from between my feet.I was sitting in my favorite seat, which is the booth in the corner opposite of the fireplace. Now, I know you may be thinking-- it's Yosemite, of course there are mice. Well, there are mice everywhere, but they're never supposed to be inside of restaurants. And we're not talking about a kangaroo mouse, a chipmunk, or a squirrel. It was a deer mouse, which is the only kind I've ever personally seen in a restaurant. It didn't come from outside. It came from the wall between the kitchen and dining room. From inside the wall behind the booth. I've worked in restaurants for about twenty years, and rodents are just not an acceptable issue. This isn't a common thing that secretly happens everywhere. Throughout all my years, I've actually only seen a small handful of mice inside of restaurants. It's just not okay. Period. Not even in Yosemite. Never. Gross.Couple this with the fact that we know that the rodents in Yosemite can carry plague or hantavirus. Hantavirus can be transmitted through dust, which would include a rodent walking across any of the surfaces, ingredients, or utensils used in food preparation. Theoretically, I think you could catch hantavirus from eating here.I left immediately, and have no intentions of returning any time soon.

I came here on a weekday afternoon and it wasn't too busy (didn't have to wait long in line and easily found a table) but there was a sizable group of people at the various lines (coffee, hot food, registers). I opted for one of their cold sandwiches because they were all 50% off (sell-by date was the day I was visiting) so it was a pretty affordable option. The sandwich was alright but it's very much similar to the prepared sandwich you would get at your local grocery store (can fill you up but not amazing). Though they do have a lot of food options so I definitely recommending coming here if you're in Yosemite.

Pretty standard cafeteria style food! They serve Peet's code and sandwiches, carry chips, etc. they also serve "Yosemite water."I got bagels here. The bagels were good, filled to the brim with cream cheese as posted in the photos. :-)Service was fast as we came early in the morning, and staff were nice! The ambiance was really nice as well, there's a fireplace and lots of seating.

Got their only vegan option, which was a sandwich with hummus, tomato, onion and cucumber. Added extra avocado on there. It was just okay. I guess that's the most we can expect in a national park. But given it's Yosemite (which is pretty touristy), we expected better!Wish they had GF bread.... Would be helpful for people who are on a gluten-free diet. Staff were helpful but the taste was meh. They also had one vegetarian sandwich option, which came with cheese and veggies.

I was pleasantly surprised by just how delicious and satisfying my chicken caprese sandwich turned out to be! Service was friendly even with a bit of a wait as they toast each customer's sandwich before moving to the next. The coleslaw, though teeny tiny, was also good and paying cafeteria style was quick. The line got super long behind me so timing seems like a factor. I was able to grab a table with a view of the fireplace and thoroughly enjoyed my chicken caprese toasted sammie!

Degnan's is a great spot to grab some food before or after your hike. We went for breakfast and it wasn't too busy. There were seats and tables inside next to the fire. Wish they had some music or better lighting to make it more lively though, it felt like a library. I'm not sure if it was just our timing but it was a lot less crowded here than the Village Cafe because of the location and it's a little farther away from the parking lot. It's basically cafeteria style here - order from the menu then pay at the checkout kiosk. The burrito could've been wrapped better but it was a good size and came out fresh and warm. Just needed some kind of salsa or hot sauce!

I went last year for sandwiches, and today, went for coffee and quick snack.1) Clean and modern look2) Bathroom very clean and modern3) there is a fireplace there, which is nice, when weather is cold4) Employees/workers there are super friendly.5) Ordered sandwiches, the sandwiches are very good.and good to take outside for picnic. 6) They also sell bowl of chills, not sure whether there are other soup option or now. 7) I don't know how crazy or crowded in summer. I went in May and last year went in april, not that crowded. And today is big rain, still have a lot of people.

***Inexpensive beer***We visited earlier this month. We had the roast beef (substituted provolone instead of cheddar) and salmon sandwiches. They were fine, but wished the salmon wasn't a cold sandwich. The best part was the inexpensive beer. Since they could've charged a lot more it was nice to have an interesting selection of canned beers below $3 for pints and below $2 for 12oz. Will grab a few more to try next time.
