I moved from St. George, Utah to Fresno in May. Our furniture had to go into their storage facility, because our home wasn't ready. While trying to schedule a late July move date I was told by Kim in the Fresno office that it's a two day job. One day to pack the truck and the next day to deliver. I was told on the delivery day, they were packing my furniture at 6 in the morning. Delivery was scheduled for August 4th at 8:30. At 9:00 the office called to say the guys were running an hour late. They also needed $4000 dollars before they would deliver it. This was to move me from downtown (10 miles) and store my furniture for 64 days. This was after paying them $7000 to move from Utah to storage. I was informed, if you don't pay it right now you don't get your stuff. At noon the first truck showed up. The minute I looked at the loser movers, I knew they were not professional. They looked totally confused as to what to do, and they were! They had no idea how to remove the refrigerator doors, so they chose to bring the refrigerator through the front double doors. They dropped my refrigerator into the wall in the entryway. Which left a hole in the wall and dented the front of a 3 year old refrigerator. When they brought in my safe they had damaged the handle and scratched the hell out of the dial. They broke the legs on a patio table and taped it so we wouldn't notice. They cracked my solid oak night stands and tore the handles off of the dresser. How do you crack solid oak? I was told to file a claim for damages which I did. I was contacted by one of their reps, Char, she is a real winner to work with. Talk about an attitude. You'd think she was paying for the damages. Everything that was damaged or replaced had to be paid for in advance and receipts submitted for reimbursement. I understand that, but even then I had to fight for every penny. Char didn't want to pay up, because my replacement patio table was $1100 dollars. She told me that I had only put in a replacement cost of $600. I explained to her that i don't buy patio furniture everyday and had no idea how much the table would cost. Perhaps your movers shouldn't have broken it. They paid, grudgingly. I had added to this claim after finding more damage on two other pieces of furniture, but was told by Char I was just dragging out the claim. At that point, I told her I didn't like her attitude and I had nine months to file claims! She said, oh it's fine. If it was fine, why did she have an attitude. I finally withdrew the rest of the claim. I just can't do it anymore. I'd like to mention the movers one more time. After breaking my refrigerator and putting a hole in the wall they, were having a little party in my bedroom, laughing, listening to music and singing at the top of their lungs and sitting on the furniture. They are not supposed to sit on the furniture! Had I known this I would have kicked their asses out of my house. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the Allied in Fresno. Greedy unprofessional losers.

RUN SCREAMING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! I used them for a move in 2012 from Kingsburg CA to Dana Point, CA. They came to see our belongings and gave us a bid. I later asked them for a cost to move more items from a storage unit which was acceptable. When they picked up the items at the storage unit, none of the movers said a thing about there being more goods than they expected. They moved the goods from our house later in the day and still nothing about any surprises. Everything was going great. When it was time to deliver my goods, SURPRISE suddenly there was much much more in the storage unit. And, of course, they wouldn't deliver my goods until I paid an amount $3,000 more than their estimate!!! I asked for a copy of their weight statement showing the impact of these 'unexpected' goods. None was provide and the nice woman who initially gave us the bid suddenly didn't answer her phone or return calls. Instead, we got a mean spirited witch and what seemed like recently released felons to deliver our goods. AS I SAID EARLIER, THESE GUYS RIPPED ME OFF. HEED MY ADVICE AND STAY AWAY!!!!

I did a cross country move from Fresno, CA to West Orange, NJ and am absolutely satisfied with Allied/Atlas/Colonial Van and Storage's services.Eileen, the sales manager at this location, was amazing. One of the things you look for in a company that handles anything as crucial as moving services is communication. Eileen did just that by keeping constant phone and email communication with me during the entire process--from the inquiry of her company's services to establishing where the drop-off location will be. I'm looking at my past emails from her and it amounts to twenty two emails in a span of a week. She knows exactly what she's doing. There was never a time that I asked her a question and she hesitated to answer or needed to make a call to verify information. Nope, she knew exactly what to say.She came to my home the third week of August and did an hour walk around to make an estimate of how much the overall move of my furniture might cost. She made a reasonable and sound estimate while informing me of what her company can and cannot do, as well as informing me of the several other protection packages her company offers.Stephen from United Van Lines was another person and company I inquired with, but after a 10 minute walk around, I was not convinced that my move would be "no less than $6,300" and likely costing me as much as $8,500. He seemed friendly, but it seemed like he was pulling numbers out of thin air.Allied/Atlas/Colonial Van and Storage also assigned James (from San Diego) as the truck driver responsible for transporting my furniture. He did an outstanding job; you could read my review of his and Allied's performance on the Atlas Transfer and Storage Co. (San Diego) Yelp page.I don't see myself ever moving back to Fresno, but I would certainly recommend making an inquiry with Eileen to anyone in need of moving services. I had a great experience working with this company and wouldn't mind doing business with them again. They're military friendly and do many PCS moves in Lemoore.

I contacted Allied who connected me to these guys, their local agent.. I set up an appointment and a super knowledgeable lady come out and gave a quote the next week. It took her about 15 minutes to walk through the house and take her notes. When she was done she said she'd email me the quote. That evening I received the quote and it was cheaper than the other company I'd had come out for an estimate. In fact, the other company was going to have ME pack up most of the house into plastic bins that I could 'rent' from them. Colonial's quote was for a FULL full-service move. I called them back that day to set up the move.On the first day (packing and loading the truck), three mover men showed up on time at 8am and started packing right away. They were all energetic, joking around and seemed to enjoy their jobs. I couldn't believe how fast they worked. By 3pm the truck was loaded. Definitely professionals, but there were a couple of things that got on my nerves: 1) When packing things located higher up in the kitchen and laundry room, they used my good dining room chairs to stand on instead of getting a ladder 2) One of them used the bathroom for a #2, which resulted in no one wanting to go in there (I seriously heard one of the guys cracking up laughing bc it smelled so bad), which resulted in nothing under the sink getting packed and loaded onto the truck. The second day (unloading the truck) was less impressive. The movers showed up on time as promised, but it was two different guys. And holy crap they walked sooo slow back and forth between the loads. Like really? We're not paying you hourly. Don't you want to get home? They also seemed careless and annoyed to be doing the job. But, anyway, everything got delivered (and only two glasses broke) so I'd say it was a success. In the end the actual charge was $200 less than the quote, so that was a plus. If you're moving a long-ish distance (where they base the rate on weight not hours) I would choose Colonial. My experience with them was hassle-free.

Beware of using this company. I have filed a consumer complaint against this company with the California Attorney General's office for loading my property in the back of another load so the items could not be retrieved at the end of the move. I was forced to sell my items but not reimbursed for the move. The kayak and paddle were new. The damage to my media console is irreparable. These actions are criminal. I am a disabled veteran over 65, and I believe I was targeted. This company's mover also damaged a new media console by breaking the leg off. The shipping agent at Colonial was negligent by not reimbursing me for the items that could not be retrieved or getting the fair price from the driver to reimburse me after I found my receipts. They also have refused to reimburse me for what I paid to move those items.

Worst movers. Many of our items were broken, several boxes were lost, extremely poor communicate and lack of follow up, what communication we received was not accurate, did not reimburse as quoted. Would certainly NOT recommend them.

Will I ever see the rest of my stuff again? Its been 4 months now since Colonial van/Allied has taken possession of my belongings for my move from California to Washington state. I was told 2 trucks would most likely be needed as there was so much stuff. The first truck arrived on time and was very professional in their loading and accounting of the stuff. However I was told that it wouldn't all fit so a second truck was indeed needed. Second truck came the next day but this was and "overflow" truck and I was informed that these items would be going into their warehouse in Fresno and then delivered later. The first delivery went as planned except that I was called at 4pm on the friday before to finalize the invoice and pay IN FULL the remaining balance. (around 29K onto my credit card because that wasn't enough time to get to the bank to get a cashier's check and then drive it to their downtown office.) If I didn't pay then I couldn't receive my delivery on Monday in washington. That is the "not professional" part of my review.Weeks went by with no contact. After I started calling I was told they were having problems getting a truck to come pick it up. I had to call the corporate Allied office. why was I the one who had to do this? So finally I got word that a truck had come to pick up my "overflow" portion (2 months later). When it arrived in Washington I was informed that there were still 15 items that were left in fresno because they couldn't all fit it on this truck. Sheez! So now they've resorted to "crating" my remaining belonging and it is still sitting in the fresno warehouse waiting to be picked up. Why is my stuff such low priority? Because THEY ALREADY HAVE MY MONEY! I will be filing a formal complaint because this is ridiculous. I guess Colonial has done their part they say because they have it ready to be picked up. So really it is the parent company Allied that is dropping the ball. If so, why can't they get this done? Don't they have any influence in what gets shipped? They have not fulfilled the contract to deliver my belongings. I posted this review also on Google hoping futile that someone will get something done on this!

I am sitting in an empty house 1,600 away and our entire house hold In Fresno is in the Fresno Colonial Van & storage warehouse! We are being told that they do not have drivers available to drive the truck to Texas! We contracted with this company in July and They had plenty of time to let us know there was a shortage of drivers! The local office and the National customer service with Allied Van Lines say we are working on it. Working on it!!!! Mean while we sit on the floor or rent a hotel room till who knows when? The one hundred dollars a day they will refund us will not even pay for that, much less all the other expenses we will incur. We were told you signed the papers and understood that was the agreement. We also signed an agreement that our furniture would arrive on time. Even if they found a driver tomorrow it would be another week before our possessions arrive. They had to have known when they picked up our household that there was no drivers available!! But once they have your things, you are at their mercy!!! Please do not believe the bill of goods the sales person is selling. There is no way your things are getting anywhere that is not local and even then I would hesitate....

Did a move from Fresno, Ca to Topeka, KS. Sales people were easy to work with. Delivered a few days later than the promised window. Some very minor damage on something I packed myself. Got a refund for the problems. Overall satisfied with the move.
