This is my favorite antique store in Old Town Clovis. Two floors of treasures to look through! Like many antique stores, there are a number of dealers who have their own little displays for their wares of yesteryear. What keeps bringing me back is the awesome vinyl collection on the second floor. You can typically find a cart of vinyl records right outside the front door. But head way to the back left corner of the store and you'll find the stairs to record land! Both 33s and 45s. A lot of the albums are separated out by artist/genre. There's also a wall with a display that shows off album covers. When you go in, check out the couple of bins that are labeled as new arrivals. It's fun to go through the inventory there, you never know what you'll find. Prices are reasonable and the people there are really nice.

I was holding a few items I wanted to buy, and I (a senior) asked a staff person an innocuous question. I got a very unfriendly response, and I don't-give-a-damn-attitude in response. These are strange and unfriendly attitudes toward customers, unlike other businesses in the area. With so many other antique stores nearby, their rather rude and brusque behavior is inexplicable. The business next door for instance was much more appreciative and receptive to customers. I left my intended purchases back where I found them, and persuaded the others in my circle to purchase nothing. Why is common civility difficult? (..and the staff were seniors like myself...but it appears that crotchety-ness has set in...)

i was going to buy some books but then i saw they put this racist thing out for nearly $40 so i set my stuff down and left. this is why they don't have any black customers. terrible. won't be back!EDITED TO ADD: had to edit my review to thank the uninformed owner for "schooling" me on the subject of "black americana" (hint: that's not what this is. this is just garbage!), as if i don't have a degree in the subject. LOL. the owner's complete lack of understanding just underscores what is wrong with this RINKY DINK store stocked with nightmares and trash. shane writes to me as if i've never been to an antique store before....when actually i've just never been to one this gross and with so little to offer me. congrats, shane, on successfully naming two black women. i guess you really showed me by lashing out and refusing to think through your racist policies, huh? does it make you feel better to talk over a real live black person who visited your "shop"? what a disappointment both this shop and this discussion has been. in my humble opinion, this place is trash. the ownership is not only making money hand over fist on dusty racist trinkets, but also is apparently unable to take any sort of constructive criticism! double the reason to avoid this total amateur hour. shane, i would say you should be ashamed of yourself but based on your response, i'm not sure you are capable of the introspection that would require. you want a teachable moment? here: its not just stocking this trash without context that sucks, its pricing it so you can make money off this without a second thought. again, disappointing!to anyone else reading, there's a reason this place has a low rating. if i were you, i'd avoid this lackluster shack of waste and pride, but feel free to see how bad it smells in person!

If you're a fan of vinyl, this is the place for you! They have a wide selection of thousands of records, including 45s. The records are reasonably priced, ranging from $3 to $30 from the hundreds I was able to look through. The rest of the store has pricier items, but there are some pretty rare finds in good condition. Definitely worth checking out if you're into antiques! The staff were also very kind and helpful.

I've been going to this antique store for about 5 years now and I used to love going here. In the last year or so every single time I have gone to this store, I have had at least one of the people that work here (sometimes multiple) be incredibly rude to me for no reason. The old man is the worst out of all of them. I've always noticed since the 2nd or 3rd time ever coming here how unfriendly the staff can be but I never had any of them be straight up rude to me like they are now. It's gotten to the point where I'm too uncomfortable to shop at this antique store now because of the treatment I've received. Their items are overpriced too. I remember the time I took a few antique items to sell them, one of them being a Smith Corona typewriter from the 50's that was in excellent condition and worth over $200+ and they only offered me $40 for it saying "we aren't going to sell it for much more" when I have seen them sell a similar typewriters for $250-$300. It's bad enough for the items to be overpriced but for the people that work there to be as rude as they are and unfriendly, that's just terrible customer service and lacking in common courtesy. I would highly recommend finding a different antique store to shop at, I know that I'm going to the same. If you do decide to go here anyways, you should try to avoid the staff and google any items before buying them to make sure you're not paying too much. As for anyone who is thinking about selling any items here, go somewhere else because they will pay you about 20% of what your item is worth and will sell it for a lot more money.

i love antique shopping... but my experience with this place was my very last straw of antique shopping in old town clovis. i often get weird looks or stare downs when i walk into any of the antique shops in old town. i often don't even get greeted at the doors of the stores around this area or get followed throughout the store but i try to ignore these experiences to enjoy my shopping experience. although, clovis antique mall was my favorite antique store out of all the antique stores i visited there because the people at the front were friendlier than most of the other stores, therefore i felt more comfortable in being able to shop in their store. in addition, i love vinyl records & their second floor accommodated so many records that i enjoyed looking through. one day (this was probably a year ago from when i am writing this today), i walked in and an elderly man at the front desk greeted me and began a conversation with me. i thought he was very nice for even talking to me. throughout our conversation, he asked me "what grade are you in?" and i replied "i'm a freshman in college". then he said, "what?" and i repeated myself a couple more times and he continued to shake his head in response to not being able to "hear me". after repeating myself several times, & because he was an older man i thought that maybe he could've had a hearing disability, he said "i don't understand people who wear masks,"--as he wasn't wearing a mask and i was. i was completely caught off guard at his response. i could care less whether he was wearing a mask or not but for some reason, he was compelled to make a snarky comment about my choice of wearing a mask in his store. i knew that'd be the last time i went shopping in old town clovis and i haven't been back there since that experience. old town clovis has disappointed my shopping experiences on multiple accounts and i do wish that there could be an improvement in the atmosphere of these stores. my one experience with clovis antique mall was just the last experience i wanted to have amongst all the bad experiences i've previously had in the old town shops.

My family and I were taking a little getaway vacation and decided to stop into this store first on our visit to Clovis. My husband and I wanted to see a couple of ceramic items in the locked case that were from a seller. The items were a pair of salt and pepper shakers that were "mammy themed." The salesman gave us such attitude and dirty looks and so I asked him his thoughts on these because I could sense that he was judging us and his lips were about to burst anyway. He shared his thoughts and we listened to his perspective. I tried to share my thoughts and perspective. We all will never get anywhere if we don't listen to each other, right? Well, that didn't go so well... Decided to just go ring up and as we were about to plunk down over $100.00 for these, the man was shooting daggers at us for buying these items in HIS store! If he disagreed with the mammy items and what he thought they represented, then he shouldn't allow them to be placed there in the store by the seller in the first place for customers to purchase. That is their prerogative, right, to decline certain items to be placed in their store if they disagree with or are offended by the item(s)? Why place an item in your store if you're offended by it with the possibility of someone buying it? Makes no sense to me. American history has many wonderful things and has many blemishes too. These periods in our history are just that... history. I teach my boys all history - the good, the bad, and the ugly. If we don't learn the good as well as the bad parts of our history, then we are doomed to repeat it. This is why I love antique stores because I, as well as my kids can learn how things once were and how they're no longer that way...My suggestion is to give your money to an antiques store that is kinder and more appreciative of their customers - who don't shoot daggers at you while plunking down a lot of money for items they decided to be allowed in their store. There were a ton of other stores we walked into that were gracious, friendly, and welcoming in Clovis. If they treat so many customers poorly, then they won't have a job much longer and be forced to close shop.
