Clay Mix was a terrific "find" for me. I had been wanting to try my hand at clay work and this studio/gallery turned out to be perfect. It offers both wheel and hand building instruction by very talented professionals, has the relevant supplies in the wisely stocked and reasonably priced store, and has a gallery displaying a variety of high quality work by both local and national artists. Outside work can be brought in for gas and electric firing at a very reasonable price. The employees and instructors are very supportive and friendly and the facility is kept immaculate. A VERY pleasant environment and a terrific opportunity in our community to discover and enhance skills in working with clay. We are lucky to have this facility in our area. It is a GEM. Check it out!

The staff is amazing, knowledgeable & extremely helpful. This is a full service pottery store. This studio is very conscientious about covid safety. Even though many places have re-opened their retail portion, they choose to remain closed & do curbside pickup. The entire transaction took place over the phone. If you have any questions they are quick to help. I was asking about glaze & the worker went back inside & brought out the sample board of glazes. They have not resumed classes yet either.

Welcoming and knowledgeable employees! Amazing and quick clay pick up! Affordable pricing for tools and firing fee is amazing. Any questions they quickly get back to you on. So stoked I found Clay Mix after moving from my previous SoCal studio.

I've been taking classes and and practicing in the studio at Clay Mix for 6 months now. It is, in short, a wonderful place. Wheel throwing class: Craig Easter, the instructor, is a magician at the wheel. What makes him unique is that he can put the magic into words. In short, he can really teach, and he is very generous with his time. I walked in with the goal of being able to center. 8 weeks later, I was throwing large bowls. Studio: People work with mud and clay in there and the doormat between the gallery/store and studio asks, "got dirt?", but somehow the place is immaculate. Gallery: The artists that exhibit (and sell) there are top-notch, which makes the gallery both inspiring and instructive. When we learned about bowls, Craig took us into the gallery and had us pick up and feel different bowls as he described the structure of a good bowl. When he was teaching me how to pull and attach a handle to a mug, we went to the gallery and examined the handles on all of the mugs. The gallery and studio are a perfect pair. Store: It's very nice to be able to walk over to the shelves, find whatever I need, and buy it right there. Prices are reasonable (same as anywhere else) and the stock , including books and any number of clay bodies, is comprehensive. People: Very friendly, and very knowledgeable. There is a lot to like about Clay Mix, but the people are the best part. Prices: Look on the website, www.clay-mix.com for class prices. Compared to New York City prices, tuition here is next-to-nothing. If you were really to break it down, the knowledge and skill per dollar ratio is very high.

Great studio, good prices, and friendly folks. I've gotten the studio day use package a few times (which is an awesome deal) and I've had a lot of fun here. The studio is well stocked with supplies and has a wide variety of equipment. I haven't taken a class here yet (I certainly intend to!), but it really seems like those who take the classes learn a lot and seem to have built a small community, from what I can tell.

It was an incredible moment visiting Clay Mix today, I'm not very informed when it comes to sculpture & ceramics but the art in the gallery is astounding! Artists from around the U.S. & Japan have their art for sale. It is an absolute treat to purchase one of the pieces. I would like to take a class soon.

Aside from the fact that I am able to buy a lot of my clay and glazes locally. I LOVE that they will mix glaze recipes for you. I LOVE that they have an incredible amount of knowledge when answering questions. I LOVVVVVVE Settuce who greets everyone by name and she even remembers what clays or glazes you normally buy.
