Chubby's

I last reviewed this place something like 5 or 10 yeqrs ago, still go there almost weekly and it's still under the same ownership with many of the same staff and, of course, a very large and loyal bunch of customers. So loyal that even with the inevitable changes during and since Covid this place is busier than ever. People made a point of eating there during that difficult time because everybody wanted to make sure they stayed in business. They'll do crispier/browner hash browns, fries, or their own yummy fried small sliced potatoes grilled with bits of onion and pepper, There's a big independent hardware store called Fresno Ag back in the parking lot on the South East corner of First and Gettysburg that carries all the stuff you can't find at Loews or Home Depot, stuff real craftsmen need to do quality work. Those guys eat at Chubby's, along with lot's of neighborhood families and seniors who enjoy the food and the really helpful and very competent staff. Our favorite breakfast or lunch place by far. Good honest food well prepared sounds like a cliché but it really applies to this place.

This was and is a childhood favorite of mine. When I was a kid in the 1990s we used to go with our mustang club. It makes me happy they are still open. I love this diner!

Chubbys server would not let me be seated while waiting for my children to arrive I have two knees replaced and need to either sit or keep moving server had bad attitude on Father's Day rude but Went to huckleberry's and had awesome visit and meal with kids And further more no oddball rule about no searing unless full party has arrived,my kids got there first and were waiting in a very nice roomy booth thanks ! Huckleberry's you saved family father's breakfast!! Not mention Food is delicious:)

Once again, great food and service and great prices! This one is 100% better than their other location which I will never go to again. It's a throwback theme and it's very casual. I had the San Francisco burger and it was excellent and my wife had the meatball soup was amazing! Great job people!

Decided to try the Blackstone Chubby's for breakfast today. Right by Hobby Lobby. I had a bit of a wait, as all tables were full when I arrived around 1130. As soon as a booth opened, I was seated and my drink order was taken. When my server brought my tea, she took my breakfast order. I'm opting for the Senior Breakfast today...two eggs, two sausage links, potatoes and toast. Reasonable prices at Chubby's. My breakfast didn't take long to come out. Everything was cooked perfectly. No brown on my eggs, flavorful potatoes, good sausage links and lightly browned toast. The restaurant stayed busy while I was there. My server was attentive. It was very warm inside, so I didn't stay long.

This was our first time trying Chubbys and we were not disappointed! My husband got the Chipotle burger, it had freshly grilled jalapeño slices, chipotle mayonnaise, grilled onions, and pepper jack. He doesn't usually like mayo but he loved this! It was the perfect amount of spice! The flavors were amazing and you could tell the jalapeños were fresh. The bun was also very good, we didn't expect fresh bread!! The fries were not crunchy, I don't mind but my husband hates soggy fries so he was a little disappointed. He said they tasted microwaved because they were scolding hot and not crunchy, nonetheless they were seasoned very well and I loved them. Their ranch is also really thick and good. I had ordered the All american breakfast that comes with 2 biscuits n gravy, 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon or sausage. I thought it going to come with potatoes (I may have misread the menu) so I ordered a side of toast to go with my eggs. The side of toast was $5 so I think we'll opt for no extras on our next visit. We both also got a lemonade which was $4 a cup. The biscuits were amazing and filling. They were actually peppered and didn't need anything else! The bacon was fried to an absolute crisp which I always enjoy but some might not. We ended up spending $45 on the meal for two. The meals themselves were both $12 which isn't bad, but the drinks/toast really bumped up the price. Looking at the menu, pricing is very odd. 2 biscuits are $10 alone, but the entire meal I got (eggs, biscuits, and bacon) was $12. Our waitress was very nice and quick. The food also arrived very quickly, no more than a 5 minute wait. We did go on a Tuesday afternoon so times may vary on weekends. There is very limited seating, but all the seats are booths. They also offer outdoor seating with shade tents. The restaurant itself was clean! The restroom was moderately clean. Some things could be better, but overall we had a great experience and will be going back. We will probably try the other location next time!

A classic staple. This is a legendary burger place let alone Diner, a classic throwback to the good old malt shop diners. Fun vintage atmosphere. The best part of the burgers for me is the homemade ROLL. Yes I said roll because that's ultimately what it is. They make these incredible chewy rolls that they slice to make the buns. Ordered mine to go. Packaged very well and maintained the great freshness until I got home and devoured in minutes. My only resentment is I wish they were open later so I could enjoy this more often.

Went here during lunch time and I love how it looks inside. The classic diner setting. We got seated right when we came in. The server was really friendly. I ordered the Rock N Roller burger with fries and it tasted soo good. Our order came out pretty fast. I love how they separate the veggies on the side :) and I really like the taste of their buns lol The meat was well cooked and seasoned. The melted cheese and mushrooms added more flavor and it went well with the burger. The fries were thick and fresh out of the fryer. Yummm I can't wait to go again :)

This has been our go-to breakfast spot for a couple years now! The food never disappoints, it's always delicious regardless of what you order. I love the old school diner vibe/ decorations and the service is always great.
