On a recent trip to Visalia, we got the craving for Chinese food and after searching Yelp we discovered Chinese Kitchen was one of our best local options. The target customer demographic in this area isn't generally Asian, so we tempered our expectations before dining here. We were impressed by the extensive menu offerings and after some deliberation, we settled on the Dinner for Two which started with a Won Ton Soup and fried shrimp and pot stickers as appetizers. The entree included sizzling rice wor bar, Peking pork and pork fried rice (we substituted for pork chow mein). The restaurant was very traditional in closing the meal out with fortune cookies. Our favorite due to its flavor was the Peking pork, and we also enjoyed the fried shrimp, pot stickers and sizzling rice wor bar. The only misses were the Won Ton Soup (we felt the flavor of the broth was not quite right) and the pork chow mein (it arrived lukewarm and lacking in flavor but it was an improvement after dousing it in chili sauce).Chinese Kitchen doesn't appear to be located in the best neighborhood, but it is easy to tell that this establishment has been around for quite some time. The best part of our dining experience was the service. Our greeter and server welcomed us, took our order and checked in on us multiple times. We also had the opportunity to chat with the owner and she is very welcoming and helpful. If you're in Visalia and have a craving for Chinese cuisine, Chinese Kitchen is as good an option as any!

Chinese Kitchen serves quality Cantonese food which I am accustomed to. I never get bored dining here. Service is prompt and friendly. We had friends visiting from Daly City , so today they're in for a treat We ordered Tomato Beef ,Beef Chow Fun along with Salt and Pepper Shrimp. The most exciting dish was the Salt and Pepper Shrimp. Lightly breaded not battered and seasoned perfectly . The size of the Shrimp were good sized and not tiny. Tomato Beef and the Chow Fun were yummy as well. Daly City is far from Visalia. My friends are looking forward to their next visit to Visalia and dining with us at Chinese kitchen*** May is API Heritage month. Support Asian owned businesses. Stop #1 of 13 . May 3 , 2023 ***

It's good. Don't be presumptuous based off the location or the way the outside looks. It's straight up 1990 inside decor, I don't think much has changed since I was a kid. I haven't been here in probably 10 years. The pot stickers were very good but the dipping sauce had too much vinegar in it, could be done better. The fried shrimp appetizer was standard fare. My wife and kids really enjoyed the sweet and sour pork and the beef chow fun. We took a flier on trying something new so we got the sizzling chicken clay pot. It was surprisingly really good, kind of reminded me of Panda Express mushroom chicken with WAY more veggies. I'd totally come back. I do wish they improved the ventilation inside the kitchen though. The restaurant smelled quite heavily of oil and it stuck to our clothes. I'd rate the food as top 5 Chinese in Visalia, which isn't really giving accolades; but it's what we got. Prices seemed a little high, but hey...hasn't everything gone that way?

I have tried a few other Chinese restaurants in the area that aren't at all bad but Chinese Kitchen is by far my favorite! Their food is consistently good and the staff I've dealt with have very been very nice and friendly. It doesn't look like much from the outside but when I did eat inside, service was good and it was a comfortable atmosphere. I mostly do take out and the lady who usually works the front has been very welcoming.
