Charmed Salon

This is a great little salon here in Madera with great women working there. I have been seeing the owner, Emily, for about 5 years now and I trust her 1,000% with my hair. What I enjoy the most is the atmosphere at the salon. The other stylists are always joking and laughing with one another, and they make you feel like part of the family, even if you are not sitting in their chair. It's a great place to get your beauty needs met while also getting in plenty of laughs and walking away feeling like a Queen! I used to drive to Fresno to get quality services, but no need now that Charmed Salon is in my home town! The pictures I've included are just a few of the services I've had with Emily.

Came here to fix the color on my hair from elsewhere because it didn't come out quite how I wanted it. My stylist was Luna! I redyed the purple to black! Got a gloss & haircut as well. I am so happy with the end result!!!! Luna was such an amazing stylist & gave me tips on how to style & take care of my hair! This place has such a comfortable and welcoming environment!!! I will definitely be coming back!!!

UTIMATELY MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN. The review below is not mine, it is one that is not a recommend review by yelp. You have to scroll to the bottom and click on the not recommended reviews button to see it. So I thought I'd copy and paste it below so people could see it more easily. I think it's important to know the good and the bad reviews and it strikes me as odd for this business to have not a single visible poor review. I have also been to see Emily and had a nearly identical experience so it sounds believable to me, should be posted. Pasted review: First the GOOD. She did a very nice cut and style every time. The shampoo smelled great and the place is clean. Prices are typical of most professionals.The BAD- Sometimes her color or haircut job turns out great or even better than expected, but it might not be what you actually asked for. She might try to say that it IS what you asked for or what you showed her. She might tell you that your hair can't get the color or style you asked for but only after she already did something else without discussing it. Lastly it might turn out worse than if you used a box of Loreal hair dye and did it yourself. Which is what a friend and I spent the evening doing to my hair after she ruined my previously beautifully balayaged hair.I originally just figured I had one bad appointment out of a few good ones and that she must of had an off day, so I gave her another chance a couple months later but I was very careful to talk about what I wanted and ask questions to be sure we were on the same page. I won't be going back and I wish I hadn't given her another shot! My guess is, I am not the only one who has had this experience! Please speak up if you have a bad experience or a good one. Madera is small and we should give our business to the professionals that appreciate it and do right by their customers. Her attitude about the whole ordeal when I tried to discuss it with her was like she didn't need my business so she didn't care how I felt about it!

If you go to this salon, SIT IN KARLA'S CHAIR! Met this hair stylist when she was working at Ulta in Fresno, and I followed her to Madera. She has transformed my hair from washed out red, to blonde, to more blonde, and eventually back to my natural hair color (dark brown). She has always used products that help with restoring the health of my hair and uses Olaplex in her services. She makes the environment of a dreading 6-8 hr appointment on your day off, FUNNY and ENJOYABLE. My next goals for my hair is restoring the health, growing inches with the help of Olaplex + haircuts and eventually a Brazilian blowout. Guess where I'm going? Karla's chair!
