Champ Construction

After months of soul-searching, developing our own draft plans, and visiting with friends that had recently completed home remodels, we selected Champ Construction to undertake a total remodel of the inside of our 40-year-old home. Rather than move to a new home, we decided to modernize the interior from the bare floors and walls to the lighting. We had seen work done elsewhere by Champ as well as in their online portfolio, and after going through various design iterations with Jon-Michael, we signed with Champ to initiate the work around Halloween 2017, initially just on the bedrooms, so that we would have the kitchen and living area for Christmas and New Year's, but then the rest of the house from Jan. 2nd through about the end of February. If there were a few words or phrases that we would use to describe Jon-Michael's oversight of our project they would be organization, attention to detail, and quality control. Jon-Michael's organizational skills were evident before we even agreed to have Champ do our project. He toured us through all the necessary steps to complete the project, the ones we should take care of (e.g., renting a POD) as well as the ones he would take care of, and then once the project got under way we had a written schedule of activities that was adhered to by all of the work crews, which were all licensed and highly experienced contactors. When we would discuss alternative design options, he wouldn't just go with the flow, but paid attention to detail and often suggested we consider alternatives, not that we always agreed with him. Champ was also a stickler for quality control. If something went wrong, as things sometimes will on a big project, they were committed to fixing them and quickly, and with as little stress as possible for us the homeowners. We are more than happy with the outcome of our remodeling project with Champ Construction. As a result, this holiday season we get to prepare meals in a modern and roomy kitchen (before & after photos posted). Champ did an outstanding job and we have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Micheal Jon is the your guy to get the job done right. He and his team were awesome. He runs a tight ship, finished everything on time as scheduled. Their quality of work is very good. When Michael came for the final check he even found the smallest imperfections and got it fixed. Thank you and your team.

A friend referred me to Champ Construction when my wife and I bought our home. Based on my experience--I have recommend Champ Construction multiple times and will contact Champ Construction for all future work on my home.Working with Jon (the primary contact) felt like having a family member in the business = helpful and a good advocate for a client's needs and interests. Jon understand that his customers are cost conscious and appreciate a contractor that meets deadlines. The prices were so reasonable that I expected the final bill to be 25% higher. In fact, the final bill came in a few dollars below budget. The home I purchased had a few permit issues lingering from the previous owner. Jon worked with the City of Clovis to efficiently and inexpensively resolve all of the issues. I trust Jon and highly recommend Champ Construction.

We are new to the area and needed to do a addition. Didn't know who to use and we found Champ. Champ took care of everything from a - z. It was nice to have someone taking care of things that we normally have to do on our own. Everything was taken care of promptly - calls returned, emails answered and texts returned. All the crew members who were in our home were polite and courteous. Our project took a little more time then anticipated but the few set backs weren't major and we didn't have a time limit to begin with. The job was also done the way we wanted it to be done, actually even better. If we have any projects in the future, we will be undoubtedly use Champ Construction

We worked with Champ on a couple of different remodeling projects. We chose Champ over the other contractors that we received bids from because they seemed to have the best balance between quality work and cost. If you've ever done remodeling projects you learn quickly that there's HUGE variation in bids. We initially tested the water by having Champ remove and replace an old entertainment center in our great room. We were pleased with the outcome so we expanded into a major remodeling of our three bathrooms and our kitchen. In the end, all the projects turned out great. Granted...whenever you remodel things rarely go as planned and we had a few hiccups along the way. Jon-Michael and his crew(s) were responsive and worked with us to resolve any issues that arose. It's been a couple of years now since our project was completed and Jon-Michael continues to provide assistance when we have issues even though we're past the warranty period. He has also been a great resource when we have needed work done by steering us to reputable service providers.

If you're looking for an honest & reliable contractor go with Champ!We were recommended Champ Construction for a major renovation project that we needed priced out to see if it was feasible. Jon-Michael came to our home at our convenience many times to discuss the project and iron out details of what we wanted. If he didn't have an answer on the spot he wouldn't make anything up - ever! He'd make a phone call and get the right info instead of misleading us. He was very prompt in getting back to us with answers.When the quote was ready my husband and I went over it with him and asked him for his honest opinion if, considering the scope of the work, would recommend us going forward. HE HONESTLY SAID, "NO." Of course he wanted the job, but integrity mattered more and that is priceless! We loved the design but at the end of the day we have other necessities that are wiser to put the money towards at this time (and in this particular home).We are more than appreciative of his time, effort, honesty, and kindness towards us. Champ Construction is a company we want to work with in the future!

We purchased a new home and we wanted to make some modifications before moving in. We selected Champs because they seemed fairly priced & Jon seemed like a good guy very thorough. But once the job started it was one issue after another at one point when I contacted him he sent his father instead of handling it himself. The man burst into my home began arguing & yelling at me until I finally kicked him out of my house. The French doors installed had handles installed crooked, stove installed was not straight, holes were covered with paint rather than correctly filled, messes were left when they finished for the day. they even cracked one of the travertine tiles in the entry and denied it. We received one excuse after another for the endless mistakes that were made( I only named a few of the issues). Overall I felt the work was sloppy, employees were lazy did minimum to get by ( rather than removing light switches to texture walls they just went around them, now if I remove plate there is no paint or texture).
