Casto Oaks Fine Wine and Art

Shop was completely empty when my friends and I came in for a quick wine tasting. We're a bachelorette party of 9 girls for reference. This was our first stop so we were fully sober. As soon as we came in, one of the girls had to use the restroom and the woman pouring wine said "I don't need lot of people going in and out of the restroom fixing their hair and doing their makeup." Which we all just exchanged glances and chose to overlook. Another couple showed up and the same woman said she needed to see everyone's IDs and told the other couple "except you two, you're good" and one person of the couple said "I'm offended, but thanks?" And she continued checking our IDs. When the bride gave her ID to the wine pourer, she took it, looked at it, and threw it down back on the bar, and fell down to the ground. She just said "oops sorry" and proceeded to tell us about the wine.Before she offered to pour any for us, she made sure we knew multiple times that it was $20 a tasting and kept insinuating it might be "too expensive" for us. At this point, we weren't feeling it and just left. Service was awful. Go across the street to The Local Grape where they're hospitable and very welcoming.

Tasting room located in downtown Mariposa, CA on the main street. The nearby vineyard is owned and mantained by a local couple.Tastings of 4 wines are available for $5. Free is you purchase wine. The selections available are only red wines.Local art and wine accessories are available for sale.

Loved the employee, she was stellar!I also enjoyed the wine tasting, which was only $5.There is free parking all over.The selection is fairly small, but good overall.

We rented an Airbnb near by/wanted to explore the area and stumbled upon Casto Oaks. Such a cute little spot!

The woman pouring for us on Thursday 6/21 was very friendly! She is a local, and very knowledgeable about the area. The flight is $5, waived with a purchase. The Tasting Room also has art and books for purchase. The wine itself was lovely, Man's Best Blend being a favorite for us.

Jason led us through a very enjoyable and social tasting. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the wine and conversation. Great local winery and a must stop if you're staying in the Mariposa area.

Loved coming to taste the wines and visit with Chris! Great way to learn about the area. The wine was amazing. Loved the Jessie Zin!!

We sent an email to Casto Oaks at 10am and received a phone call from Kris within 10 minutes! She mentioned the downtown tasting room was closed due to Covid but would love to have us at their vineyard approximately 9 miles north of downtown. We loved the hospitality from Kris and the beautiful location with such a great history behind it. An outdoor open patio deck and beautifully shaded trees made our experience memorable. The wine was superb, we'll definitely be back for more and to stay in their cozy Airbnb on the property.

We had a fantastic time at Casto Oaks winery! Their downtown tasting room was not available due to COVID. We were staying at a nearby vacation rental and decided to email them about tasting outdoors at their winery. I along with my husband and son arranged to meet them on a Friday morning. They are right on Highway 49. We had an absolutely lovely time tasting their wines sitting outside under the shade of many lovely oak trees. We saw a flock of turkeys on the property as we took a little tour of the vineyard!My favorite was the Man's Best Blend. What a cool name! We bought a case filled with 2014 Man's Best Blend, 2015 Zin and 2016 Syrah. They are delicious and well-priced. We also enrolled in their club membership. We also found that they have a lovely cottage that they rent. We are delighted to have found them!

Had an amazing time! We called to inquire about outdoor tasting and Kris invited us to their beautiful vineyard. The wine tasting took place on a beautiful little wood deck in the middle of the vineyard. There definitely was proper 6ft distance in place. The wine was so good. Kris even told us about their beautiful airbnb rental property on the vineyard, we are definitely stay there next time. She also showed us how they bottle the wine. Was an excellent experience!
