Carnitas La Piedad Taqueria

I am no carnitas expert.. I tend to order asada or shrimp when I eat at taquerias, but with carnitas in the name, of course I had to try it. And wowow, is my life changed forever because of Carnitas La Piedad!My husband came as part of a "birthday taco trail" around Fresno that I came up with for his birthday. We were near the tail end of the trail and eating less as he day progressed. We walked in and immediately we're hit with the aroma of carnitas that have been stewing all day. The worker behind the counter was so pleasant and excited to share his recommendations and plenty of samples with us. We ended up getting the 2 carnitas taco plate with double rice, no beans. He asked if we wanted skin on, and we said yes. Make no mistake, skin is the way to go!The carnitas are so tender, gummy, fatty, flavorful, juicy. When you get pork with skin, you are getting all the complexities of textures that come with the skin + fat + meat layers. Cooked to absolute perfection where all the morsels are tender flavor bombs.This was the highlight of our taco trail. What an absolute gem!

Best birria ramen in town.. Always delicious and will always come back for this. I would love to have a location in the north side of Fresno

There are so many taco spots on this street, so it was difficult choosing one! I looked at reviews, saw how highly this one was rated, and decided to give it a try. From the moment we walked in, we knew this was going to be a great experience. The place was pretty busy, clean, had a vibrant and lively interior, it smelled WONDERFUL, and the employees were working so quickly!We ended up getting a burrito (minus the guac, cheese, & sour cream) & the 2 Taco + beans + rice plate. Prices were cheap!! I originally thought the burrito would come with vegetables, but it still tasted good. My taco plate was a solid FIVE! The Mexican rice had so much flavor and the beans tasted fresh. My tacos also tasted great and were filling, but next time I might get two plates. We also got Horchata which was a solid 5!! It was a little on the sweeter side, so if you like that, I would strongly suggest getting one as well. We will be back!

All it took was one carnitas taco and I'm immediately a fan. This place is known for their carnitas and they do not disappoint, hands down best in Fresno. They're a bit far from me but worth the drive. I also tried the asada tacos and sope and they were delicious. Flavorful, authentic so so good! All the toppings I expected and more. Good price on the tacos too. My other favorite was the torta, it's comes with beans and a really nice melted cheese crust. Perfection! The restaurant itself is clean, very well organized and fast ordering no more than a few minutes every time I've ordered. A must try spot! The only miss for me was the breakfast burrito, I got Machaca (shredded beef) and it was oily but everything else has been great.Definitely worth a drive out and they have good family packages for larger parties!

Viva La Piedad! What a great place, finally came in to try them for lunch, as we use them to feed our team in the mornings on occasion. The place was hopping, there was a small queue as we arrived, but the wait was well worth it. We met the owner and she was very gracious with her time. I asked to try some dishes I have never had the pleasure of trying and she obliged. I settled on quesabirria tacos and my co worker went with his go to. Chilaquiles. The food was outstanding the restaurant was packed with the loyal stack of patrons and a few newbies like myself ready to explore the menu. This happens to be really close to my office in Fresno so I will be back for some other delights.

We were in the neighborhood and getting hungry. My wife wasn't feeling well, so I suggested we dig the taco stand next door instead. You know, grab it and go. But she still insisted we go in. Apparently, she thought the taco stand and La Piedad were the same place, as did our friends who came in a few minutes after us. First thing I notice when walking in was the advertisement for the Carnitas Burger. If I was really hungry, I would have definitely got it. As it stands, I'm just kind of hungry, so I pass. I also see the birria Ramen, but I've had it before at another restaurant. Plus it's warm outside, so warm food doesn't song like a good idea. I go with the Tacos Dorado, son gets the super fries, and wife gets the birria tacos, which I couldn't find on the menu anywhere. Her tacos were great, as you could expect from birria tacos. I don't care for crunchy tacos personally, and I want hungry enough to eat all 5 of them. Since my son and daughter shared the fries, I gave her my last taco. One thing I can rave about, the salsa. It wasn't the typical tomato based salsa you usually find at Mexican restaurants. The flavor was great! Probably the second best salsa I've had in recent memory. I'll definitely be back to try that burger, as well as some regular tacos

Wow by far the best food! I am picky with my quesabirria's and this one was just so good. El caldo y todo ! This place is so popular and now I know why. Come in fast and get a seat! There's a line at times. The waiter is muy amable. Food comes quick and they bring it you. The plates are huge!!! Ambiance is nice with the good music playing

The food was delicious and amazing will definitely make this a family takeout place or dine in the red Chicharron and carnitas with queritos was very delicious and hamburger birria was outstanding as for the ceso Birria tacos were to die for

Still upset about the carnitas burger. My co workers and I have stopped going there. We have worked in the area for like 2 months and have chosen NOT to go there 3xs in like a 2 week period. Maria is it is then. Corner of cedar and Jensen
