My husband and I stopped in here for a quick bite after being in town for a class reunion. We were greeted as soon as we entered. The menus are on the tables and if you're ordering more than a drink, you can sit and decide what you want and then order at the counter. He had waffles and hash brown patties and said both were very good. I had a blueberry bagel (very fresh) toasted with butter. We both had coffee and the waiter brought us a pot to keep on our table for refills. I also had orange juice, and the total bill was $20 and change. You won't get that where we live, unfortunately. The owner came out to make sure we had everything we needed and we were happy with our food. We will definitely come back when we are back in town. The only thing I might recommend changing is the jam/jelly - I suppose I'm a jam snob (I bring my own when we are home), but having Knotts or another brand would be a big plus.Give it a try - you won't be disappointed. I found the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant very enjoyable. Many aspects of the food service were questionably nice. Love the ambience and very much enjoyed my food. I was very happy with the turnout with the speed and efficiency of which my meals were prepared and of course, my favorite part was the non-apparent dent in my wallet. The prices are very reasonable and I can't think of a nicer neo brunch spot in Main St., Porterville.
