"I found Sara and Scott on a random web search a couple years ago. Our family was looking for a photographer to do a family photo shoot for the holidays. We made this decision on a whim and very last minute to be done over Thanksgiving. Sara and Scott stepped up to the challenge and went above and beyond any expectations we had. They were friendly and fun and took the best photos I have ever seen of my family. Everyone (all 11 of us) had a great time and the photos spoke for themselves. I was so happy with that family photo shoot that I knew the minute I got engaged that I had to have them for my wedding. "So this might be an odd recommendation because I am only going to focus on customer service as we didn't end up having pictures taken. Why you ask? Because I made a mistake and booked a photographer in a different Shelter Island then the one my family was vacationing. See my family is spending a week at a home in Shelter Island NY. I wanted to surprise my mom with family photos. Chelsea responded right away and we began sending emails back and forth. She was wonderful and I wish she was in NY and not CA. When we realized my mistake we had a laugh. This review is because Chelsea was wonderful to communicate with. Her responses were timely and she answered all our questions. Her photos are beautiful from those I reviewed. Again I wish we could have worked with Chelsea but alas I learned a valuable lesson that there are at least two Shelter Islands."

"I've used Jen twice for photos. The first time we did a family session and a smash cake session for my then one year old. I had brought some props for my daughters themed smash cake. I also told her the theme and she brought some stuff to match that I didn't have that were perfect. She was awesome enough to charge us $200 for both sessions. (I got pricing from other photographers and they were asking for $500 for both, NO THANKS). She quick and got the perfect shots for us. What I love the most about her is she sends ALL of the pictures she takes to you so you can pick which ones you like and want edited.When it came time for my daughter to turn two I knew I had to use Jen again and she totally remembered us. She gave us different locations to check out and pick where and style we wanted. Jen totally improvised when my daughter went running the other direction or wanted her doll in the picture. And of course, the pictures turned out so cute it was hard to decide which ones i wanted edited."

I had already booked a wedding photographer and put a big downpayment with him or I would have used her instead. On the day that we were to take the mini Valentine's day shoot, she was awesome.
