Meika M. "I stopped in hoping I could find a good book for a beginner. The owner is so warm and friendly that I spent a good hour chatting about all sorts of things. When I left, I had the book I'd been hoping for as well as a couple of succulents, some rock, and a brand new pot. If it hadn't been such a hot day I could have easily spent more time ( and more money) there. Looking forward to going back for supplies once I finish the book so I can get started on my own little tree in a pot."

Jeremy C. "Fernwood gardens is a unique nursery that also sells vintage signs, decor etc. The gardens have started doing small food truck events there as well. The local Grayview brewing was at the Madera animal charity event the gardens hosted and a local taco shop -just check there social media for upcoming event info. Most everything you see hanging is for sale. The woman who owns and runs the gardens has always been helpful, nice and is very knowledgeable about the plants she sells. Her husband is the collector and you can find his picks of vintage goods placed throughout, if you see something you like there should be a price tag or they have a price list too -just ask for help. Staff here are very helpful too, the gardens are setup nicely and is full of plants and trees not commonly found at most local home improvement chains. You can find a variety of trees that are not the usual like chocolate persimmon trees, a good variety of cactuses all sizes. The selection of trees are one of my favorite things. I definitely would recommend this place to our community.."

Sara B. "I came for a plant but also I was curious about the beer garden and planned to stay for that as well. We were immediately greeted by a young man that asked if we needed help and told me the hours of the gift shop and nursery. He also mentioned the beer garden with live music and food trucks. The nursery is really nice to walk through. I loved that they also have fresh herb plants to buy and they had more than 4 variations of mint plants. I had no idea there was even such a thing as "orange mint". I chose my plant and then another staff member told me about the type of plant I had and best way to care for it. He said that I could put the plant up at their register and I could pick it up on my way out after starting for the beer garden. The beer garden was so much fun! They have it Thurs-sat from 5:30-9:00pm. There were several food trucks that offered different types of food from burgers, bbq, Asian foods, ice cream and pies! The bar serves only beer, seltzers and ciders (no wine), sodas and bottles of water. The live band started playing at 6:00pm. People were dancing, eating, socializing and just having a good time. There are plenty of picnic tables for seating but I did notice the later you arrive the picnic tables closest to the band fill up faster. There are also plenty of tables out by the food trucks and they are a bit farther from the music so if you want to get away from the music a bit, there is that. It is such a great vibe to feel part of the Fresno community where families, friends and even singles can just come relax and enjoy some fresh air."

"This is a fabulous nursery - in the last six months I have purchased: mulch, deer resistant pellets (to keep deer from eating my plants), gifts for Christmas, Christmas ornaments and a Christmas tree. The service is also friendly, helpful, but not obtrusive. I am so glad this business is in Oakhurst. We plan to buy some deer resistant plants in the spring. Also, there is at least one nursery cat, which is always fun."

Michelle S. "I had no idea Lotus garden nursery was a literally down the street from my house. I went in for advice on my grass and for assistance to help me because it seems to be dying even though I water it all the time, on my water days of course. After I received advise on my grass, I asked about different trees that I could plant in my front yard. I don't have a large front yard and I needed some thing that had a non-invasive roots. The entire time I was there I was given such wonderful advice and such great suggestions on trees that have non-invasive roots that will not overpower my yard or grow around my water pipes. As soon as I walked in the lotus gardens, I felt so relaxed. It is such a wonderful place to walk around and to shop. The employees are so helpful and so nice. I wish I would've known they were there a long time ago. I will totally be visiting again in the near future. If you have it, then you're really missing out on a little hidden gem ."

We were shocked of how HUGE this place was and had fun exploring this place. The Nursery was filled with so many goodies! I love that they have a station where you can build your own plant bundle which is pretty cool! I loved all the flowers were beautiful but expensive at the same time. We stumbled upon a Welcome wooden plant holder for a reasonable price and I fell in LOVE with it! Absolutely beautiful. I got it and it has beautiful plants in it as we speak! Couldn't be more thrilled about it.Staff was friendly but busy watering plants and tidying up. They have really cute garden decor here which I am coming to come back to decorate for Fall Season as this was my summer season trip.Great place to get all your plant needs done, even for gifts too or something special! It's like you're walking in to someone's house. The owner is super nice and helpful if you need any particulars. There are 3 rooms with varied plant species. I decided to go for a small Calathea Makoyana. She gave me a lot of info and even wrote down a helpful card with care tips. Since I was there for Fresno Made, I received a free bottle of "Joyful Dirt" which was awesome because I needed to fertilize all my house plants! If you're a plant lover, it's worth checking out :)"

The girl that was assisting us was very nice and helpful. Answering all of my questions. Kevin L. "Love this place! We were landscaping our backyard, wanted to make it tropical and stopped to check this place out. Sago Reys is a family run business with a TON of plants to choose from.We were greeted on Saturday by Martin, one of their sons who spent an hour showing us a number of different plants and trees. He even pulled some out to show us how we could set them up in the yard. Super nice and super knowledgeable. We brought about 20 plants home. Then we went back this past Tuesday to get a few more, were greeted by the owner, Maria who helped hand select 4 Queen palms. Not only were these 4 feet taller than the ones we bought at Home Depot (before we knew about this place), but were $5 less per tree. Honestly wish I had another yard to landscape so I could give them more business, though we may go back for some house plants. Family run business with a son serving our country. Why wouldn't you want to give them your business?"

The staff took time to help me find and select the fig tree that was "just right" for our family. Plus, the staff provided helpful suggestion for planting the tree, as well as fertilizing strategies for my cold crops currently growing.
