"Good food AND good portions. Came here with a party of 7 on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy! This place feels like you're not in Fresno, but rather, on a vacation and stepped foot in a beautiful building. They offer a ton of different appetizers and entrees, but since we were a bigger group, we decided to go with their combo kebabs family-style dinner! It says it feeds 4-5 people, but I think it easily fed all 7 of us with leftovers to spare! The meat and the rice pilaf were delish. Don't even get me started on their garlic sauce.... SO GOOD! This family-style dinner even comes with baklava and that was YUMMY! We also got their Baba Ghannouj as an appetizer and it was a HIT at our table. Service was great! They constantly refilled our drinks and checked in consistently. It was my first time coming here but I imagine it certainly won't be my last!"
"Tofas is pretty good mediterranean food, the restaraunt itself looks like it should be nice (and for the most part it is), but they REALLY need to repair or replace all their booth cusshions. I would say those are a major eyesore and really the main reason I'm giving them such a low score. The food is great, and the service is impecible. It's a little pricey, but I guess what isn't nowdays."
Tender cuts of chicken, expertly grilled and infused with our signature blend of spices, delivering a tantalizing kick. Tareks favorite!Looking for more food and better value? Check out our family-style meals, perfect for sharing!

"The food is fresh-we love their garlic chicken--and, good pilaf as well. Easy to order for take out, and pleasant service for dining in. Great location-perfect for quick lunch or pick up when needing to go to the post office or FedEx next door."
"We ate here at 10/19/24 approximately between 8:10pm to 9:35pm. My friend and I had the worst experience here. We waited over 40mins for our food. My friend order a pasta with chicken and I ordered a vinaigrette salad with goat cheese.Other people that arrived later got their food before us. When we asked our server Hannah S where our food was, she said there was an evening rush of people. It was a busy evening, though from the moment sat down to the moment we left, there was not very many people there. My friend would constantly try to make contact with any of the staff so we could get help, and no one came. Our server Hannah S. made this excuse that her chicken was needing to be defrosted and it took 15 mins to defrost and it is almost an hour before we got our food. And that is why it is taking long. She said that my salad was done and all she was waiting for was my friend's pasta and chicken. First off, as a customer I would not want to know my chicken is frozen and being defrosted.Shortly after, we spoke to our server again about the delay, our food magically appeared. My friend's pasta was not really warm. It tasted like it had been sitting there for a bit.My salad obviously looked like it was just made. We didn't get our silverware till right before our food came. This makes it seem like our order was not placed or they were discriminating toward us especially since we were the only Asians there. At this point of us waiting for so long for our food, it should have been at least comped for the inconvenience. As guests of visiting the city of Visalia, we are disappointed at the quality of food and customer service. This is not a good representation of the restaurants here. Not sure why there is this many positive yelp reviews. And don't get me wrong I seldom post bad reviews, but this was one I had to share."
"THE. LAMB. CHOPS. Interior is clean, service is fairly quick. The food? Great. Got the lamb chop plate with rice pilaf.... the lamb was so incredibly tender and flavorful. Would 100% come here and get it again!"
"This place was amazing! The service, food, and music was a wonderful experience. We walked to the counter thinking that we order first then find our seats. They actually offer table service. So when you come in, just pick a table and a server will come out and take your order for drinks and food. I did pick up the menu at the counter though just to get a head start. Staff were really nice but didn't come back to check on us until it was time for our check. Food did take bit longer than I expected, especially since there were only two other tables with customers. The presentation was beautiful and flavor was wonderfully seasoned. Everything was delicious. However, I did not care for the rice. It has cinnamon in it. Never had it like that before and I wouldn't order that again. My husband thought the rice was interesting and he end up liking it. The beef I had was a little tough but still flavorful. The rest of my plate was incredible. I would definitely come back here. Can't wait to try more items."
"We found lots of seating within the diner. A beautiful ground to ceiling mural upon entry. The lady who took our order was very nice.We ordered the 3 kebab plate, with chicken, lamb, and Turkish beef. The chicken was good, a bit sour for our kid's liking, and my wife felt it was a bit dry. The lamb was tender and not gamey, but was under seasoned, and that's a pretty big deal. The Turkish beef was the highlight of the three. Great flavor. My wife felt it was pretty tough. It came with pilaf, 1 stuffed grape leaf, salad, macaroni salad, a pita, and garlic sauce. I liked the pilaf, stuffed grape leaf, and garlic sauce. But the pita seemed store bought, the Mac salad was underwhelming, and the salad was okay. One big mark down just for this visit is that the restroom wasn't work, so we had to drive down to the local gas station since we expected a working restroom to be here after our hike. At $22 for a large plate, we are left with mixed feelings. Their menu is large but my concern is it's not sustainable in this economy. If they can manage, great. But I'd cut down on 4 menu items to just have fresh pita on the menu."
"First time trying. I've actually never heard of this restaurant. A kind vendor offered to buy us lunch and one of my coworkers recommended this place. Ordered a chicken plate came with rice pilaf, veggies and pita bread. The food was packed nicely and pretty good portion. The rice and the veggies were delicious. The chicken had a good flavor but felt it was little on the dry side. The garlic sauce was amazing and the pita bread was so good. I would love to visit their restaurant one day and take my husband since he loves Mediterranean food. Overall really enjoyed lunch, so filling and delicious!"
"Love love their food! Try their chicken Marsala pasta! Try their gyros! Best Greek food in town!"
"I know the place is fairly new to the location, but there wasn't any signage outside. The inside had very minimal decorations. It had a cafeteria vibe to it. Hopefully more effort will be put into the overall ambiance. My order took about 15 minutes to get, but I understand. As mentioned by many other people, the food is served in take away containers with plastic utensils. The food was tasty and I enjoyed it. I was full and satisfied."
"The man who helped us was super nice and adorable. There's nothing like the smell of fresh bread cooking.I grabbed some Lamhajoon(sp?) aka Armenian pizza and some Olive flat bread. The lamhajoon is pretty good and cheaper and larger than Fresno Deli's. But I like the one Fresno Deli's offer better in terms of taste. They also have lots of beef filled pastry things. They looked like mini calzones. There is also a $10 minimum to use your card. Will definitely be coming back for the bread."
"Alla's Mediterranean is located in a small strip mall by a Chevron gas station. Based on the photos of the exterior and interior, do not judge this restaurant by its appearance. The food and service is phenomenal! We enjoyed our waitress who was very kind and welcoming. The Chicken Salad and Lula Kebab Salad were refreshing and produce was fresh. The pita and garlic hummus were very good! We hope to try the Lahmajoun - Armenian Pizza next time. They were unfortunately out of ingredients."

Food came out fairly quick and the lamb was definitely juicy and fall right off the bone. My other favorite would be the chicken skewers. Portions are huge! We would have been able to just share the lamb and try different sides.

I think my visit was just okay. Below I've summarized how each part of my plate was! Chicken: This was actually the star of the show! It was tender, very flavorful, and paired nicely with everything. Rice Pilaf: I think it was a little too yellow (?) and a bit too oily for me. The flavor was also okay, but not my favorite. Salad: Too much vinegar!!! Veggies: Pretty good! Only a few pieces though. Hummus: I think it just wasn't to my taste, but it was really salty (compared to ones I've tried in the past) and a little watery. Pita bread: Perfect! Overall, I think the flavors were really strong and I was hoping for a mediterranean that was more subtle. I do think for the price, portions (especially the chicken) should've been much more. There also weren't many people dining inside, so it was a bit quiet.

This place is walking distance to most offices in Downtown Fresno. I walked over with my coworker and we ordered the exact same thing. However our totals were different. The girl at the front who was multitasking said it was because one was a credit card and the other was debt so you get charged more. That's stupid and card is a card! The food was good and was quickly made. Just really annoyed that I was charged extra for using a debit card over a credit card

Good food. Better drinks. Nice cool environment for impressing a date. It's a nice place but you will pay for it. Prices are a little high for what you get but it delivers what you would expect. Worst part is the long walk to the bathroom.

I decided to try this place out the other night as I doing some shopping.I didn't feel like picking up fast food. I was very impressed I must say. I walked in and was immediately greeted. This is a nice place go either grab a bit to go or sit down and eat. I decided to order to go. You have your choices of Kabob plates, salads in which you can add protein to them. They also have Shawarma wraps and side such as fries, veggies or grape leaves. They have also have kids bowls.I went with chicken kabob plate. I was not disappointed at all. Plenty of pilaf with a good amount of chicken, a nice little cucumber and tomato salad with hummus, pita bread and garlic sauce. Everything was delicious. I will be going back to try other plates. This would be perfect to lunch or dinner.

A new restaurant in Clovis that opened recently with the original on the southwest corner of Cedar and Nees. Large selection of menu item to choose from. My wife and I shared a chicken tawook dinner that was absolutely delicious. Tender grilled chicken pieces served with bulgar, hummus, garlic dipping sauce, pita bread and salad with a grilled jalapeño. Mouth watering and filling. The service was good and courteous. A large dining area with booths and tables. Will come again to try some more dishes here.

Please keep this place in business. You can mix and match samosas. This place is authentic and even their trash smells good. The food was spectacular. If you live in Tesoro Viejo please it hit this place up. It's a scenic drive and no further than riverpark. Worth the drive and definitely worth the price! Loved this place and we will definitely be coming back!

Since my mom babysat my dog, I wanted to treat her so I decided to take her to this landmark restaurant. She never even heard of AJ's. I know it is one of my best friends favorite restaurant. She even had her birthday celebrated here. I wanted my mom to have bulgar with her beef kebab and she wasn't sure if she would like it. A really nice server gave her a sample plate and she fell in love with it. we also tried their hummus with pita bread and my mom devoured most of it. She wants to come back again and was so happy with the food and the service.

"Stopped by here this Sunday evening on my way out of Fresno, and ordered a rice plate with chicken. For some reason, the chicken was red, like Tandoori chicken. Not exactly what I was expecting, but the flavor was amazing, and it tasted really fresh and high quality. The rice was good, although it was a bit on the greasier side, and less on the seasoned side. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, and the tzatziki sauce also tasted fresh and perfect. The man who took my order was very friendly, and made my food right away. I was surprised by how fast it came out, especially because it tasted freshly prepared. The portion size was on the smaller side for Mediterranean food, but so was the price. Both the portion size and price were about half that of my favorite place in Sacramento. Still, it was more than enough to fill me up, and I ended up taking a small amount of leftovers back to Yosemite. My only complaint would be the proportions of food. It was almost all rice, with maybe three or four ounces of chicken, a little bit of lettuce, a tiny amount of chopped tomato, and a good spritz of tsaziki. I would have loved more sauce, hummus, or maybe some cut up pita or fries.Although I would have liked more variety, I was satisfied overall, and felt like I got a decent value for the price I paid. I would definitely come back here again."
"This is my go to spot for amazing Mediterranean food. I always get the chicken kebab plate with pilaf and it's always prepared well and hits the spot. Highly recommended plus your order is prepared quickly and tastes fresh."
"This is the second time I ate here. This time the rice was cooked perfectly and everything was great. We wanted to try the Dubai chocolate which is what brought us in. I think next time I would get the chicken kabob dinner option as it comes on a kabob and I feel would be more flavorful and juicy that way and then just share it since it is a large portion. The kids are picky so daughter had cheeseburger which she said was good and other use the coconut shrimp and absolutely loved it. Definitely will be coming back."
"Charming little winery and kitchen near Yosemite's South entrance. This was a great way to begin our trip to Yosemite. Stayed in Oakhurst for the first time since we were traveling from CA instead of NV. The location is surrounded by nature and visiting in late October offered the perfect outdoor experience. Did a wine tasting and ordered some food among the trees. We shared some amazing wild mushroom and sherry soup, burrata with local blistered tomatoes, and baked Camembert with golden raisin compote and honey. Everything was great and loved all the local ingredient's. We even had the cutest little black kitty come join us at our table and it was the highlight of an already fab afternoon."
"Such a great spot for a nice quaint dinner! Headed there tonight and was not disappointed! The drinks were amazing, food was delicious, service was exceptional and ambiance was romantic. Definitely will be returning!"
"Solid wrap and so tasty. I think I wanted it to be slightly bigger. They are often handing out samples of their meat which does taste good. We tried it when they were at the Enzo parking lot. There was no where to sit so we ate in our car."
"In my opinion the food is great. I especially love the garlic sauce and fattoush salad. Service is good, friendly staff. During lunch it can be a little chaotic. Definitely recommend calling in your order if your taking it to go"
"As someone who is a huge fan of barcades, Joystiq was pretty darn fun. Coming from the Bay Area, I'm always amazed at how much more affordable drinks are. We ordered a draft beer and a Paloma, and the bartender said $16...the Bay Area hasn't seen those type of prices in a decade, but I digress...This venue is huge and heard it gets really packed on weekends. We came before dinner across the street and it was nearly empty which was great because there was no wait for the basketball pop a shot or beer pong tables. The pop a shot is a $1 a game and it's an old school arcade that takes quarters at all the machines. They have a coin dispenser so remember to bring cash. I hadn't played beer pong in years, but safe to say, I still got it. They had two tables setup for use, with all the cups filled with water and ping pong balls to use. I really forgot how much fun I have playing BP, especially after some friendly competition with the gf. Overall, if you are looking for a fun place to play arcade games, drinking games, and affordable drinks, this is a great option in downtown Merced. Good for large groups or a competitive date night."
"Great food and great service. It's quiet with a bar. Street parking available. My daughter loved the shrimp pasta."
"Craving a salad for dinner. Husband introduced me to broilers years ago since he used to work for them many moons ago and we've been going together on and off over years. Loved that he knows the ins and outs of the menu so he would always order for me. Surprised to say this is my first time at this location. They now have a self ordering kiosk which was what we used when we ordered. My husband got a chicken and beef plate. I ordered half a beef salad. Our order came out fairly quick. Large portioned and everything was so delicious and very filling. Plenty of sauces was given. The beef was so tender and flavorful. Everything always comes out so delicious when we get broilers. Prices has increased over the years but the food quality has stayed the same IMO. Cravings were satisfied!!! The workers were very nice and the place was clean. Definitely coming back to this location."
"Nice, new (as of mid-'23) little place inside Village Mall in downtown Kingsburg, where there are also some cute gift, children's, and garden shops. This is counter ordering with limited seating in the area and a little more in the mall hallway - quiet for our weekday lunch but might be less so when busy. No problem - just take out, because the food is worth it.I had a chicken shawarma plate so tasty I didn't even need the garlic sauce, and the pilaf was light and fluffy. My companions enjoyed their gyro and chicken wraps, the latter having a little spice kick. Side salads were nothing out of the ordinary, but side French fries were plentiful. The counter worker (possibly the owner) was helpful and attentive. It's a little hard to spot because the only sign outside is for all the shops in the little mall. Just look for the mall sign and head through the door (it feels like you might be entering one of these shops but you're not) and straight to the back - it's well marked. You might evening enjoy the other shops too, as I did."
"I've been to many middle eastern restaurants and most of them are very consistent with the different flavors and spices. For some reason this spot was different , the reason I'm writing this review. The location, cleanliness and staff were on point very happy with them. But, for some reason the food was off."
"Great service, very friendly staff, generous portions, but the food was a bit too salty for us."
"This is a small hole in the wall place with excellent customer service. Someone at work recommended it as her favorite place in Fresno. I'd never been here so I asked for a recommendation and they pointed me to the mixed grilled plate so I could try a little of everything. I didn't know what bulghur was so I skipped on it and opted for rice, but I was offered a small plate of it to try and it was super good!! I'll definitely get half and half next time. The dinner was yummy and the serving was huge. I tried, but barely finished more than half. The Kafta was probably my favorite meat - super tender and perfectly spiced. The baba ghanouj and tzatziki were very yummy also. Like another Yelp reviewer said, the garlic creamy dip is amazing with the meat. Definitely recommend. I can't wait to go try other things."
"Fantastic food! Everything is prepared in house and is absolutely delicious. The restaurant does not look very grand on the outside. In fact, it is located directly behind a used car showroom. However, do not be deterred, the food is so great. It will bring you back to an area of much needed attention. The food is priced extremely reasonably with dishes ranging from 12 to $20. Traditional Yemeni lamb stew for 24 hours is the highlight of the menu. I highly recommend the Mesa plate which is a combination of stuffed grape leaves, Bubba Hannoush, hummus, falafel with olives and tomatoes. The Yeini bread is a large 10 inch round, baked fresh upon ordering. With a serving of lamb soup, salad, burger, buns, rice, and the entrée you ordered. We ordered chicken, kebabs, and beef kebabs, or were cooked to perfection; moist, tender, and delicious. The service was great. There was a young man, who was highly efficient. He brought food out immediately, and within minutes all of our dishes were presented to us.One of the best items on the menu was in fact that homemade lemonade. I must have! I highly recommend this restaurant and be prepared to be pleasantly surprised!"
"Here for lunch. They've got a special everyday that includes a drink, appetizer. and your meal that has your choice of chicken or beef lula, rice pilaf or bulgar and bell pepper. Just heard that this restaurant just opened last week. Good value for the meal. Another plus for me was a quiet environment and clean."
"Tried Zees last night and truly enjoyed our dinner.Service was excellent and the food came out fairly quickly. The decorations are mostly retro signs and posters, tables and chairs inside and out.I had the jalapeño spicy smash burger with bacon. Burger was good but the hot honey sauce was a bit overpowering. It was a bit spicy but mostly sweet. The fries were perfect! Crispy, tasty, and hot.We will be back to try the kebabs and hummus, it looked delicious."
"We were in Riverbank to catch a movie at their IMAX theater and decided to grab a bite after. I looked for restaurants in the area and this little gem popped up. After reading all the reviews we decided to give it a try.So glad we trusted those reviews as the food was so good!! First off, this is a very small restaurant with only about 8 tables inside and a few outside. It's very quaint if on a date, very nice that it is small. The staff is very attentive and was constantly checking on us.We had the crab cakes for an appetizer and they were so good and fresh tasting. They have wonderful rolls, seems like it is the same dough that they use for their pizzas. They were hot, fresh and very light. We both had the chicken parmigiana with red skinned mashed potatoes. They served winter veggies with the meal and everything was so good and flavorful.Again, the staff was very attentive and made sure we had enough rolls and beverages throughout our meal. The wait for our food was reasonable and you could tell it was made fresh. We definitely will be coming back and trying other items from their menu."
"Was craving an authentic gyro ... was pretty excited to find a place here in Visalia! Very clean inside and staff was very fast with service. Menu had some good options to try. Loved that there are multiple options for gyros. A gyro choice for everyone. Went with the lamb/beef gyro ... omg tasted just like the gyros we had on vacation to Greece. The fries make it even more tasty. The fries aren't overly cooked or limp either; just right. The meat was tender and fresh. You can catch a glimpse of the meat being cooked in the back if you look closely. Would love to come back and try other menu items also."
"Arrived at the airport around noon and was just looking for a quick lunch close by and this restaurant came up while I was searching for best restaurants. Oh boy! This place did not disappoint. It's tucked in what may looked like an industrial brick building but there's ample parking. When I got to the restaurant on a Monday, there was quite a bit of a line but mostly it was for take out. I got seated immediately and place my order. I got the Lebanese chicken with rice and salad and extra garlic. Everything was delicious. The chicken as cut in cube size pieces and it was well seasoned and moist. The salad was as fresh and it was a good portion sized plate. I also ordered a falafel (comes by piece) and it was so good. Right amount of spice and flavor. It reminded me of what I had in Damascus (very authentic)As I was having lunch, their take out counter was busy so it looks like a lot of locals love this place. Definitely a great Mediterranean place you should try if you happen to be in Fresno! They also have daily specials which I will try the next time I will be in town."
"Oh my goodness, I have been to every restaurant that has been in this little hole in the wall in the Von's shopping center on Cedar and Shepherd-- I just went to the latest one and not only was it fresh and so tasty.. the service was great. We were checked on continuously and they went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed. I loved that. I just wanted to promote a new local business. I will definitely be going back and hope everyone else tries it too. They definitely deserve the attention!!! we are chicken kebab their Mediterranean salad and hummus, and then ordered extra hummus-- It was so good. Will definitely try something else next time but not sure if I want to because that was enjoyed so much so we stick to that lol."
"Amazing lunch options, unique and delicious market treats, and probably some of the tastiest European desserts Ive found in a bodega. My wife and I were looking for Mediterranean food and Arrat Market popped up. While I don't think this place is a true Mediterranean restaurant they do offer delicious Mediterranean focused plates. We ordered two Chicken kebab plates with a side dzadziki (yogurt sauce) and extra pita. The food was amazing. The chicken was super juicy and full of flavor and the rice was a perfect mix of al dente yet not try. Dzadziki, which I've never seen it spelled like that, was super fresh and the crispy cucumber added a nice crunch. Definitely a revisit dinner spot and they take phone orders! While we waited for our food we shopped around. This place is small, but they have so much good stuff here. Tons of international spices, candies, and jarred items. We left with some spices, a bag of cinnamon cookies, and lots of sweets for the kiddos. Can't wait to head back here and sample more of their menu and get a few more sweet treats!"
"I have been eating very clean recently and was dying for a dessert but couldn't think of what sounded good that wasn't junk. I wanted something very simple, very rich, and homemade. I drove around until I stumbled on a place that felt right and I adore that it was Ninas! My old boss used to order lahmajoon for our office and i remember it being so addicting. When I walked in I told the man upfront "I'm really wanting a dessert what do you suggest?" And he gave me a few options. He was so nice and helpful and not at all bothered by my novice curiosity. I ended up buying a small baklava and a small container of their butter/sugar cookies(I know how to say it but not how to spell! Hah-rah-bee-yah?). The cookies are sweet, simple, and very delicate. Not the best I've had but I know my kids will love them. The baklava on the other hand made me almost cry after one bite! Everything was labeled clearly, it was clean(stacked with lots of boxes of inventory along the window though), and well organized. There's a little doorway into the kitchen where you can see them baking and preparing!Arthur is the man who helped me and he said that they sell out of lahmajoon almost always. The spicy goes around midday and the regular usually around 5. So if you want it give it a try, time is of the essence!"
