"Merced has way too many hair salons, and it's really hard to know which ones are clean, has experienced stylists, or reasonable pricing, but Dye-namic is risk-free for picky 'ol me.I don't know if the salon is new but it was CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! No clutter on the counters, I didn't have to stare at dirty combs soaking, the only appliances out were ones being used, and no gunk in the grout of the tile. There were also lots of stations so you're not cramped in and getting blowed in the face by someone else's dryer, and the decor was cute! Coffee if you want some too.Norma did a beautiful job on my highlights, and listened very carefully to what I did and didn't want, and with the time it took and weaving two colors, other salons would've charged $150 or more. So if you're looking for a salon with professional employees who take pride in their work but don't overcharge in a CLEAN environment (I really can't stress it enough, I watch too much Tabithas Salon Takeover so this is a gem for me) this could be your beautifying spot too"

"I'm mixed with black and white, my hair is beyond unmanageable!! It's course and so thick, consequently it gets matted and tangles up really easy. I had a few bad experiences with non black hair stylist doing my hair. So for the last 20+years I only let black stylist do my hair. Yesterday I googled black hair salons. Even though they do advertise they are specialized in textured hair, you will read later that they are PRO'S at any hair texture. I called the salon. I spoke to Dawn, and I told her I had a few huge knots (like dreadlocks) and might have to cut them out after working on them the night before for 2 hours, and one one was beyond repair "so it seemed".Dawn gave me the break down of what she could try, so I went in. Her confidence and display of pure determination, made me say even if she wasn't a woman of color I was going to give her a shot. She took her time not to hurt me as much as she could. Obviously with these type of tangles it has to hurt a little, but for the most part it wasn't that bad. She kept checking in with me. So very sweet and determined not to have to cut them out, after I told her after the 2nd hour if she has to cut them out she could. I really thought that in the end my hair would not be salvageable. Wow was I wrong! She had put my hair in the wash bowel and applied the moisturize back into my hair. I had used Cantu Co Wash and another product, Shea Moisture that literally stripped the hair of any nutrients and the Shea Moisture left it with a wax/glue like feel that literally made the matted parts like a birds nest "4 hours later" sponge bomb tone lmao, my hair was totally untangled and she had also put some more products in my hair and put me under the hair dryer, with a plastic cap. The heat and products gave my hair life again. She and her husband Ron are 2 of the most nicest and genuinely cared about me and refused to let me cut my hair off. I started to tear up from happiness, the night before I was so distraught of the thought of losing my hair. I will be coming back in 2 weeks for Ron to address my grays, and have Dawn give me a facial and do my eyebrows. Yes she does all that too! Dawn you saved my life yesterday!"

From the moment I walked into the doors the ambience was very relaxing and the decor is like a modern chic look. She actually listened to what I wanted and did such an amazing job, from the wash massage and blow out it was a well needed visit. She used the blade for the edge up and clean up also trimmed my mustache. Charged me at $17 (special). The wait was less than 15min and slow for today (Thursday/1500ish). Had the chance to see the other barber Junior in action as well and he definitely can cut/fade hair. I will be returning. Must try if you want an awesome fade."

"I've been going to Janna @ Elite 1 for the better part of...well, the entire time I've lived in Fresno, pretty much, so about 17 years. She is an awesome colorist and her cuts are incredible. She's a huge talent and if you're super-picky about a great cut as I am, then she's the one to see. I prefer razor cuts for a really great sharp-edged cut and I can go for months if necessary, w/out a cut due to her incredible job. I just wouldn't suggest anyone do so! She's great and you would not be disappointed. Elite 1 is a great all around salon as well, located in the SE Albertson's shopping center at Bullard & First, it's very centrally located as well. They also have several nail artists as well, but I've never had mine done there so I can't review that."

"I won a gift certificate from a local silent auction that was good for $85 toward a hair service with Jenn. I'm always reluctant to buy services through Groupon, Living Social, or in this case, silent auctions, because the service is usually just subpar or there are contingencies. It was for a good cause so I figured I'd go for it and just never use the service. I ended up needing a trim and color desperately. I'd been putting it off forever and my normal stylist is always booked for months. I text Jenn on Saturday and she got me in Monday afternoon. I arrived and Jenn sat me down and asked me the basics. What color I wanted, what cut I wanted. I just wanted to cover my greys in the front and even out the color since I had balayage prior. I wanted a blunt cut and about 2.5" off. Jenn delivered.What I appreciated about the whole thing was that she left me alone to do my thing, i.e. Scroll social media and whatnot. She asked some basic questions like how my day was, how the silent auction went, etc... We made small talk for a bit and then both did our own thing. A few things really stood out to me. One was when she was washing my hair and another client called. She could have easily taken the call but asked her employee to put them on hold while she finished with me. The second was after when she was combing my hair out before blow drying. She pulled out a wet/dry brush and I was my heart melted out of appreciation. Some places proceed with trying to comb your hair with a comb. Weird, I know, but a wet/dry brush is amazing. It doesn't rip your hair out. The girls in the shop are very close, judging from their conversations about their kids, life, school, shopping... It was nice to be in a place where there was a good vibe. My color was perfect. I just told her I wanted a slightly darker brown than my base and she delivered. The blunt cut was perfect and the products she used were top notch. Only downside were the dye stains on my hairline but I knew it'd probably end up like that because of the greys. I just took it off when I got home."
