"H&W Drive In is a cool local spot in Merced. This was not a drive thru fast food restaurant. But, more of a drive in (hence the name) or walk up place. Customers can either drive up to order and have the food delivered to their car. Or, can walk up to the window to place orders to eat at the tables outside or take to-go. The staff was nice. Orders came out quickly.We tried a few of their items - Tuna Sub, Bacon Cheeseburger, Patty Melt, Fries, and Onion Rings. Their fries are crinkle cut in case that matters to you. We enjoyed all of the food. They were all well made and tasty. And the portions seemed to be on the larger size. Prices were quite reasonable. We would go back again if ever in the area."

"I was visiting from work and asked where can I find the best wings in Fresno for Wings Wednesday and was directed here and was NOT disappointed. I made a special request for Buffalo Lemon-Pepper and they did it no problem. Found out it was a hole-in-the-wall food joint, knew the wings were gonna be FUEGO! Got my food and saw the wings came in a plastic container, I was sold on how quality the wings were gonna be. Ate my first wing with no ranch, FELL IN LOVE!!!! Ate next 11, I got a 12 piece, with ranch, nail in the coffin. Well, the ranch was coo, my favorite is from w*%#^%*, but we won't mention them lol Not gonna lie, by far the best wings in Fresno and now whenever I come up here, this place is on the must visit list!!! 10 outta 10"

"The inside of the restaurant was newish, clean, and lively. I was open to trying it, but the food and service left a lot to be desired. I'd say, if you're looking for beer and TVs, it would be fine, but I don't think the focus of this restaurant is food quality. We went in on a weekday and it seemed there was no hostess and only 1 server for all the tables. We ordered salad with grilled chicken, a burger, and fries. The fries seemed frozen, not homemade. The salad was average but the chicken also seemed like reheated. The prices were higher than expected. We won't try it again."

"When I was a kid, businesses painted their windows with cool decorations for various holidays which brought a smile to my face.  Now it's something I rarely see.  I was happy to see The Berrock Shop had their windows decorated for spring.Good selection of personal size pies here.  I tried a chicken pot pie.  Crust was flaky and buttery.  Chicken was tender and full of flavor.  I liked the gravy, carrots, and potatoes.  Nice of them to give you extra gravy to dump on your pie. Soda dispenser provides soda water which was bubbly and refreshing.Apple pie had a flaky buttery crust which I loved.  Apple filling had a sweet apple flavor.  Very tasty pie.Staff was nice and got orders out quickly.  I'll be back next time we go on a Yosemite/Kings Canyon National Park trip."

As a craft beer lover, I'd say it's great for those who enjoy having plenty of options. They have about 20+ beers on tap, along with some wine and seltzer options.Their cool concept involves giving you a card that you can scan at each handle to select your pour size, from a small taster to a full glass. At the end of your meal, you return the card, and it calculates how much you've poured. There are plenty of clean glasses, so you can grab a new one when you're ready to try a new brew.You might not find the best hazy IPAs in town, but the variety is fantastic, especially if you're with a group and want to cater to everyone's tastes. Overall, it's a good spot for pizza and beer lovers alike."

We ordered all 3!The garlic beast was the best. It has jalapeños that are flavorful but not spicy, the bacon was crispy and you can taste the garlic in the patty. The steak sandwich was good. Its a little smaller than the burger, but had good flavor as well. Lastly, the bacon cheeseburger; you can't go wrong ordering a burger with bacon! Everything was yummy! As the name implies, the theme of this restaurant is Wimpy, along with his cronies, Popeye, Bluto and Olive Oyl. The inside of the restaurant probably hasn't seen an upgrade since grand opening, but I think that is part of the charm that is Wimpy's. The service is average; not bad, not outstanding. The food, however, is always on point. My order is usually the Wimpy Burger along with an order of their seasoned fries. Wimpy's has been serving up seasoned fries before seasoned fries were cool and they never disappoint."

"Happy New Year! We had the pleasure of celebrating New Year's Eve together by dining at Bistro 234. Luckily we had made reservations because they were very busy. The atmosphere was festive with couples and larger groups dressed to celebrate the end of another year.We were seated promptly and proceeded to order pre-dinner cocktails. I then ordered the spinach salad and my husband had the meatballs as our starters. Very good! For dinner I selected the sea bass which was a special and am I glad I did! I absolutely LOVE sea bass and will almost always order it if it is available. This sea bass was served on top of a risotto with asparagus. Divine! My husband had the short ribs which he raved about. Even though we were both pretty full from our meals, we split the tiramisu for dessert which is always a treat!Our server Shawn was a delight. So friendly yet very professional and efficient. We did not have to wait long between courses which was nice. Bistro 234 is one of our favorite places to dine especially when we are celebrating a special occasion or just want a nice date night venue. We can't wait until our next visit!"

Our family likes fried zucchini and it's on the menu, so we thought, why not, let's try it. Not sure about the area as I normally don't like the 9th Street area, especially near the bus station but thought well, let's keep an open mind since this place had 4 stars and good reviews. Glad we went. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive and sweet. There was more menu options online but not on the menu at the restaurant. I was going to order the wedge or blue salad but wasn't on the restaurants menu...Oh well. I had the blue burger with no salt fries, crispy, that's exactly what I got, delicious. Hubby had the pastrami burger and salad, WOW, he loved it, the others with us had the Bauer burger and they loved it as well. We loved the fried zucchini so much I ordered another, glad we did. They tried, but it couldn't... We should've sat outside! Ordered meals for 8. 3 more tables arrived AFTER we got there. They all got their food before us. After about 45 minutes, our food trickled out, one plate at a time, over the next 15 minutes. Kids cheese pizza worse than frozen. The salads were served on hot plates with the main courses. (So salads were hot) One of the salads did not have the salad dressing on it.Popcorn chicken was served, tossed in bbq sauce, instead of BBQ on the side (as requested). The chicken parm sandwich wasn't made from chicken breast. It was inedible parts of the chicken breaded.Our server abandoned us after the food was delivered, but I went to the bar and asked for drink refills and another server cheerful helped! There was one good thing: All of the fries were hot and crispy! This place has 'lots of potential' with a few adjustments in the kitchen and the server."

I would say the best part of the nachos was the jalapeños, guacamole, and pico. The asada was okay, kind of dry to be honest. We did get it to go but ate in the car in the parking lot cause we wanted to make sure it was fresh. But the ladies were so kind and welcoming and had great customer service! One thing, if you order a drink online, double check that it is with your order. I ordered a Limón Jarrito, checked and it wasn't there. When I asked about it, she was apologetic and showed me the ticket -- it only prints 1 Limón (one lemon) and so there was extra limón for the tacos (which actually I loved!) -- but for some reason the way that their system recognized that wasn't clear that it was a drink. She got it for me and so it was no problem but I'd say just check it out and make sure it's there if you order! Would absolutely go again for the quesabirria!"

"Went with a friend a couple Fridays ago. I understand this is a relatively new location, but it's been open for a hot second, so I would have hoped some of these wrinkles would have been ironed out by now. To start, I waited at the bar while my friend arrived late. The host was gracious and accommodating. We didn't have a reservation, so we were thrilled that they could get us seated on a Friday night at prime dinner hour with no wait. However, the good news stopped there. It seems that there was a lack in communication between the host and the sever, and - ultimately - we were forgotten about/overlooked. It happens sometimes. So after about 20-30 minutes, someone came up to us, apologized to us for being forgotten about, and then proceeded to explain to us why it wasn't his fault that we were forgotten. Throughout the rest of our meal, he kept referencing how he had to "take one for the team" and be our server because someone went on break or whatever...It was just random and unnecessary for him to give us all these details and it made us feel uneasy and almost as if we were some sort of burden to him. Anyway, once we ordered (I got Bison Burger) and the food came out, the fries were cold and the buns were stale. The quality of the beef was good. On the plus side, the patio was beautiful and warm, with plenty of heat lamps on a chilly fall evening. Overall, the server left a pretty bad taste in my mouth and I'd be hesitant to return."
