"Went early Saturday to beat the crowd and as other Yelpers said they are located where Global Eatery was. Love the special spin they put on classic dishes like French dips and Mac and cheese. Get a good cocktail and you have a meal you will savory. Great job Craft House!"

"I can't believe it took me so long to try Chef Paul's, it was EVERYTHING I expected, if not better! The nostalgic feeling inside makes you want to hang around for awhile but the staff makes being there even better, they are all so kind and welcoming. The food was so satisfying, came out in a timely manner and was plentiful. I have no complaints and look forward to coming back here again soon!"
"What a beautiful place to dine, very country like, clean, and festively decorated for the holidays. When we came in, I had the feeling that nobody wanted to serve us, however, to find out that the server was on break. For that I'm not going to give in less than five stars because right after that the pace was picked up. Immediately we ordered drinks, and my wife ordered a dirty martini vodka and she says that it was the best she ever had. And my wife knows her drinks as she sleeps with an open bar next her side of the bed.We order the lobster crab cake appetizer, my impressions were, that's it? We were served two lobster cakes and a bunch of lettuce. However, they still get a five star because they were very good especially the remola sauce. The salad was well prepared and I got a very tiny cup of delicious mushroom soup. A tiny cup I said, but it was the best mushroom soup I ever had. Finally, it all made sense why everything was so small portions because when I order the seafood pasta it was a humongous serving. A meal for two and it was out of this world. My wife had the garlic marinated steak medallions. Her dish looked amazing as well. We finished it with the hot molten lava chocolate cake and after 65 years that was the best freaking dessert. Everything deserves a five star regardless of the minor slow start in service. Look forward to coming back soon"
"Amazing lunch today at Lula's. Burgers are absolutely killer and the fries are just as good. I recommend the blue cheese and bacon burger. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating along with parking. The service and staff were top notch. Everyone at the restaurant was in a good mood. Will definitely eat there again when in Modesto!"
"The food here was delicious! I had the Reuben sandwich with garlic fries on the side. Both were really good and I liked that the Reuben had a lot of sauerkraut. The service was really friendly and attentive! Overall I liked the laid back atmosphere of this place. There were two stories of seating and we sat up top. The bathrooms were very clean too."
"What a great place. The food is wonderful and the service is always friendly and attentive. We go for breakfast and it is always good. The Dutch honey syrup is amazing and like nothing I have had before. Be sure to buy a pie or some bread to take home."
"I was visiting from work and asked where can I find the best wings in Fresno for Wings Wednesday and was directed here and was NOT disappointed. I made a special request for Buffalo Lemon-Pepper and they did it no problem. Found out it was a hole-in-the-wall food joint, knew the wings were gonna be FUEGO! Got my food and saw the wings came in a plastic container, I was sold on how quality the wings were gonna be. Ate my first wing with no ranch, FELL IN LOVE!!!! Ate next 11, I got a 12 piece, with ranch, nail in the coffin. Well, the ranch was coo, my favorite is from w*%#^%*, but we won't mention them lol Not gonna lie, by far the best wings in Fresno and now whenever I come up here, this place is on the must visit list!!! 10 outta 10"
"I love this place! Been going here for years and have enjoyed every plate. The burgers are juicy and cooked just right. I had the Frenchie and my brother had the crab Louie but in a sandwich with bacon! Both were sooooo good. Our waitress was pretty amazing as well. We ordered some garlic fries before our entrees and she brought everything out as they were ordered making all our food super fresh as we were eating. She was so sweet and it made our lunch experience just that much better. I love the decor in this place and the setup. Makes me feel like I'm in Berkeley at a little brunch place. Super clean and welcoming!"
"I go to lunch with a buddy of mine, once a week, since we both retired in May 2023. We've been to many places in over a year and a half now. His favorite place to go is The Sizzler, lol, and it's actually fairly good, but the steaks are totally hit-and-miss, usually miss. So, I told him the day before we went to lunch, a few weeks back, that I wanted to try BJ's. When I picked him up, he thought I meant BJ's Kountry Kitchen, and he was ready for a cheap, mediocre breakfast. I told him, NO, "we're going to the REAL BJ's", not the roach infested diner dive! We got to BJ's just after 11:00 AM, and they were preparing tables for a pretty large company Christmas party, but seated us quickly. The menu was very impressive, and large. Things got off to a great start, right away, when the waitress asked what we'd like to drink. My friend got his usual, boring, water. I asked her if they served Coca-Cola or Pepsi products. Her answer was perfect, and the correct answer. PEPSI! If it had been Coke, I would've opted for an iced tea. I can't stand Coca-Cola or Sprite. ICK!!! So, I got an ice-cold Pepsi-Cola. My buddy ordered an inexpensive dish, a clam chowder bread bowl. I wanted a great meal, so I got a steak and peppered chicken breast meal, with steamed broccoli, and a bowl of mashed potatoes, with cheese and bacon. The steak was very good, certainly better than the steaks you have to chew each bite at least 100 times to swallow it at Sizzler! The Peppered Chicken was incredibly good, the broccoli was also excellent. However, the greatest part was the mashed potatoes with cheese and bacon. OMG, it was absolutely incredible! Easily the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten, and a very generous sized bowl. I was extremely satisfied after we left, and I told my friend, that I want to go back soon, and we are going tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan 14th. I am very much looking forward to it. There are a lot of excellent restaurants in this location. Fleming's, The Cheesecake Factory, and BJ's. BJ's is the best of the three, especially since I can enjoy a sparkling, ice-cold, delicious, Pepsi-Cola with my meal! Oh yeah, great ambiance also."
"1/17/2025 got me a Angry Mac medium spicy. Delicious and a good size portion. Definitely would order again"
"Had breakfast here this morning . I had eggs Benedict. It was amazing. The eggs cooked to perfection. Ham was tender. It was very good well done Apple Annie's. The service was awesome. Everyone polite and welcoming. PLUS 5 STARS THIS MORNING."

Food was very good and good sized portions. One person's food was not hot enough and they were very responsive in resolving the problem. Overall a great experience.

Boy oh boy how I've missed this restaurant! The owners and staff are so sweet and kind they welcome you into their restaurant as if your family. The food is delicious as I first remembered it. Everything about this restaurant just makes you feel warm inside. The restaurant is super big and roomy now, they offer a lot more drinks, cocktails and beers. I can't wait to go back and try more items off the menu. Every week they do offer a different soup which is awesome especially with this cold weather. So please go out with your family or friends or maybe have a party there and support this local clovis business.

A friend and I were on our was up to Sacramento and we needed to stop by somewhere for lunch. He threw out a few suggestions but I was hankering for some fried chicken because I've haven't had it in a while. That's how we ended up at Chef Paul's Cafe. It had some serious home cooking vibes here and we were greeted immediately by the nice waitresses. We were SUPER hungry so we ordered a lot. I ordered a plate of fried chicken with chili beans and mac n cheese. My friend ordered the jambalaya plate and the bbq platter to share between the two of us. After we ordered, we were approached by a gentleman with a bluetooth ear piece. I thought this was gonna be some guy trying to sell us something but it turned out it was the owner (or I think he is... his face is on the house hot sauce). He wanted to let us know that he appreciated us stopping by and if there's anything we needed let him know. Each plate came with some soft and moist cornbread so we asked for butter to eat the cornbread with. It was amazing. The owner saw us eating the cornbread with butter so he offered us his secret stash of butter. We politely declined cause we gotta move on to the other stuff:Fried Chicken - moist, crunchy and fun to pair with all the hot sauces on the table. Yams (side) - THE BEST THING I'VE EATEN THIS YEAR HOLY MOLY. LIKE A WARM SWEET DESSERT THAT'S TELLING YOU ITS OK, ITS OK TO HAVE THIS SWEET STUFF WITH YOUR MAIN DISH.Chili Bean (side) - Amazing. You can tell this is definitely home made cause you can taste each and every ingredient clearly. Packs a punch with it's seasoning. Green Beans (side) - Very good. Gotta have some vegetables right? Even though it's made simmering in a tasty sauce. Mac n Cheese - Very good mac n cheese. Simple, not dry, and again, tastes very good with all the different hot sauces on the table. My buddy killed his Jambalaya. He didn't want to get his hands dirty cause he needed to keep his shirt clean to visit some clients. The owner told him that they can get him a bib and fill up the Jambalaya again if he wanted to take it to go. Very nice of them. The bbq platter was good. Each meat was moist and tasty but I really enjoyed the sausage link that was on it. I love sausages and that link was top tier. Very juicy. Wow, that was a lot. When I go on a rant and write a bunch about a place, I usually had a great time or it made a lasting impression. I was definitely enamored by the vibes, hospitality, and the experience that Paul's Cafe provided. The only downside is that I probably won't be back here because we're not from there. But if I'm ever in Fresno again, I'm definitely coming back and I already got plans for that Oxtail next time.

Seated and served by an amazing young man Matthew Dugovi. Matthew was friendly and willing to share information about the lake area. Service was excellent. We sat at a table near the window overlooking Bass Lake and the surrounding mountains. We had a Ruben sandwich and French fries with garlic aioli sauce for dipping that was delicious. Highly recommended. Let's not forget the full bar but we just had a couple of beers from the taps. Located in a beautiful lodge hotel.

Make sure to get some baklava with your order -- it's excellent! The burgers are large and delicious, the standard fry order is large enough to split, and the fish & chips are pleasant. If you phone in an order and live within a couple miles, you can head right over and it'll usually be ready when you get there. This is a better restaurant for takeout than dine-in, as eating space is small and basic -- though there are outside tables as well. Staff are always very nice and orders are accurate.

The absolute best fish and chips in the world, the tartar sauce changed my life. Good beer, good food, good vibes. My only qualm: the bartender called a Michelada a "poor man's Bloody Mary". I thought that was uncalled for. It's completely different, regional to Mexico and adored by many. Not a poor man's drink.I literally drove 45 mins for some fish and chips. So, do go.

I finally tried this place out, and I have to give it a 5/5. The food, service, and overall vibe were perfect. We got there around 6/7pm and had a party of 9 and for it being a small spot we all fit comfortably and the guy who was working solo was not only cooking but taking orders and still found time to get us a table. The service was great to say the least and the food was so good. We ordered burgers, grilled cheese and my daughter order tacos. I will definitely be going back soon.

"Woah! I was waiting for my husband at Home Depot and looked for someplace to grab a bite! This place is amazing! Employees are so nice and food is absolutely amazing! Get the onion rings! Prices are really great! We'll be back when we're in the area!"
"The inside of the restaurant was newish, clean, and lively. I was open to trying it, but the food and service left a lot to be desired. I'd say, if you're looking for beer and TVs, it would be fine, but I don't think the focus of this restaurant is food quality. We went in on a weekday and it seemed there was no hostess and only 1 server for all the tables. We ordered salad with grilled chicken, a burger, and fries. The fries seemed frozen, not homemade. The salad was average but the chicken also seemed like reheated. The prices were higher than expected. We won't try it again."
"Excellent beer and food. We loved everything on the taster flight, almond brown was extra good and unique. I wish we could have taken a can home.Garlic fries and veggie burger were delicious too."
"A large group of us came in for dinner, we loved how kick back and relaxed the vibes are here! The service was outstanding and the food was super good! We were told they have a live band here, we will come back for a date night!"
"The outside of this place made me think it was going to be a restaurant but it is way more casual. To our surprise when we walked in we realized it was an order at the counter situation. The prices were reasonable so I didn't expect too much. However I risked it by getting the chicken dish. We also got a salmon salad. It's a nice step up from the Whole Foods bar in terms of the salad. The veggies were kind of weirdly cut. It felt like cafeteria food upgraded. But the flavor was good. The portion size was also good. However the chicken dish was dry. Sitting next to us was a family with seven kids! So it's a kid friendly place. Fast casual. You grab your own utensils. I think we would be back if we were grocery shopping and needed a healthy bite. I'd get the salad again and pass on the plates."
"The food is good. Each time we go they are out of this or that. But what we get is usually good. Not great but my son likes it. Ran by teens that were distracted and fooling around as we tried to place our order. Disappointing. The dining area always smells of sewer gases. I thought it was a one time issue but it's like that every time. We eat outside if the weather is good or just take it to go. It's actually really gross and they need to have a plumber inspect/repair their drainage lines."
"The meatball sandwich, $9.95 for a whole sandwich, was delicious and a great deal. The meatballs were well-seasoned, juicy, and tender. They were layered with melted mozzarella cheese and their zesty housemade marinara sauce. All sandwiches are prepared on French rolls from Max's Bakery. I loved the lightly toasted French roll's crunch, moistness, and freshness. Most of their sandwiches, hot or cold, are around $9.95 for a whole. Fresno's original Italian tavern and grill is still the gold standard for food taste, quality, and value."
"Our group had the best time at Sunday brunch! (Make sure to get reservations and be on time because they are only open for 2 hours on Sundays). It's the perfect spot to celebrate and have some bomb chicken and waffles and hear some hype music. (The DJ was interactive and so good!) If you're down for a good time check this place out!"
"This review is specifically for the happy hour! We have not eaten dinner here recently enough to review the restaurant -- just happy hour in the bar.For many years, my husband and I enjoyed going to happy hour at Tahoe Joe's. When the kids were small we'd leave them with Grandma and Grandpa and head to Tahoe Joe's bar on West Shaw (before that location closed). It was almost like our Cheers -- my husband had been some of the servers' teacher and it was just a very friendly relaxed vibe. Our go-to was always beer and the nachos. Perfect relaxing snack at the bar. The West Shaw location has been closed for many years and a couple times when we tried the bar at the N Cedar location, it was too frenetic and crazy-busy.But ...I had a hankering for those nachos. So we went tonight to the N Cedar location after work to check out Friday happy hour before a holiday weekend. Dangerous, right? No -- there was plenty of space at the bar. Some of the high top tables were occupied but at the bar itself, it was one businessman at the other end of the bar and ourselves.Service was friendly and quick. My husband got his old standby Lagunitas, but I broke with my beer tradition and instead ordered a "Joes Moscow Mule" from the happy hour menu. I didn't ask what made it "Joe's" in particular but it was cold, refreshing, and a good price. The menu says "Smooth Russian Standard Vodka muddled with fresh mint and lime then hand-shaken with ginger beer." It's true I saw the bartender muddling. It was a good drink -- not especially strong but I felt it a bit. During happy hour I think it was $7 instead of $9.75. Don't quote me. It was a little cheaper for sure.Husband was happy with his draft Lagunitas. And the nachos -- they were just as we remembered -- once we got them. We had forgotten they didn't have any meat (which was fine, but we might have requested to add some protein). And we'd forgotten that we usually asked for some salsa on the side to add to them. I think in the old days we also used to see guacamole on the nachos: but maybe it was something we requested to add.The nachos were good and brought back our happy hour memories -- warm crispy chips with refried beans, melted cheese, sour cream, jalapeños, and a little chopped tomato and cilantro. Quite tasty. We'll definitely come back here soon. If it was closer to our home, I could see making this a regular "thing" again. It's just very chill and relaxed -- and it's a nice treat without stuffing your face or getting too expensive."
"This place was a recommendation from a friend. We saw they had award winning burgers and were so excited. This place did not disappoint. We each ordered a single burger and fries. I got steak fries and my husband got seasoned fries. The service was great. The girls up front was helpful and patient. It was a diner/style burger place. You order up front and they bring you the food. We ordered a chocolate shake before leaving and it was thick and delicious! We can't wait to go back and try the onion rings."
"Good beer and a good location. The Cobb salad wasn't bad. I had a couple tasty IPAs.The server came to our table five or six times, good job. Nice decor, laid-back brewery vibe."
"my family and I went in for Christmas. The service and food were amazing! Everyone there was very hospitable! We appreciate everyone being there on this holiday and making it at a great experience. Thank you to the management and crew merry Christmas."
"Hey Five Ten,So.. I don't normally frequent higher-end restaurant like yourself, and yes you are considered higher end here, buta few friends took me out for my birthday and we decided to check you out.Nice atmosphere, quiet. Servers were polite. Food was well presented.Iron steak - Just what you expect. Good. In all honesty, I don't know how often I would come here unless it's a very special occasion since with the higher "class" comes higher prices. But hey a great option for something more upscale."
"A Fresno famous diner and I'd never been there until January 2024! Great breakfast place I've been missing out on. Nice greeting when we entered, it was a weekday morning, not too busy but seemed to be a lot of regulars picking up orders to go. Great coffee. I tried something I usually don't get at diners and it was great! The chicken fried steak, eggs and hash brown -yummy! This was the perfect sized portion in my opinion. Love the location of course and hope this Tower staple is here for many years to come."
"The food is cooked fresh to order so be prepared to wait. The service is excellent. The ambience is amazing and the waitress is remarkable, she remembers faces. I highly recommend. I apologize. I don't have any pictures. I always forget sometimes to take pictures before I consume my food, but believe me it's worth stopping by."
"One of the best burgers I've ever had. We had family coming over for a visit and thought let's give this place a try. Our family likes fried zucchini and it's on the menu, so we thought, why not, let's try it. Not sure about the area as I normally don't like the 9th Street area, especially near the bus station but thought well, let's keep an open mind since this place had 4 stars and good reviews. Glad we went. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive and sweet. There was more menu options online but not on the menu at the restaurant. I was going to order the wedge or blue salad but wasn't on the restaurants menu...Oh well. I had the blue burger with no salt fries, crispy, that's exactly what I got, delicious. Hubby had the pastrami burger and salad, WOW, he loved it, the others with us had the Bauer burger and they loved it as well. We loved the fried zucchini so much I ordered another, glad we did. Enjoyable afternoon with loved ones and a good meal. Highly recommend. We'll be back. Thank you for a nice experience and good meal."
"Took the family here (party of 8) for a night before Christmas Eve dinner. Only one table of 4 was occupied when we arrived. The restaurant was hot and stuffy! We asked if it could be cooler? They tried, but it couldn't... We should've sat outside! Ordered meals for 8. 3 more tables arrived AFTER we got there. They all got their food before us. After about 45 minutes, our food trickled out, one plate at a time, over the next 15 minutes. Kids cheese pizza worse than frozen. The salads were served on hot plates with the main courses. (So salads were hot) One of the salads did not have the salad dressing on it.Popcorn chicken was served, tossed in bbq sauce, instead of BBQ on the side (as requested). The chicken parm sandwich wasn't made from chicken breast. It was inedible parts of the chicken breaded. Our server abandoned us after the food was delivered, but I went to the bar and asked for drink refills and another server cheerful helped! There was one good thing: All of the fries were hot and crispy! This place has 'lots of potential' with a few adjustments in the kitchen and the server."
"My husband, my son and I love the food here. My son is a toddler and loves their pancakes. The stuffed Chile relleno and eggs aren't too spicy and it's cheesy. The eggs Benedict is also very good. My husband loves their omelette. Their biscuits are fluffy and the gravy is pretty standard. We really only go there for breakfast."
"We went there twice in 2024. Once in April, and once again in December. We have positive experiences both times. The service was good. The food was fresh and tasty. We tried different flavors for our wings and got to test our limits also! It was a nice, casual family dinner. The restaurant is a huge room with many big screen tvs. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff who took care of us did their job."
"1/28/24 Picking up lunch to have tomorrow while in the area right now. Long line that moved at a medium pace. Two grilled cheese sandwiches with no sauce & grilled onions ordered. A worker was walking down the line taking orders. Kind with well wishes and you pay up at the front window.A bit more waiting until getting to the window. The worker was kind at checkout. 1/28/24Lunchtime! Grilled cheese sandwiches were cheesy & really Delicious! Mother really enjoyed hers too! Good service & Great grilled cheese sandwiches! Highly recommended!"
"First time here & the food was great.Karaoke night had some talent.Definitely recommend this place"
"Food was good...I had a burger, hubs had prime rib. Both were ok, nothing crazy special. Our server was great! She was so busy yet gave us enough attention. The big issue here was the noise! Music was so loud you had to yell to talk. The bar isn't blocked off from dining and there were some loud groups (which is ok in itself) but turning the music up to cover the chatter isn't going to solve anything"
"Family friendly pub! Had TV everywhere to watch football. Bloody Mary was amazing. Food was delicious. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive and prompt."
