Bistro 120

When you think of delicious food you think of a meal that is prepared in a way that enhances the flavors. This is what we have found each time we have dined at Bistro 120.We kept hearing our friends talking about how delicious the food is at Bistro 120 and how we had to try it. We gave in to peer pressure and made reservations (highly recommended especially on the weekends). The restaurant is very spacious inside and divides in several dining areas which makes for easier conversation with your dining companions. There is a nice craft cocktail menu which we enjoy. My favorite meal is the sea bass which is so delicate and seriously melts in your mouth. My husband loves the steaks and has been very happy with the flavors and preparation. If you have a sweet tooth, you must have the butter cake. It is the most decadent cake served with whipped cream and fresh berries. Seriously drool-worthy.If you happen to be in the area I highly encourage you to give it a try. And don't forget to have the butter cake. You'll thank me later.

We visited in the evening for my husband's birthday. We had reservations for 5 pm for four people, and listed in the reservation that we were celebrating his birthday. We were seated promptly upon arrival, ambiance was very nice and cozy. The waiter was attentive and helpful. The food was really good, not the best I've had in my life but pretty good for Oakdale. Overall experience was nice, there was just a minor thing that was kind of weird. We also mentioned to the waiter that we were celebrating my husband's birthday. He said "oh I'll take care of you!" After dinner, he told us that dessert would be coming out. We didn't order dessert so we figured it was a little complimentary birthday treat. He brought out the house made butter cake (the most delicious cake I've ever had!) When the bill came however, we were charged for the cake ($15 I think). I wasn't mad or even asked about it, because the cake was so good, however I did think it was a little odd to be charged for something we didn't order in the first place. We will be back for special occasions, as this is a pretty pricey restaurant. Great date night place though for sure. Definitely worth visiting at least once!

My Girlfriend and I tried this place out on Valentine's Day, 2/14/25, and will never go back after the way we were treated. We love trying out new places so we booked a reservation about 2 months in advance to secure a table in Bistro 120. We are from San Jose, CA so it was about a 2 hour drive to the restaurant. Everything was okay until the last few minutes of our evening. Food was decent and ambiance was good. After we were done eating our appetizers, main courses, and dessert my girlfriend and I had about 2 and a half glasses of wine left in our bottle we ordered. We were approached by our server when he asks us if "we can finish our wine in the waiting area because someone else wanted our table" and proceeded to offer us a $30 gift card for us to get up, walk to the front of the restaurant with our wine glasses in our hands, and finish them in the waiting area with the people who were waiting for their tables....My girlfriend and I were confused and didn't know what to say or think besides "did he really just ask us to leave our table while we were still finishing our meal." (there was an empty table exactly like the one we were sitting at right next to us). In my entire life, I have never heard of any fast food, chain restaurant, or any dining experience where they have been asked to leave their table. After spending $200 dollars at their restaurant for us two, we ended up having to get up and leave because of how uncomfortable we felt. Even after speaking with a manger and our server, we weren't offered any compensation for such a shitty dinning experience. I understand that mistakes happen but this was inexcusable. Such a let down.

My parents and I came here for lunch on v-day. The place was pretty busy and we had no reservations. We were quickly seated in a very nice little nook. The food was delicious and so was my drink. I'll be back to try out the dinner menu for sure.

Our first time here! Stopped for an early dinner on our way back from Mi-Wuk Village and...snow! Had the clam chowder, asparagus fries and Philly cheese steak rolls. Everything was delicious and the ambiance is so cute and perfect! Espresso martini and margarita for the win! Definitely coming back and will try dessert!

The food is delicious, a little on the pricey side. The service is excellent, always coming & checking on the table to see what we might need. The ambiance is upscale & classy

I called to order take away. I was told no. I was told that I could go in and order to go and wait at the bar area. Wow. Talk about waste of time and outright ridiculous. I didn't go or try the place out. I guess I could've gone in and ordered but then I'm wasting my time. Maybe when they change their policy, I'll get to try this place out.

We were so looking forward to this place. Unfortunately the food was really mid. Scallops at 50 bucks cool except they were tough not fresh or overcooked not sure. Risotto was flavorless and service was a good attempt but awkward. Won't return just not a good place.

Omg the butter cake is the best ever! must have I think my favorite part of the entire dinner! well of course the 120 bistro philly cheesecake starter was delish! great service very nice place inside and out amazing .

My wife and I celebrate Valentine's Day the day after to avoid the crowds. Called ahead 2 days prior to see if I could drop off some flowers to surprise my wife. The hostess said sure they would put them in their walk in and I could drop them off anytime. So I drove from Modesto to drop them off and the manager said no, he cannot hold them he was concerned about liability ‍He said I could bring them in 15 minutes early..WTF‍ how am I going to do that and surprise my wife. I've done this several times at other restaurants ...dumbest thing I've heard and now the surprise is ruined...not the best 1st impression Bistro 120...get a waiver form your so concerned
