Birdies Roadside Cafe

I don't know where to start, so I will start with the decor. They did an amazing job of upgrading this place. Beautifully designed, nice, and bright. They offer cute things for sale.Now let me tell you, there aren't many "got to go here" breakfast spots in Mariposa, as a matter of fact I cant think of one breakfast place I have ever "had to have" when I come up....but this is a definitely got to go here place and I think it's going to be my new breakfast spot when I visit!!When ordering breakfast at a new place, I always stick with the basics because well eggs and bacon are always safe, right? We'll let me just tell you that after sampling my family members' food, I immediately regretted my decision. The omelet (desayuno) was soooo yummy!! And the breakfast burrito... bomb dot com! The owner gave us a caramel brownie and OH MY GOSH, it was the best brownie I have ever had! So good I ordered two to go! I can't wait to go back and try the dinner! It is a small place and one would likely pass it just because you would never think such a gem would be located in the outskirts. I almost forgot to mention, the orange juice is super tasty. The coffee is from Mariposa Coffee, a local place. They serve 49ers (which is a medium roast), not my favorite from Mariposa Coffee, but that certainly won't stop me from going back!!! This is a must try place if you are in the area!

Came to visit family who recently discovered this little place. Doesn't look like much from the exterior but be ready to be WOWED! From the warm service to the freshness of the food to the cute down home farmhouse chic decor, this place is awesome!!! We had the Thai peanut salad w chicken added, the Cowboy Burger, the Baja grilled Chicken sandwich and the shrimp tacos. Everyone was very pleased with the freshness and flavorful meals. You can really tell they have pride and make food with love here! We will definitely visit here each time come to town!

Ana is awsome, food is awesome, mountains are awesome, where am I ? Mountain hospitality, that's where.You'll drive to the cuts of Mariposa, but make no mistake, it's there and it's worth it.

It's quiet, clean, the staff is nice, and the food is really good. I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

One of the best meals I've had anywhere in the sierras nevadas. Sandwiches were plentiful, taste and the atmosphere was cute! Bigger than we expected inside. Owner was also the waitress and he was very attentive. Can't wait to go back and try new things in their menu

We're so lucky to have this terrific gem in our neighborhood, our county - and the fact it's on Triangle Road, on a direct path from Fresno and other points south to the all-weather Arch Rock (Hwy 140) entrance to Yosemite - well, it should be a stop for all travelers and locals alike. The menu is always fascinating, with dishes never trendy for their own sake, but due to their being intelligently tastefully curated for the diner. And don't let the title of "Roadside Cafe" deter you: this accessible, deliciously unpretentious food. Our only complaint? That we don't get out of the house more often - even though we're only ten minutes away - for this epicurean's delight. Don't worry: in simpler terms: it's great grub for the hungry!

We stopped by this place on the way to Yosemite for lunch. The ambiance was good. It was a cute small local mom and pop restaurant. But the food was just OK. I had shrimp tacos. It was OK but the shrimp was not fresh. Chicken wings were not fully cooked and my son's loaded mac and cheese was so-so. The food was almost cold. The cheese on the top was not melted at all. He didn't finish it. My husband had seasonal apple bbq sandwich but he didn't like it. He said it was too dry. We all liked their garlic fries though. It seems like their signature menu is the chicken sandwich that we didn't order.

Birdies is our little neighborhood cafe, but deserves to be a destination, when visiting Mariposa or Yosemite. The food is amazing and flavorful, the service is personal and friendly, and the ambiance is homey and comfortable. Birdies is my favorite place to treat myself to a tasty meal. Today, I had blackened chicken tacos and fried zucchini....they were delicious

Tucked out of the way and well worth the trip! We made a detour on our way to Yosemite specifically to eat here and to visit the special people who make this place hum. Delicious zucchini app with light and bright dipping sauce, fabulous Ruben and memorable Hot Honey Chicken sando. Great decor and servto boot. Loved it all! Will be back.

The best food in the area hands down! My husband and I are regulars, food is always fresh and delicious. Great relaxed ambiance with indoor/outdoor seating options. Amazing staff and owner. 100% recommend, a gem in Mariposa!
