I got the burger with Brie, bacon and blackberry something. It was delicious. Fries were great, sauces were on point. Brothers in Ripon is great but this might be a little better. They need a sign out front. I wonder how many people go to that McDonald's next door without knowing the best burger possibly in Modesto is right next door. Enough to make you sad but the burgers will cheer you up. Staff was great too.

Had an overnight work trip that had me in Modesto so I was trying to find something fun to eat. After a bit of research I found this place. I showed up around 7pm and I thought it might have been closed because no one was here. But they were open. I ordered a Bauer burger with the house seasoned fries. They asked how I'd like the egg cooked and the burger cooked: I asked for medium for both. Given how dead the place was, it did take a minute to get my food. The burger was ok, not worth $21. The bun fell apart very quickly which is a bit of a cardinal sin in the burger game. The bacon on the burger was not bacon strips but a bit of bacon crumble. The patty was a bit overcooked so it was dry and it wasn't seasoned so it was bland. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the aioli and the egg yolk with a disintegrated bun made for a huge mess. The fries were interesting. The house seasoned fries are not salted. So the fries were almost sweet due to the spices, but no salt. And they do not have regular table ketchup or malt vinegar. I did ask for some ketchup and they brought me their house ketchup. While not like a classic ketchup, it was actually quite good. Oh, be aware. They will charge you a 4% fee when they bring you the check (what would have happened if I'd paid with cash?). I do not see anywhere on the menu where they say their is a payment fee so that is a pretty shady business practice.Overall: meh. I think for the price point the burger should have been great, but sadly I can't say it was great or even good. I'd likely not return.

If you haven't been here since the new owners took over just know the vibe just isn't the same, normally that's okay because change is good, but I didn't care for the atmosphere, service seemed very blah, not that they were rude but almost like they didn't have enough customers around to care.... No dessert was available They didn't know we had a RSVP Food overall was DELICIOUS! Try the Blackberry burger!

One of the best burgers I've ever had. We had family coming over for a visit and thought let's give this place a try. Our family likes fried zucchini and it's on the menu, so we thought, why not, let's try it. Not sure about the area as I normally don't like the 9th Street area, especially near the bus station but thought well, let's keep an open mind since this place had 4 stars and good reviews. Glad we went. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive and sweet. There was more menu options online but not on the menu at the restaurant. I was going to order the wedge or blue salad but wasn't on the restaurants menu...Oh well. I had the blue burger with no salt fries, crispy, that's exactly what I got, delicious. Hubby had the pastrami burger and salad, WOW, he loved it, the others with us had the Bauer burger and they loved it as well. We loved the fried zucchini so much I ordered another, glad we did. Enjoyable afternoon with loved ones and a good meal. Highly recommend. We'll be back. Thank you for a nice experience and good meal.

Food menu was so on point. Everything sounded good! Everything was delicious! The restaurant had a good amount of people and we got a nice table right away. Our waitress was so nice and in a good mood so that was nice too. The restaurant doesn't have have music and I liked that, we could actually have a conversation and not yell at each other. Lol our food was super flavorful and we will be back! The ketchup had a unique & I will say my black berry coulis & Brie burger was delicious. I loved the flavor combo. The seasoning on the fries and the Mac and cheese was also unique and kind of sweet.

Read last review.Now a server wanted to respond lying saying " we ordered drinks and left without paying for them." Total LIE! I went to the restroom to wash my hands when we first got there. When I came out I saw Fox News and my wife seated at the table with two glasses of WATER on the table. She hadn't ordered anything liar!

Lunch today at Bauer's By Saxon was really good. Great vibe, friendly service and good food. The fried zucchini was excellent. I had the mango shrimp salad and it was delicious. My husband had the fireman burger with fries. The burger was very juicy and very messy. He did not like the fries because they were not very crispy and had a sugary spice on them that tasted sweet. I would definitely go back and try something different.

The food was so good, we didn't get a picture before we dug in. The pastrami fries: all ingredients tasted fresh with the combo of the sweet fry seasoning on an already yummy dish. The Brie burger was unique and sweet + savory dish. The cocktail from the bar was not too overwhelming with gin, but you felt it was there mixed into the sweet mixers + fruit. Karely was a helpful and pleasant host!

Wow. This place has gone downhill. Where do I begin. Let's start with Service- None to Barely there. I literally saw two tables get up and leave cuz they weren't served. I'm not sure what was happening but it looked like service was lost. Food- I got the dirty south and my s.o. got the fogo.He said his burger was decent but the fries were way too salty. My sandwich was huge and started off strong. However, the more I ate, the less good it got. Some piece of the coleslaw was hard, but what's worse is I ordered a side salad and that shit tasted not washed... worst salad I've ever had. Now I'm hoping I don't get sick...Ambiance- it's alright. There are t.v.'s playing different shows, and a little game section. A little bar section as well but I didn't see their selection being huge. Other than that, I don't recommend this place. Sad. It used to be good. Idk if it's change of new ownership or what but pick another downtown restaurant. I do enjoy their Pao de queijo though.

This place has gone downhill under the new ownership. Customer service is nonexistent. The place was dead for a Saturday evening, and it took forever to get our food. Nachos were disappointing. It's was basically just over seasoned chips with a few black beans and some scattered cheese and a few drizzle of sauce. Texas burger came with regular sandwich bread. No burger bun. No onion rings, instead it was some burnt strips of onion. No bacon strips, few crumbles of bacon. Fries had cinnamon on it, weird. House Ketchup belongs in the garbage. Disappointing Overpriced burgers. It's like the establishment just didn't give a damn. Oh almost forgot to mention. Tiny Flies were constantly being waved away from the table. They have a fly hatchery. Gross. Never going back to this dump and I definitely DO NOT recommend this place.
