Basilwood is approximately a 30 minute drive from city, to the location in the foothills. It's very easy to find, and a fun outing for my group of visitors. The goats are fun to watch. If you plan in advance, there is a soap making class that is really fun for a group, and also a cheese making class. The cheese making class was something that we did during Thanksgiving weekend last year and it was very informative, fun,... And delicious! There is a shop that sells so many great, and affordable local goods. You can purchase eggs, the BEST goat milk products, and chat with the friendly and informative people who run the place. Definitely worth a visit.

Such a cute place. Soon as we parked we walked over to the chickens then up to the goats. The signs we clear and easy to understand. Everything was clean. The shop was so cute bought a bunch of gifts and the lady in the shop was friendly and helpful so many great smells. Only wish there was an option to pay for like a handful of hay to feed the goats of chicken feed. Would have love that interaction. Still will recommend and come back again. Thank You

This is one of those hidden local gems that I selfishly want to remain hidden so that it doesn't lose its charm--and I can continue to find parking when I stop by, but that is such an amazing local treasure that deserves success, so I must share---and share immediately.I discovered this farm's existence after seeing their Spring Fling event posted on social media--an opportunity to pet baby goats (BABY GOATS!!!) and did some digging to learn more about this place. It appears to be a family-run farm that raises goats for their milk, which they then use to make artisan soaps and other amazing items. It also looks like there are a variety of classes available, including cheese-making and soap "woolie" making. While they are open to the public three days a week, they have events approximately once a quarter when they have new products to roll out. And by roll out, I mean it. At the Spring fling, not only could you visit the soap shop and pick up a decadent soap, lotion, bath bomb, or other grooming item, but there was a kitchen filled with lemon bars, brownies, cookies, and other treats for visitors, as well as ice cold water. Outside, in the beautifully landscaped grounds, visitors could feed, pet, and hold baby goats, purchase gorgeous flower boquets, and peruse other treasures at a few other artist booths. Everything was gorgeous. And to top it off, there was a tempting swing set/jungle gym available for the younger visitors to enjoy. And on top of this, we got to enjoy a beautiful springish ride through the countryside--filled with fields and hills adorned with wildflowers, baby animals, birds of prey, and lush green grass. My only suggestion--the sign is super easy to miss---some sort of extra postings for quarterly events would really help people find the place. But other than that, this was all-around an awesome experience.

I just want to say how much I love Basilwood Farm and all the little "goatees" that help make their products. I have been using the soaps for 2 years and they never fail to delight. I appreciate their quality. What is also a delightful surprise is their customer service. Jill and her team always write a handwritten message on the invoice. It makes me feel so appreciated and not just someone who is giving them money. Many thanks to everyone involved with Basilwood and especially to the little goats!!! If you have not tried their products, especially if you have been using commercial soaps, I invite you to give them a try. I am pretty sure you will be delightfully surprised and an immediate convert.

I became acquainted with Basilwood through social media having read about their soaps on Facebook and seeing the photos of the farm and goats on Instagram. A friend gifted me with a few bars of Basilwood goat milk soap. The quality is so high. This week I got to visit the farm and meet Jill and some of her goats. My small grandchildren loved it and enjoyed picking out their own soaps. So much variety from which to choose. Should you wish to visit in person, the farm is only open to the public on Tuesdays from 10 am to 2 pm.

I bought a piece of Unicorn soap when I was on vacation in California because it smelled delicious and was beautiful. If I had known that it would be so luxurious and nourishing I would have bought a suitcase full! I will never buy mass produced soap again. Thank goodness for online ordering! I'm hooked!!
