Backwoods Burgers

I feel like such a nutter. I wrote this terrific review and posted it to the wrong restaurant. So now I've moved it here where it belongs and will remove it from the other restaurant. We needed lunch and Backwoods had what we needed. The Princess was riding with us, so we needed a place with outdoor seating that allowed dogs (shhhh, she doesn't know).They offer burgers, sandwiches, salads and plenty of sides. When we arrived, I sat outside with Princess while The Boss went inside to scout. Orders are placed at the counter; you get a tabletop number and any necessary drink cups. All set-ups and food are delivered to your table.She came back out to inform me and we began to peruse the menu on our phones. That's when Lauren came out like a superhero! She offered us paper menus, a bowl of water for the dog and to answer any questions that we might have.We ended up with:Tumbleweed Burger - 5 - Angus Burger, Pepper Jack Cheese, Hickory Smoke Bacon, Haystack Onion, Sweet BBQ Sauce and the standard Produce of Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion and Pickles. I got the pickles on the side. I rarely order burgers during a sit-down meal, but this one was perfect and hands down delicious. I could taste all the flavors even though it was a struggle to compress it enough to get top and bottom buns with everything in between into my mouth. The only think I didn't care for was that the onion ring on top of the burger was cold, unlike the half-order of onion rings that we also ordered.Southwest Salad - 5 - Please read the description on the photo of the menu. She said it was an excellent salad. Especially with the addition of some rare ribeye steak (which Princess helped with).1/2-Order Fried Zucchini - 5 - I have a weakness for deep-fried veg. Wildfire charges $5 for the 1/2-order and $7 for a full. Thank goodness because the 1/2-orders were more than enough!1/2-Order Onion Rings - 3 - These were okay but neither the crust nor the onion were strong in flavor.The inside of the restaurant was clean and spacious. There were two restrooms, I went into the one on the right and it appeared to be pretty clean as well. I would recommend that they add a spacer and remount the top of the soap dispenser, so it doesn't spin and cause more damage to the wall.My wife placed the order and said that everyone that she spoke to was excellent in enthusiasm and customer service. I only spoke to Lauren, and she was a champ. She checked with us several times to make sure that we were okay and weren't in want of anything. She was the one who offered a water bowl for our dog. She brought us to-go containers as we were winding down. So many businesses could learn excellent customer service skills from the people working today. Service with a smile and a twinkle in the eye makes for a very enjoyable meal and experience.

If there was a 3.5 stars, we would have given it. The burgers are great! Had the burgers/food been piping hot, we would have given 5 stars. This is our 3rd visit and we requested for the food to be hot as it's been luke warm the previous 2 times.... Unfortunately, it wasn't what we requested. Can you cook to order instead of large batching the patties? We understand that it's busy and you want to get the food out quickly, but there has to be some sort of happy medium. We're willing to wait for hot food.

This place will quickly become your favorite burger spot! I've been 5 times and all 5 times they e exceeded my expectations! Great food! Clean restaurant! Always busy and always friendly! Amazing how quick and accurate they are considering the traffic! The Blue collar is my favorite !

10/5!! amazing food and ambience. The smash burger and the pretzel bun sliders so delish! We also had the fried zucchini and hush puppies with a cinnamon butter Dip.

First time here after passing by the place so often. I came during lunch time with some co-workers, but wasn't looking for a big burger. I ended up ordering the kid's sliders with my choice of Mac and cheese as my side.I will say for a kids meal, this is a lot. Two sliders with the mac being a big size. Heck, the drink was a decent size too. Like an adult size small cup.I enjoyed the pretzel buns. I thought they were warm, fluffy with a gentle touch of salt. My meat though, it tasted a little dry. Nothing that ketchup can't fix though. Sadly, my Mac tasted runny and bland. With that said, stick with fries. I do like that the Mac comes loaded with bacon bits and shredded cheese on top. I will definitely order something else next time. The service is friendly, and in terms of ambiance, the place appeared steady during lunch time. The restaurant appeared clean and has a hunting/western theme because duh, it's Oakdale --bud.

Great local burger place. Had the Tumble weed and fried zucchini. Both were amazing. Highly recommended!!

Was contemplating ordering the Tumbleweed burger but changed my mind bc I try to avoid eating red meat, which made me a bit sad. As I ordered online, I saw that I could sub the beef for chicken for no additional cost!! I also added on pickled jalapeños and roasted jalapeños for no extra fees as well! IT WAS SOOOO GOOOOD AND FLAVORFUL PLUS LOVED ALL THE DIFFERENT TEXTURES!! Nice blend of sweet and spicy. I also ordered the onion rings which was okay. Kinda bland for me, even if it came with ranch. The workers also seemed so sweet and attentive when I picked up my order. Can't wait to be around the area to eat here again and hopefully be able to dine in, bc the atmosphere was nice, especially outside at night.

I've tried the Mac n cheese burger, steak sandwich & the tumbleweed. All were delicious! I always tend to get the hush puppies which are also pretty good

Had burgers for lunch here and they were pretty dang good. But the banana pudding was the end all! Seems like a spot for young people as there were many here the day we came.The fries were very delicious also. Ranch was "house made" they said, and it was creamy and tasty. Service was really good and I'll definitely go again when I get a chance.

We always enjoyed the ribeye steak sandwich. They call it the butchers cut now! I got one about a month ago and it wasn't very good so I gave it another try yesterday and it was not good. It was fat, my dogs loved it. It's not up to par. I'm gonna tell you that right now! That's the last time. We'll never do it again but french fries still good garlic.
