Holiday season is probably the worst time for home remodeling. Joseph and his crew helped us make the best of it by being punctual, finished the job ahead of schedule and were very nice people. They did a fantastic job. We were very happy.

Joe Avakian did a wonderful job resurfacing our old hardwood floors. The contractor we hired canceled on us the day he was supposed to start and Joe was available to do the job. With a week to go before the movers came it was imperative to get it done. We were thrilled with the job he did. They look incredible. I highly recommend Avakian hardwood restoration.

Avakian Flooring helped me remove carpeting in 3 bedrooms and refinished and stained the original hardwood floors. Any issue I had during the process was addressed, and for that I am very thankful for the service. Joseph sent pictures through the process when any issues would arise.

After research and eight quotes from reputable hardwood refinishers, I chose Avakian Hardwood Restoration, and so thankful I did. Joseph refinished floors throughout my house and they are absolutely beautiful. They look brand new, were finished on time and final price closely matched initial quote. Board replacement for termite / previous sanding damage was seamless. Considering the condition, I'd expected a distressed outcome at best. I'd refinished floors in previous homes, but after pulling up the carpet in my current 1920's bungalow, I realized it wasn't an amateur project. A previous DIY refinish left floor uneven, 3/4 of an inch in places, with staining and termite damage that caved-in when pressed.Joseph Avakian wasn't the lowest quote, but he left the best impression. He was calm, warm and listened carefully. The condition of the floor, refinish process, and pricing was explained concisely with no upselling.Several businesses claimed job couldn't be done and provided a new floor quote for $12,000 plus (3x the price for restoration). Others said they'd "try" but couldn't guarantee work due to "condition." Most seemed more intent on selling a new floor than restoring existing one. This was a precise, work-intensive job and I think they knew they could make easier money elsewhere. They were disinterested and at times, dishonest.I knew I could get one more refinish out of the floor and was careful to choose someone skilled and ethical. So glad Joseph Avakian stepped up. He is a true craftsman and an exceptional person. Couldn't be happier with the end product, experience or price.

I cannot say enough positive things about Joseph Avakian and the job he did for me. My hickory hardwood floors had been ruined during a construction project. I was heartbroken and was certain they would have to be refinished somehow. We had tried everything to clean them, with no luck. They were streaky and a mess, with a heavy residue. I had been referred to Joseph through another person. Wow! Joe came in and truly is SO knowledgeable about hardwood. My floors look like new, I'm so happy.
