Ashtree AC & Chimney

They charge a 200 dollar fee just to come out. They came because my external button on my gas fireplace was not working. We decided to install a remote starter on gas fireplace. I ordered the part that he needed. It happened to be half the cost of his quote for the part. I called them when I got the part to schedule an install. We scheduled for the next day. They didn't show up and called to reschedule for next day. This happened three times!! So finally I said I would find someone else. I felt like he got his 200 dollars and didn't want to complete the job! I wasn't a priority to them because they already got their money!! Very disappointing!!

Worst dirtbag ever. Spent over $2500 on fireplace seal and so much other BS. One excuse after another why he couldn't show up, not to mention this guy isn't even licensed to do more than chimney sweep, his partner is the contractor. Same as many other bad reviews. Too much to write, just take my word for it, stay away.

I have used ashtree in the past for my chimney cleaning and they were wonderful. I contacted them for a dryer vent cleaning. They were fast in responding and getting new an appointment for Thursday afternoon. My appointment came and they messaged to reschedule. We rescheduled for Friday afternoon. I texted, called, and messaged on Facebook between 2:10-4pm. I finally got a text right before 5pm letting me know what had happened and that they could reschedule me again to Saturday at 11. I have now texted and called and once again not heard from them and it is almost 12.

We prepaid in September for work to be done. He ordered materials at exorbitant prices and it took more almost three months before he finally showed up to complete the work and this after calling and texting him several times a week. Broken promises to show up. Always blaming the fact that he was too busy servicing customers from Bakersfield to Merced. Complaining that he can't find anyone to work with him. Too busy. Broken equipment. Always an excuse. He charged us $275 for a sealer for the top of our fireplace when I could have bought it for about $110 on Amazon. Same stuff. I would have had a lot left over too. Did he leave the extra materials we paid for? Of course not. Nice guy. TERRIBLE businessman and has no business taking on new customers when he can't support the ones who prepay him for work. Gouging customers on prices and using the excuse that he is a small business doesn't cut it. A LOT of small businesses have fair business practices, make a profit, and generate goodwill with their customers. Ashtree is not one of them. Oh, and I can't attach photos of the work he did becase he neglected to take photos of the supposed damage and the repairs made.

Had a problem with my gas fireplace insert. Called the company and they sent a technician out the same day. Very knowledgeable and great customer service. Was able diagnose and fix the problem quickly. The technician cleaned the unit & replaced the embers. Looks great & glad to have our fireplace working again with the colder days upon us. Many thanks to Robert and Job!

Con men.What a great sales pitch. TV camera to see inside of chimney. Lots of problems guaranteed. Then what? They claim to be affiliated with reliable contractors who can remediate the many (many!) problems they find. Yet they are unable to provide any contractor.They left us with a big bill and a headache. Don't bother.

Absolutely dishonest company. Robert was paid for materials and services never rendered. The company partially installed a fireplace insert but never hooked it up to a venting system, making it unusable. We couldn't get a hold of Robert for months. When we finally did we asked for a refund and were told they wouldn't be doing that, they no longer would talk to us, and to go ahead and seek legal action against them. We are out thousands of dollars because of this.

Again the excuses are limitless! We know your business practices are laughable, I just feel bad for the people you screwed out of $$$, luckily I never paid you in advance!

I dislike having to give a bad review to a local business as I like supporting our community. However, I have had a really negative experience with Ashtree. Five weeks ago, after a flood through my chimney, I paid Robert, the owner, to put a cap in the chimney. He took the money. He has not installed the cap and will not return my money. He is very difficult to communicate with as his voice mailbox is always full. When you call his number, his message says to text him for promptg response. He does not respond to texts. He finally texted me last week that he has the cap and that it would be installed this weekend. He was to call me to schedule. It is now Sunday afternoon. He has not called or texted, nor has he responded to my text asking him when he was going to install it. I tried phoning again but his mailbox was full once more. I had plans for today that I cancelled because I did not know if he would show up or not. I am planning to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and to small claims court. He needs to do the job or return my money, I don't care which. He is not doing either. All I can say is that if you plan to do business with him, Buyer Beware!

Robert came and fixed my dirty fireplace and never made a mess. That's good when your working with that nasty soot. He cleaned and tested it, and now it works perfectly. I'll be scheduling annual checks with him every year. Great experience.
