Ampersand Ice Cream

First time here, my friend who lives in the area suggested it and I'm glad I listened. Ive cream is made on site and you can definitely taste the love that it's made with! We had the following flavors; Whiskey Caramel SwirlMint & Chip HoneycombThe Whiskey Caramel was my favorite. It's almost like a soft serve and tasty to the last spoonful. The staff is extremely helpful/friendly and more than happy to give you a taste of any flavor you may be curious to try.

I. LOVE. ICE. CREAM!!Because this is my favorite of the 3 Ampersands we have here in Fresno, I will start my review off with them. It's probably the smallest of the 3 locations, though I don't think the Marks location is that much bigger. There's not a lot of seating but a pretty good amount for their size-- plus a couple small tables & chairs outside, and a bench. I adoreee the area. Fresno High is a beautiful school-- I love looking at it. The library next to it as well. Plus, if you're there during the right hours, you also have the record store next door, a vintage store I think, and (another fave of mine) Kuppa Joy to explore! They, hands down, have the best ice cream in Fresno. Nothing has surpassed my love for Ampersand thus far. On top of that-- thee most delicious Snickerdoodle cookies! I literally have to refrain from buying ALL that's available to me... sometimes I lose that battle. Oops! The Salted Chocolate Chip cookies are freaking good too! Ugh, now I want some!! Out of the the staple menu items, my favorite flavors are the Honeycomb and the Mint Chip. Oh, and Coffee! Can't go wrong with those.Surprisingly, I haven't done the cookie ice cream sandwiches, but the milkshakes are bomb af. I usually just do a one scoop cup but sometimes I'll get a waffle cone or sugar cone. One scoop is usually enough... very rarely do I do two. But-- When I am torn between multiple flavors, their flight is the way to go! When it comes to the monthly new flavors-- I try to go at least twice that month to try all the ones that caught my attention (if I don't sample all in one go). I'll gravitate to anything nutty, coffee-flavored, lemony, blueberry, blackberry, sesame... and especially their taro flavors. They've been knocking those out of the park! If I happen to love a flavor that month, I'll definitely make multiple visits... even buy myself a pint, or two. Did I mention how much I love them? The pictures will speak for themselves... and that's not even all of 'em.

Tiny little shop with 4 or 5 tables. Interesting sounding flavors that change regularly. I didn't like the flavor of the one I got, but it was creamy and dense, so I may have liked a different flavor. The service was slow but friendly.

The original shop with the charm of a neighborhood favorite and the best ice cream in town. Frequent lines down the block are not to be a deterrent for stopping for a dessert. The line is usually swift and they are generous in tasting samples and kind service. The vegan, non-dairy, and sorbet options are delicious too and occasional splurges into sundaes, cookie sandwiches, or shakes are warranted. A bit crowded inside most of the time, but benches outside and the lil park across the way are a much better place to enjoy your scoops.

Finally went back to try something as I was craving some ice cream! I thought to myself I wouldn't give the cashier a hard time with my indecisiveness so I just went with a classic flavor I like. Thought it would cost more than it actually did so I'm also happy about that.

One of my boys favorite ice cream shops. The employees are always kind and quick. They have new flavors every month. Their ice cream is so yummy. They even offer vegan options.

Ampersand has monthly flavors and I've been going at least once a month to try them. There's so many flavor combinations and complimentary taste test before you buy a scoop or two. December was such a busy month for Holiday time with family and friends took me away from enjoying a little me time. I finally got my ice cream fix even tho it's 60 degrees outside. I chose the Peppermint ice cream out of 8 listed. I thought the peppermint and eggnog went together so maybe that would be the flavor for next December!

The ambiance is very nice.! The seating was excellent. The selection of flavors was very impressive. The price was reasonable. I liked this location because of its surroundings. They were pleasantl. The service was good. Not that friendly however. I think they could be more receptive. But they did ok for my first time.

We came for their seasonal flavors and were very impressed! I got the Christmas cookie and my husband got the gingerbread cheesecake. Both were perfect! The staff is nice and their shop is cute and small. They have merch and art. We parked on the street by the library.

Ice cream in a college town is the best. And yes, I consider the youthful town of Fresno a college town. This lovely little ice cream shop is exactly what you find in a college town. It offers a lot of unique and basic flavors. Each delicious in its own right, on a cone or in a cup. There are toppings available. It's a delightful space for families, couples and singles.
