The food, the aesthetics, & the service were awesome! We loved our server. So knowledgeable and friendly. I had the eggplant rolled with creamy ricotta cheese in middle baked w/marinara. 5 stars just for that dish!My friend ordered the veal and loved it. I was here when it was Fina's. I didn't really notice anything different about interior. It is now being called Ripon Social. Highly recommend this restaurant .

I recently had dinner with some friends at American Social, and it turned out to be a really enjoyable evening. Located on River Road, the place has a relaxed atmosphere that's great for unwinding.The menu has a nice variety, and the food was definitely up to par. I ordered the BBQ burger, which was cooked to perfection--tender and full of smoky goodness. My friend chose the street tacos, which were packed with flavor and quite filling. We also shared some garlic fries, and they were absolutely delicious!The service was excellent--our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we always had what we needed. Our drinks were constantly refilled, and the outdoor seating made for a pleasant experience, especially with the nice weather.All in all, it's a great spot to grab food, drinks, and hang out with friends. Whether you're from Ripon or just passing through, I'd suggest stopping by American Social.

We've been wanting to come here for a long time now. We were timid at first because we thought everyone had to make reservations but going during lunch wasn't bad. We came last Friday around 12:30 and there was no wait and only about 3 other tables of people there.I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and my partner ordered the burger. Both were amazing but the burger topped everything. That had to have been the best burger I've ever had. I ordered their gin drink too and surprising enough not many people order it yet it was extremely tasty. Sour but yummy. The lemon really hits.

We had our company holiday dinner here. It was all of our first time and were not disappointed. They had us in a private room which was nice and intimate and felt comfortable. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. Although I didn't try all of the appetizers, the presentation and service was really good. The drinks were really good as well. I had whisky sour with a little amaretto in it and it was amazing, so a shout to the bartenders too.

I meet up with some family members while visiting California. What a nice restaurant in Ripon very classy and delicious food. I had a Pasta dish, Creamy Chicken Basil Pesto very good. I highly recommend this restaurant

American Social is a new restaurant in Ripon that I am pretty impressed by. I went to the previous restaurant before American Social took over, but both are great. The service here is great and they ask for lots of feedback too which is appreciated. The ambiance is always comfortable and on a weekend I definitely recommend booking a reservation as it can get busy. The Steak Sandwich ($23) and Creamy Chicken Basil Pesto Pasta ($24) are easily my two favorite items on the menu. The Steak Sandwich I asked for it cooked medium rare and it was perfect and so unbelievably tender. The Chimichurri sauce they used was a 10/10. The bread was amazing too. The sandwich itself was definitely one of the best steak sandwiches I've hand. The only negative I have to say is that I wish the fries were cooked longer and they give a pretty small portion for them when they are the most inexpensive part of the dish.The Creamy Chicken Basil Pesto Pasta was also very good minus the unnecessary micro greens that they have an obsession with putting on top of so many of their dishes. It's a taste that does nothing, but subtract from the dish. Flavor rise that pesto was outstanding. The chicken was very juicy and the pasta had a nice texture as well.Ripon and a lot of the central valley isn't loaded with great restaurant options honestly, but American Social definitely has the potential to be one of the best in the area if they keep up the consistency and improve. The service and ambiance alone is great, but I'm happy with every dish I've tried here so far too.

The location was near closing and me and the wife wanted a new experience! And we definitely got it! Who knew that RIPON had an upscale joint with a world class kitchen, menu and great staff? The food choices were very good as well as the knowledge of those same foods by staff, on what was and was not available! As we ate in the bar area - we watched football and sipped on a few TNTs during our brunch! Looking forward to going back in the evening to validate the dinner menu! GREAT JOB AMERICAN SOCIAL

We wanted to try this restaurant(new owners) because it used to be one of our favorite places to dine. We both started with a glass of wine. My husband had the green salad and I had the beet salad. Both were very good. The beet salad had a generous amount of beets. My husband had the lasagna. It was a huge serving, but needed more sauce and cheese. It was rather dry. I had the lamb shanks and there were two shanks which were very tender and meaty. The polenta was yummy. We ended with the blood orange panna cotta and two drinks. My husband had Makers old fashion and I the espresso martini. Both drinks were very good. The panna cotta was not the traditional Italian panna cotta I was expecting. I would not order it again. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes. The service is very good. We were pleased with our dining experience.

I really want to love this restaurant & support a restaurant in our town. If this review was ONLY about the food i would give it 4 stars however the service and experience wasn't good. The very first time we tried to dine here, the hostess gave us a weird vibe and when we told her we were a party of 2 she told us it would be a 45min wait since we didn't have a reservation. My husband asked again and the hostess told us they were only seating "large parties". we waited a couple minutes we decided to go somewhere else & let them know nevermind. As we were leaving, another party of 2 walked in with no reservation (they were asked as well) & were seated at a table. Which we thought was strange. Last night, we gave it a try again. I made reservations this time to avoid any possible issues. We arrived for our 7:15 reservation. Same hostess, same weird vibe as the firstTime. Not sure if it's the way we were dressed (casual jeans and sweaters, the way we look or what. ) We were told it would be about 10min for the party that was at our table to finish up. No problem. Another party came in after us and were seated right away in the main dining area. When we got seated, we were sat at a table in a back room away from the main restaurant with a large party in there. This was strange to us because we were told a party was leaving but nobody had left in the time we got seated. This back room had a party of 14 seated there and this is where things went south. That party was so loud it was migraine inducing, we couldn't even hear ourselves talk causing us to sit and struggle to have a conversation and enjoy our dinner. It's hard to believe this was not done intentionally given other tables being open in the main restaurant and another party being seated before us who arrived after us. The poor waitress did her best managing such a large party and ours but inevitably service fell short. No fault of her own. The food was delicious and we enjoyed it. I may possibly give it another try, unsure at the moment. I really don't want to think the vibe and horrible spot we got sat has anything to do with what we look like but that is what it seems like. Especially with me not being the only one in our party with that suspicion.

Chicken was great and glaze was so good! Loved the mashed potatoes and the asparagus as well
