A Matter of Taste

Great food! We started off dinner with the deconstructed bruschetta and then had the steak and cod for our main courses. Both were specials and were delicious. The wine pairing suggestions were fantastic as well. We were fortunate and somehow managed to have the place almost all to ourselves which was a great way to spend a Friday night after a really long week. We finished off dinner with their special cheesecake. Exceptional!!! I almost want to keep this gem to myself.We enjoyed dinner so much we returned on Sunday for Mother's Day brunch. Wow! The food was so good. My husband had French toast and I had avocado toast with cheese, mushrooms, poached egg, and pesto. I wish I could remember the name of it because it was phenomenal! I would highly recommend trying A Matter of Taste if you haven't already!

Yes, the previous reviews are good, but after seeing the menu on the website, it was the options that drove me to suggest this place to my Wife. We parked right in front, and the Friday Night Special board was right there, and the steak option was a quick decision. I did have to look up what Chimichuri sauce was, but that is do to my ignorance.Service was great, app was awesome (bruschetta), and my steak was cooked how I requested, and tasted wonderful. My wife and I were both very happy with the entire meal.This place deserves your business, so give it a try.

We found this place on Yelp as they have great reviews. We came in to give it a try on a whim. We stopped in during brunch. It's a lovely restaurant with classy interior decor and a bar with mostly two top tables with chairs and a long padded bench. It's located in historic downtown Ripon. Our server Taylor was very accommodating and polite and had great menu recommendations. We tried a couple mimosas and some chorizo eggs Benny, chorizo hash and the regular eggs Benedict. We also tried the smoked salmon crostini with capers. Everything was very good. The chorizo hash was spectacular and the hollandaise on both versions of Eggs Benedict we sampled was delicious. I had the hibiscus mimosa and they make a hibiscus syrup in house. It was very good. We also had the French kiss mimosa made with sake.

This was our first time here, and the reason we chose those spot was for the mimosa flights on their yelp review. BUT they do not serve them anymore which was disappointing. The food menu is limited for brunch. It was strange that all brunch items came with a side salad. The food was good, but for the pricing was on the more expensive side. For 3 people and we paid about $106 total. The overall service was good.

We had the 3 course meal with wine pairings for each. Elijah was our server. He was excellent. He provided great customer service, and knowledgable information of the wines and pairings with our salad, main course and dessert. We left here happy and will definitely return.

Well decided to try out this place. Nice vibe! Like the decor. Only one person working on a Saturday evening. A little disappointed with the service! Ordered a bottle of white wine, no ice bucket! No, I'm not a Ripon snob, but I have experienced Napa Valley and know the right treatment for the price! Well needless to say, tried it, never coming back. So unimpressed!

First and foremost... customer service: Kristie (sp?) was awesome! I was the first one in for the evening and she was very helpful in providing suggestions and helping me navigate the direction I wanted to take my palate for the evening.The bruschetta was delicious... I think whatever balsamic was used was the selling point. (I'd use a heart emoji here if Yelp allowed.)Our group was a blend in terms of wine preferences, but we went with her recommendation of the Elouan and it did not disappoint. I also got to enjoy a Bloody Mary with a maple rim! Whhaaattt?!The only reason for the 4 stars vs the 5 would be the price point... it is a little more on the pricey side (for my budget anyway), but I enjoyed my first experience in. A cute little space that would be nice to attend on a music night.Hoping to be able to pop in again soon!
