There was a person that walked in before the show started, wearing a large mask and a heavy backpack. He went to the stage and sat down on one of the props and proceeded to stare at us in the audience (we were in the front row not more than 4 feet from him. The stage manager told him he had to leave the stage, he walked away but came back. Asked to leave the stage again, he went to the top of the bleachers behind us. His whole appearance and demeanor made about a dozen people uncomfortable, and I was among those who left the theater before the show started. I did not feel safe.

The small 150 seat theater in the famous Tower District in Fresno is definitely worth a visit!! The players are locals who give amazing positive energy to their various roles and interact with the audience on an intimate level by including them in sing-a-longs and story telling that simply captures your heart and the spirit of the season There are many local restaurants that are walking distance to grab lunch or dinner before or after the performance.

I have really been enjoying the small, equity waiver productions of this talented group of Fresnans. I have seen just about everything this season 2019 (which runs on a calendar year instead of season). The best play I have seen, I saw last Sat., Brighton Beach Memoirs. Truly inspired, of course a great script by the late, great, Neil Simon and the children in the cast == spectacular!I have also seen a perennial fav at Second Space -- Driving Miss Daisy. Very well done. Not as great was Shot in the Dark.I recommend this theater over Roger Rocka's because it is small, intimate and gives the true theater experience. Roger Rocka's is more of a nightclub/dinner/performance space. I like them both, but differently. I gave 4 instead of 5 starts ONLY because of the uncomfy chairs and the lack of leg space unless you sit in the first row. Also, they are great about allowing anyone in that has hearing or other disabilities and needs more time to get in and find the proper seating. This has helped with me seeing the show in the front row, not kicking anyone and getting cramped up, while my friend who is almost deaf can hear the action live and center.

I very much enjoy coming to Second Space. The actors are so talented and they shows they pick are usually very good, out of a handful I've seen I have only disliked one.It is a small, intimate theater, and there are really no bad seats. A great way to see what are community can do!

I've had season tickets to 2nd Space for the past 5 years and I'm seldom disappointed by the choice of plays, the sets or the actors. The range is from hilarious (Neil Simon's Fools), touching (The Miracle Worker), controversial (Doubt) and historic (Grapes of Wrath). There is an occasional mis-casting but as a whole, this is a group of seasoned actors who obviously enjoy what they do and do it well. The seating surrounds the stage on 3 sides and I've sat on all sides. They stage the play so you don't miss much even if you are on a side seat. The people who staff the box office and snack bar are personable and take the time to help anyone in need. Special arrangements can be made for wheelchairs or walkers. They also put on a tremendous Christmas show each year that is worth making a family tradition.

For those who do not appreciate the local performing arts scene, Fresno has a lot to offer. With many local companies churning out professional productions with talented, local amatuer actors, you could see several new productions every week.2nd Space is a great little theater in the heart of the Tower. Good Company Players stages half of their shows here...typically non-musicals.A few weeks back, I saw 12 Angry Men, which is one of Evil's favorites. Excellent production. I felt the small theater enabled the cast to emphasize the claustrophobic feeling of the original. Wonderful.Next up is an actual musical for 2nd Space, which is rare. The best part is that you get a well done show for a very affordable price!

Such a nice little theater! Prices were $20 general admission, $17 for students and seniors and $12 for students within 10 minutes of seating if there are seats available. We got to see An Ideal Husband and it was great! Can't wait to see more!

Went to see Blithe Spirit. They did a great job, and recommend to all audiences. Price is right, and the performance was well done. I'll be back often!

This theater is a local treasure. They mount six productions a year, each running Thursday - Sunday for several weeks. It's literally the "second space" venue of Good Company Players, which also puts on shows at Roger Rocka's Music Hall at the corner of Olive and Wishon. Good Company Players (GCP) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The 2nd Space Theatre is a small, intimate venue for comedies and dramas, and the Music Hall houses mostly musicals and is also a dinner theater. There's no meal at 2nd Space, but I actually find that a plus since there are so many places to eat and drink in the Tower District either before or after the play. They opened the 2023 season in January with Shakespeare in Love (a stage adaptation), which was great. Other plays this year are Kalamazoo, Bad Seed, Pride and Prejudice, Arsenic and Old Lace, and A Christmas Carol.
